Destiny 2 is happening folks, and its first full trailer is here as promised. It isn't gameplay - we're sure plenty of that will be coming later - but it's a pretty rousing video all the same. With the Earth's last city destroyed and all of your resources gone, Guardians must join together to stop the Cabal onslaught. It's do or die as Zavala and Cayde try to rally their troops.
Oh, and the PlayStation 4 beta has been confirmed. You'll need to pre-order the game to get access.
Are you hyped for Destiny 2? Look forward to all that loot in the comments section below.

Haha, very good actually. Was gunna moan that there was no gameplay but enjoyed that.
Edit: Although, Cabal, groooan, my least favourite enemy to slaughter. Hopefully they'll be a bit more interesting as a race this time round though.
I'll think about preordering as its inevitable I'll be getting this anyway. Looking back Destiny was just awesome, sometimes.
That sounds really cool. Nice change of pace!
This is like a beat-for-beat Marvel superhero trailer. How can something be injected with so much personality and yet still seem so bland?
Thought whilst pre orders - "please don't burn me this time"
@get2sammyb It's just hard to reconcile the vibe it's going for against Destiny as we know it. I guess it isn't easy to reinvent yourself. I get what you mean though, TKK felt very forced in that respect and I think this will do too. But it's forgivable as it will excel in other areas, as it always has done.
@kyleforrester87 Well, I mean, Destiny in its launch form (I didn't play beyond the first few weeks) was a husk of nothingness really. Whereas this seems like the safest, most generic attempt at finding a "voice" imaginable.
I know it's all about the gameplay and that's fine, but I just... I just... It just makes me roll my eyes. I'm not sure what's better: the original guise or this Z-tier Deadpool nonsense.
Anyway, apologies for being a Debbie downer.
@get2sammyb I get you, maybe it won't pick up many new players - hopefully they'll do that with some awesome gameplay footage - but I think it'll resonate with the huge current player base.
Well, crap. Now I have to consider the PC version. The problem on PS4 was not enough friends on to raid with. Already have 4 of my close friends on PC interested.
That was funny haha, if there's proper single player story I think I'm gonna play this.
Not preordering until I see more.
That trailer gave me a deadpool vibe.
If it has an actual story ill get it. But not if its just another expensive horde mode
"also, there will be a ton of loot" - so, farming new caves for a shedload of green engrams?. and with the cabal back, it's difficult to see how this is going to be much different from the first game to be honest. maybe they've totally re-worked the engine/design so it'll be easier to update with new content more regularly, otherwise i think it'll fall into the same pitfalls as destiny.
@b1ackjack_ps Yep, this might help..

I absolutely loved Destiny but I can't help but feel they are going backwards with Destiny 2. They are using the same enemies, Cabal, probably the least interesting of the lot. They are injecting personality into it through just one character. Those posters look very bland as well, there is nothing on there that makes me interested in the game. I really hope they prove me wrong but it is looking very bland to me atm
I think what you all mean is ZOMGCAYDEiWILLGETYOURRAMENSHOPBACK❤
Over a million people played Destiny yesterday, a three year old game. Doesn't need any help so either buy it or don't. Some people played it a little bit in 2014 and they've seen a cinematic trailer for 2 lol it's always been about the gameplay. Anything extra is fine by me.
Very predictable considering they want to clear our inventory and 'start' again. The only 'plot' that essentially does this is if the Tower is destroyed along with all our gear etc. The Cabal to a degree makes sense as they haven't really featured that much thus far.
Still disappointing that all those thousands of hours are literally wiped away. It makes me not want to bother collecting the new versions of the Raid weaponry. Its not like we will get much use from them as in September, they will be gone in the 'new' game.
I know the 'story' was a bit weak in the first but I do understand the reason. Each 'story' mission was meant to be playable as a solo or co-op experience - essentially mini 'strikes' so that they could also be 'daily' missions too. This format didn't change - even with TTK and Rise of Iron but they did put a bit more 'depth' and cut-scene into these, stretch them out a bit and add a bit more variety than just get to the end and either defend an object against waves or beat a 'boss' which was the basic principal of most missions up until TTK. They still had this but the missions had a bit more to them.
Destiny was never meant to be Halo, CoD, BF or that 'traditional FPS' where the campaign is a play once kind of thing with a separate MP and additional Co-op. Most of these games have long missions, lots of cut scenes and quiet moments that really wouldn't work in Destiny's format and wouldn't be relatively easy to scale up for 'daily' missions or work well for those either. It was designed to make them viable for 'end game' activities too. I doubt Destiny 2 would change that. Maybe they may be able to make the lore available in game this time as opposed to reading it all on their website. I understand why people maybe disappointed by the 'campaign' if they were expecting a traditional story but I also understand why Bungie built them the way they did and tried to keep cut-scenes, dialogue heavy sequences etc to a minimum during the missions.
Its not an open world RPG like The Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 either. It does borrow some elements but the worlds are designed to house missions, public events, free roam, strikes and raids. They are not true MMO's as each world has public areas with a limited number of people able to occupy each zone.
Personally I had hoped that Destiny would constantly expand outwards. Destiny 2 would be a Destiny sized expansion more than a 'separate' game. New places on Earth maybe also on the moon, Venus and Mars too and add in Mercury and some of the moons like Europa etc and eventually we as Guardians fight back the Darkness and reclaim our Solar System. The director (the map) gradually builds up with subsequent games/expansions to include all the content and all accessible. Its not as if we haven't had to install all those games, expansions etc on our HDD so could be accessed with the 'new' game.
I was actually pretty interested in seeing what Destiny 2 had to offer, but the teaser trailer really doesn't get me excited in the slightest. I might be on my own here but I actually loved the quiet, slow, understated and desolate tone of the original. Adding this much humour to it just seems cheap, and apart from Cayde himself the character design elsewhere just looks dull and not nearly as futuristic as it should be. I desperately want to be excited for Destiny 2 as I loved the gameplay of the original, but I'm preparing myself for disappointment at the moment, to be honest. I can just imagine it being 'Destiny meets Battlefield' and if that happens I'm not gonna go anywhere near it.
Huge fan of Destiny, so it's a pre-order for me. Really can't understand the hate the game has garnered.
@BAMozzy wat? Jus buy it dude
