Ah come on Sony, you can't hype up a free multiplayer weekend and then have the whole thing bugger up multiple times. As some of you may know all too well, PlayStation's free weekend, in which you don't need PlayStation Plus to play games online, hasn't quite panned out so far. Over the last day or so, the company has taken to Twitter in order to confirm that it's having problems. Basically, it seems as though some users still can't access the multiplayer portions of their games.
"We're aware some of you are having trouble with the PS Plus open multiplayer event. Our engineers are currently looking into the issue," reads PlayStation Europe's latest tweet. The free weekend is supposed to last until Sunday night, so there's time for it to be fixed yet, but let's hope that it's up and running sooner rather than later.

Not exactly the experience they want to convey to potential customers.
Well done Sony! facepalm
Yup, problems here.
Given the event's obvious promo value, this IS awkward. If it lasts that long, maybe it's better to give another, smoother free weekend when they figure out all the rough spots in practice. And no, I couldn't care less for "refunds" as a PS Plus user, although if Sony did add a few days to my subscription on their own, I naturally wouldn't object either.
multiplayer seemed to be working when i gave the ghost recon open beta a bash, but i have PS+ anyway.
The only place I read about the free weekend is here, no sign of it anywhere else or any where on the PS store. How would one even know it was happening?
