There was a period during the PlayStation Portable era where Japan Studio was pumping out some brilliant handheld titles, but they never really got the traction that they deserved. LocoRoco was one such game, a punctual little platformer that looked lovely and played great. And now, in case you missed the memo, it's set to make a comeback on the PlayStation 4 from 9th May.
That date was already announced, but it was quickly brushed under the carpet, so consider this a timely reminder. Much like PaRappa the Rapper Remastered, the game will run in 1080p (or 4K on the PS4 Pro) and will include full Trophy support. Of course, the platform holder's saving the best remaster until last: the excellent rhythm role-playing game Patapon is still to come later in the year.

I had no idea what LocoRoco was until we got 1 of the games on the PS3 w/ PS+. I don't think I ever finished it, but maybe I did, but it was really fun what I played. I'd recommend it to my kids. Or, you know, they could just play the version we have w/ PS+, probably close enough. On 2nd thought, I don't think we got it w/ PS+ but as a settlement for downtime after the PSN went down for 2 months.
@rjejr The one on PS3 wasn't a proper LocoRoco game; it was more like an interactive screensaver...
LocoRoco is so good. Really pleased it's getting a rerelease. Same for Patapon too!
Already got this on psp and vita, will buy this for my pro
I hope there's preorder discount like parappa.
@wiiware There is in Europe for sure.
@get2sammyb interactive screensaver.
Really, I thought it was a fun and challenging Pikminesque platformer. I wonder if Hey Pikmin will play like it? Anyway, if Corecho was simply an interactive screensaver then maybe I should check this one out, must be crazy.
@rjejr "The LocoRoco are back in this easy to play new interactive screensaver! And this time there are more than 200, 10 times more than in previous versions of the title. This is a simple, entertaining game, filled with gameplay elements of the original game but now enhanced by the new Sixaxis tilt functionality for a brand new rolling and bouncing experience."

@get2sammyb Holy crud, it really was an "interactive screensaver". Well that explains why I finished it, I recall beating the final boss now, yet it was so short.
People must have had lower standards back then b/c I think that I had more fun w/ that "interactive screensaver" than I just had completing Gears of War Remastered. Or maybe it was GoW Ultimate Edition? Something.
Thanks, guess I'll look forward to getting this one then if that was just a taste.
Loco Roco 2 as well please, midnight carnival was really difficult though!
