Innovative horror title Perception – in which you play a blind girl utilising echolocation to navigate a haunted house – will illuminate the PlayStation 4 on 30th May, a new trailer has revealed. The game comes courtesy of ex-BioShock and Dead Space developers, so there's pedigree here, and while these type of survival horror titles have been dime a dozen of late, this one is bringing something new to the dilapidated table.
Basically, the game requires you to tap a cane on the ground in order to "see" your surroundings courtesy of sound. It doesn't lend to the greatest art style, but it does create a neat risk/reward mechanic: make too much noise and you'll alert the attention of antagonists, but don't make any noise and you won't be able to see where you're going. It's a cool concept – it's just a shame it's coming so soon after a spate of other decent horror titles.

When I use echolocation it looks completely different! I wonder who their consultant is?
I'm kinda getting Saya no Uta vibes from it.
