Telltale Games' take on Guardians of the Galaxy will rocket to the PlayStation 4 starting 18th April, the developer has announced. It'll be followed by a retail release β including digital access to all episodes β on 2nd May in North America and 5th May in Europe.
The first episode, Tangled Up in Blue, will cost you $4.99 if you purchase it standalone β but obviously there'll be an option to buy the entire season up front as well. Uncharted lead Nolan North will play Rocket Raccoon in this one, while Friday Night Lights' Scott Porter will also star.

I'm sure the game will be fun. However I can't shake the feeling telltale are just looking for instant money makers these days. Not to detract from the potential quality of the game, just... DO WOLF AMONG US SERIES 2!! Lol
Ah, Telltale, no wonder I never heard of it, I thought for a second we were getting an action game.
Anybody else think we are getting a lot less movie games than we used to? I know most licensed games tend to suck, but it feels like decades ago a lot of movies coming out had video games attached, and now it feels like very few do. Maybe that's a good thing as many of them sucked, or maybe b/c a lot of them got subsumed into Lego Dimensions and Disney Inifinty, but it seems like few of the Marvel movies get games outside of Lego. Kong Skull Island looks like it could have been a fun beat'em up playing as Kong. Logan might have made a nice Last of Us type game. The Hunger Games trilogy seems ready made for a Kill zone type game.
I know 1080p games are expensive so the risk to reward isn't there, but it seems like less movie games. Less games over all really. Maybe somebody could make a "Wolverine on Kong Island" game similar to the new Castlevania games? π
Well at least we're getting another Shadow of Mordor so that's something, movie games 10 years after the movies.
I just preordered today when I saw 15.99 US for the season pass with plus right now. That is an awesome deal especially since the retail version is 29.99. Haven't picked up a Telltale game in a little while so I'm excited.
Is there a gameplay trailer anywhere?
I'm looking forward to this but I'll wait on reviews and the release schedule for the rest of the episodes before picking it up. Tales from the Borderlands was great so I'm hoping for more of the same.
I just can't seem to get into these tell take games for some reason. I don't know if it's the lack of action or, from what I've seen, how linear these games seem to be. But then I see where all these people love these games so maybe I'm missing something.
As long as they keep releasing these games without all the episodes on them I won't buy them. I want to own a whole game, not just a demo, and I refuse to buy digital games.
