Keep your hockey masks handy, as asymmetrical multiplayer title Friday the 13th: The Game is coming to camp on 26th May. The online-only release will either see you assume the role of predatory anti-hero Jason Voorhees or his prey, as you attempt to annihilate or escape respectively in this eight-player game of homicidal hide-and-seek.
The release date trailer shows how you can expect a ton of cosmetic content across all of the cast members, in addition to three maps inspired by iconic locales like Camp Crystal Lake, Higgins Haven, and Packanack Lodge. The presentation looks a little rough around the edges, but if the balance is good then this could be a lot of fun.

Nice, been waiting for this game since it was announced. As a fan of 80's slasher flicks this will be a day one purchase.
It's a shame there's not a month with a Friday on the 13th until October.
There'll be a single player mode added on later as well.
I used to love all the 80s horror films, and this looks more than half decent, but I just can't see it selling well.
I'm guessing that it will be free on playstation plus sometime in the next 6 months.
Its a Shame theres no single player story mode on release or else it would be a day one buy for me.
Press X to Jason.
Yes...been waiting for this game, and even though the graphics look like they came from PS3, it'll be nice to play as Jason and go nuts! I wonder if there will be a section where, after Jason is defeated, Freddy will reach up and grab the mask?
Anyways, does anyone actually know what really happened to the Child's Play game that was in the works for the PS3 a few years ago?
@get2sammyb October would have been a good time for it...close to Halloween and on Friday the 13th. Would be really nice if it came with a little bonus too...a Jason statue, or controller skin with blood on it. I maybe a little Jason fan (Freddy is my favorite), but I'd get this game no matter what (just like I still own the Freddy and the Jason one on the NES in mint condition...yup, two copies of each).
@JLPick I am guessing two things since all I get from looking around for Child's Play video game and all I find is a mobile game.
A) Lost of license and got cancelled
B) It somehow turned into the mobile game.
You've really outdone yourselves with the puns here guys. Kudos.

Paramount missed a huge opportunity with not releasing the 13th Friday the 13th movie on Friday the 13th in 2013.
There were 2 of them in 2013 December and September.
This was a opportunity they will never get again and they ignored it.
I thought this got cancelled...
@MoorePs4 There is only this and dead by daylight which have this style of game and there are a lot of horror fans out there. Added to the fact its Jason it has potentially a big audience.
@KitsuneNight Yeah thats not why the franchise failed on its reboot.
Your picture show the PS4 controller and hockey mask so I thought there would be some mention about that within the article. So what the relevance of showing it?
I am suprised at the price of the game its coming in at $10 more than Dead by Daylight and really I can not see where the extra value comes from.
My mate's excited for this but I doubt i'll be buying it though, is it a full price game? It sound's very limited like Evolved, i'd be tempted at a £40 tag in the PS store.
I'm definitely excited for this, looks brutal! I'm going to hold back this time though and wait for some reviews before pre-order, I'm never doing that again after the Andromeda farce. The online games are going to be so tense, shame there's only 3 maps though? And I would feel more comfortable if the single player was actually included in the release rather than waiting foor it
@dryrain true mate, I'll wait and see what it's like 🖒
Good luck on that "balance" thing. Have you watched the movies? Jason is, and I quote, "an unstoppable killing machine". There can't possibly be a way to stay true to the movies while keeping combat fair. The whole situation is inherently unfair to anyone who isn't Jason.
@Rockman55 I think the idea of the game is to avoid Jason and escape the camp. Not sure if you can kill him?
Looks like it could be a really fun game at a budget price.
