Poor old Harvest Moon's had its thunder stolen by Stardew Valley somewhat, hasn't it? A Wonderful Life launched as a PS2 Classic on the PlayStation 4 this week, and we captured the super slow first 15 minutes so that you can see how it looks on Sony's new-gen console. It's definitely dated, but it's got a certain charm don't you think? This one's out now with full Trophy support on the PlayStation Store.

loved it on GC when it's price goes down in a future sale I'll bite
Harvest moon A Wonderfull life has soul.
Interesting to see a 1st time player see where you go what you do.
If Music is too much you can turn it off in the house.
Stardew vally is a good game Harvest moon A Wonderfull life special edition is a great game unlike the Original Game Cube version this Playstation 2 port allows you to continue playing when you die and you can have a daughter as opposed to son only on the Game Cube.
Had a choice to buy Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , The Last of Us: Remastered but chose Harvest Moon®: A Wonderful Life Special Edition and Heavy rain.
Will give this a shot at some point, but had my farming fix with Stardew Valley recently. Never had a PS2 so didnt get to play this, so may well do when its on sale
So I think my fiancee would love this game... but between this or Stardew Valley, which would you recommend?
@NathanUC Stardew Valley.
Stardew valley is a great game (mainly because it's like a newer Harvest Moon), and my wife and I are addicted to it's charm, but Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life was also a great title on the PS2 and Gamecube side (own it on Gamecube). I believe Story Of Seasons took away the Harvest Moon franchise, and I really hope a new Harvest Moon comes to the PS4 (I also hope for the Sims 4), but for the time being, this title is still great, but if you're new to the gaming scene, don't get this one unless it goes down in price. Other than that, it was a day one store title to buy and download right away...shame that I won't play until I get the 'Full House' trophy in Stardew Valley.
@get2sammyb Just out of curiosity about Stardew Valley...the switch is getting a version that adds 2-player support...do you know if there will be an update for that on the PS4???
@JLPick Yeah, it's a timed exclusive to Switch, so it's inevitably coming to everything afterwards.
@JLPick Story of Season is Harvest Moon, they just lost the name but it's the same series. As for two player Stardew Valley I believe that Switch gets it in summer so I am thinking others will be getting it next year maybe winter the earliest.
@get2sammyb Anyword if Harvest Moon Save the Homeland will get the same treatment as Wonderful Life on PS4? That was my favorite HM on PS2.
@Tasuki It seems very likely. Here's what Natsume wrote on Facebook:
"We're very excited that as part of the 20th anniversary of Harvest Moon, we have been working closely with Sony on some titles for their PS2 on PS4 program. While we can't reveal quite yet when these titles will be coming, we can say the first one will be SOON! Stay tuned to our Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram for more news on these titles and more 20th anniversary celebrations, including contests and Throwback Thursday posts featuring your favorite titles from years past."
The fact that they say the "first one is coming soon" (which turned out to be A Wonderful Life) suggests that more are on the way.
@get2sammyb Nice!! That does sound like it's a possibility.
@Tasuki Hopefully The River King will be another title added!!!
@JLPick I am ashamed to say I never played that series.
@Tasuki It wasn't as great as Harvest Moon, but it was still enjoyable, and you could definitely see the Harvest Moon-style in the game play too. Not a bad game, and hopefully (they made one for PS1, Gameboy Advance, DS and PS2) it actually is resurrected in some way.
The PS2 version had notoriously long load times back in the day, if they fixed those then this could be the definitive version, one of the best in the series.
