We've never shied away from the fact that Crash Bandicoot is a big performer here at Push Square; the fact that we're bothering to write this article at all is a testament to that. But we thought it was interesting just how thirsty the market appears to be for the marsupial, with N. Sane Trilogy currently second in Amazon UK's hourly best sellers rankings following this week's release date announcement.
In the US it hasn't risen quite as high, but it's currently placed respectably in 37th position – a spot ahead of imminent Xbox One title Halo Wars 2. Honestly, from what we're seeing anecdotally, this remaster-cum-remake is going to be a huge success, with Activision seemingly playing the release strategy just right. But have you pre-ordered yet? I would, but Horizon already took my money.
Why do people pre order games so far away from their release date?
Anyway, hope the game is as good as it looks
I love Crash, but please can you cover the Lock's Quest remaster news!
It's been a steady climb in popularity for the past 5 years which was probably brought on by several factor. Naughty Dog growing to be one of the finest studios in the world which in turn has maybe led people to want to go back to when the Naughty Dog that we know started. PlayStation's continued relevance and legacy has made people nostalgic for it's PS1 era classics. Plus there's been a movement from certain quarters who felt Sony should buy the IP off Activision because they have never really done him right and just left it to rot until fan demand (and possibly Sony intervention) made them shift. That's the one downside to this, that Activision still owns it because Crash will always be seen as a PlayStation game to the point where been on anything else seems out of place.
@adf86 It's also the timing I think. Crash Bandicoot has now reached that point where adults remember it from their childhood.
@get2sammyb Yes very much so, I can attest to that. You've said before that Crash articles seem to generate more traffic then most on here, why do you think that is?
@adf86 No idea, but clearly Activision saw similar trends hence the decision to make this.
I am hyped. Very much so. To the point where I decided to buy a PS4 just for that. Well not exactly (because there's so many great games), but let's just say it was the winning argument when I was still doubting if I would. The moment this got announced, there was nog longer any doubt.
I haven't pre-orderd it yet though. I kinda assumed they might announce some kind of special edition or limited edition too, at some point. Do you guys think there will be one? 😊
Not pre-ordering, but will buy day one or as close to day one as possible. My wife is looking forward to this more than I am.
I'm not preordering it but I will buy it.
Yep. Had some spare funds in the wallet so preordered the digital copy last night.
Day one without a doubt for me but I'm not preordering...unless there is a likelihood of a Steelbook edition..or with a Crash cuddly toy..(joking..)
Amazon had a free £10 voucher in UK other month. So Pre ordered Red Dead and Crash for £67 which I thought was good for a pre order!
I think it's always going to sell well in the UK. PlayStation always seemed to be in sync with the British public. Of course, they marketed it well but for some reason the UK often is a PlayStation place if you will. And naturally, Crash Bandicoot is seen is one of THE games for the system.
No, there is no good reason to pre-order. I will get it if they do a good job. On day one if I don't have much else to play at that time.
I personally will not be pre ordering it (unless there's a last minute special edition ) , but picking it up when it does realease
@AFCC
I prefer order because it usually results in a cheaper price.
I paid 37 quid for Nioh from Shopto which I prefer ordered 5 months ago. By the time it neared release the price had climbed to 45 -50 quid everywhere. Shop to only charge when the order is dispatched so why not take advantage?

Not normally one for preorder but this Year grabbed Horizon, Nioh and Crash.
@Lovespuds Oh that's nice! That doesn't happen in my country, 70 euros is the price for almost all games pre order or launch window...
Only some sites have better prices but yeah, in my country pre ordering gets you almost nothing!
After so many years of gaming I realized that the pre order codes of bonus content are not worth, I can't remember a single time I've enjoyed a pre-order bonus, it's usually nothing memorable...
Not pre-ordered yet. Waiting for a possible collector's edition. If the included content isn't worth it to me I'll prolly hold off till releaseday.
I didn't preorder, but I'm still getting this.
If there is a physical release, I will get it eventually. However, all of my money is going to the Nintendo Switch of the next few months. I'll get the new PS4 games like Horizon, Nier, etc. once they drop to about $20-30.
I am surprised Activision didn't charge $99.99 for it Or you had to buy COD to get a copy It's only £34.99 on Amazon.co.uk so I might pre-order it soon
There's deals for this at £28 atm. Good sign this'll hit the £20 range fairly quickly which will only help it sell. I'm currently debating whether to pre-order this (at £28) or buy Horizon LE at £53 (game credit subtracted from the £54) I certainly plan to buy and play both at one point.
Havent preordered yet but very interested.
Already got it Pre ordered very excited
