Following on from the game's new story trailer, Square Enix put together a Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age livestream earlier today which featured a load of gameplay footage from the PlayStation 2 remaster. We've embedded an archive of the stream above - just skip to around the 34 minute mark for the first slice of gameplay. The second starts at 58 minutes.
What's immediately evident is just how good it looks - the developer's really managed to do the original release justice. Final Fantasy XII was a gorgeous role-playing title back in the day, so it's great to see that its art style and attention to detail have stood the test of time - partly thanks to a little high definition polish, of course.
We can't wait to jump back into this one, but are you as hyped as we are? Go on a grand adventure in the comments section below.

Oh, interesting thing around the 43 minute mark: not only there are 12 licence boards instead of one this time around but we can actually have TWO jobs for every character. When you advance in the licence plate of the first job you selected you will unlock a special icon that allow you to activate a second job. These jobs can't be changed and are very unique so..it will be a very different experience with XII. The story and Van/Penelo will still be terribland but I am a big fan of the game itself and the gameplay of Zodiac Age looks even more interesting than the original.
p.s. The three peeps - woman included - spend a long time showcasing Fran and Penelo's bottoms and have a bafflingly long conversation about their perks. I swear. Only in Japan.
I'm probably not going to bother. The most boring Final Fantasy of the lot. Even XIII had the good grace to make you push buttons occasionally.
How does anyone keep up with these games? You need a darn degree in roman numerals for starters -_-
