Just like the PS4, Sony is also releasing firmware updates for the PlayStation VR headset. But how you update the virtual reality device's system software? In this guide, we show you how.
How to Update PlayStation VR's system software
Here's how to download the latest firmware update for PlayStation VR:
Connect Your PlayStation VR Headset to the PS4
Hook the PlayStation VR headset up to your PS4 in exactly the same way as you would when you're about to play a game on it. The console will prompt you to update the device's system software if there's a new update out, but assuming you miss this prompt, then the following steps will explain how to do it manually.
Update the PlayStation VR Device Software
From the PS4 home screen, go to Settings > Devices > PlayStation VR > PlayStation VR Device Software. Click on 'Update PlayStation VR Device Software', click 'Next', and finally 'Update'. Your console and PlayStation VR headset will restart multiple times while the new software downloads and is installed, but upon completion you should have the latest system software installed on your PlayStation VR headset.

I am stacked at work but I tried a 3d movie quickly last night (Mad Max: Fury Road). The resolution is not as good as TV, obviously but wow does it feel immersive. Genuinely felt like being in the cinema. Happy with the update.
