It was supposed to release last year so it's no surprise to see Gran Turismo Sport's beta looking more polished than a showroom supercar. The sampler launched for a select number of players in North America today and already streams are starting to pop up around the web. While we're sure better quality footage will emerge over the coming days, the above hour is well worth taking a look at.
Basically the game's looking really good. In addition to arguably some of the best lighting you'll find on the PlayStation 4, we're also pleasantly surprised by the sounds which have been significantly enhanced, and the physics look pretty bloody great based on what we've seen so far as well. We can't help but wonder when this is coming out to be honest. Sony must be rubbing its hands together in anticipation.

It's great to see this game turning out so well. The footage looks great and I'm sure it will be worth the wait... I just wish we had a release date/window!
I signed up for beta and didn't get accepted. Booo! π
@ellsworth004 same lol I'm always torn when I don't get into beta's.
This game looking great, I hope this get's released sometime this year. I missed out on the beta, but it's fine as long as the full game gets released sometime soon.
@wittypixel I've only ever applied for a few betas because I usually don't know when they are being released. Is there any place that give u a list of upcoming betas u can sign up for?
Yep, I've never got onto a single Sony beta either. Would be nice if there was a way they could see who actually played 1000's of hours over all the Gran Turismo series and dish them out that way.
Anyway, can't wait for this. Really can't wait to try the VR section.
Looking great, be proud Polyphony.
The last GT I played was the very first on the PS1 & sank hundreds of hours into it, & im not even much of a racing fan..! Looking forward to this.
Someone needs to have a word with that guy. That is not how you pronounce Renault.
Looks swish. Might have to explore the wheel options, can't see me getting this to play with a controller..
I hope it comes out this year :-/ You never know with a GT game
@Carl-G exactly! )) last January I bought PS4 and t300rs wheel in waiting for gt while announced for early beta. Now 14 months after beta really came lol
This game is going to look amazing on the Pro. That said sim racing games do nothing for me.
@Splat Gran Turismo isn't really a sim racer, more a car porn game
@ellsworth004 I use different PlayStation news websites basically to discover lot's of beta's. once in a while i use google, but rarely.
@wittypixel Thanks, anymore this is the only site I really look at. I think because this site doesn't allow bad language it makes the articles and comment sections alot better, not just someone cursing just to be cursing or trying to be funny. I've never looked but maybe there is a forum on this site that discusses upcoming betas. I'll have to check. π
Looks only sightless better than Project Cars but the sounds and physics wont be nowhere near it. As PC2 is in production. I will skip this already outdated game.
Well that just looks flippin' marvellous, I've not played any GT since 3 on the PS2 which I sunk a lot of time into. Was mostly playing Forza since 2 which is also great. The PS4 has not really awash with good sim(like) racing titles, PC was ok but felt quite bland or clinical. This is the first GT iteration in a while that has made me want to play it, could well be an accessories seller too..
So glad it got delayed.
@ellsworth004 yea agree, a lot of sites with "disqus" have toxic garbage and people sounding like animals yelling at one another.
basically inactive moderation.
