We're entering the quiet build-up to E3 2017 now, where genuine news slows and teases increase. The number of big new titles also takes a tumble, although there's never any shortage of software on the PlayStation 4, is there? We suspect that the next half-dozen issues of WAYP are going to be more about backlogs, but with this year already playing host to several must-play games, that's no bad thing.

I think I can say that I'm dealing with the anti-christ in Outlast 2. I'm also still slogging my way through Mass Effect: Andromeda, though my general apathy means my progress has slowed to a crawl now.

This weekend I'll be digging into the terribly overlooked Toukiden 2. I was a big fan of Toukiden: Kiwami so I had high hopes for this sequel, and honestly, it's even better than I expected. If you're a fan of Japanese action role-playing games, then I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I'm going to carry on my pagie hunting escapades in Yooka-Laylee this weekend. Although I'm having fun with it, I want to get it done and dusted before I lose myself once again in the gorgeous Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Life will be like a hurricane here for me as I play The Disney Afternoon Collection mostly Ducktales and Chip N Dale. Multiplayer wise I will be hitting Call of Duty: Black Ops II. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
It's the question we ask more than any other: what are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

I am spending the weekend in Velen, Novigrad etc as I am reacquainting myself with the Witcher 3. This time the Game of the Year edition on PS4
Mainly Zelda Botw for me. If I get time I am between big games for Ps4. Have started Jazzpunk simply because it has been on my backlog and is an easy plat. Need to decide on my next big game but after Horizon and Hyper Light Drifter it needs to be pretty special. Torn between waiting for Farpoint, or getting Nier or Resi 7. Or just hitting the backlog which is getting massive.
Having a blast with nier automata.A huge improvement on the original. Also playing ff 10 remastered.
I think I can finish up inFamous 2nd Son this weekend. Finished Gears of War Ultimate last night and man was it weird playing those 2 games at the same time. Graphically they look similar, but one is all about never moving and one is all about never stopping, made me think.
Prolly finishing Gravity Rush 2 plus a lil bit of BF1.
I'm in work
So to cheer up I'm going to play some Yakuza Zero later as it's the best thing since Dairylea dunkers.
Enjoy the weekend everyone! Sun at last!
PS4: Persona 5
PSVita: Metal Gear Solid
Persona 5 has overtaken NiOh & is right now my GOTY. I surely must be at the end now with 115+ hours, but I'm jumping straight into NG+. Not ready to stop my Phantom Thief escapades. That platinum will be mine.
On Vita I just beat PsychoMantis. I absolutely did not look up how to beat him after an hour of utter failure...
Turns out you can change controllers on Vita... -_-
Persona 5 and Persona 5
With bouts of Gravity Rush 2 thrown in.
Literally just finished Horizon on this sunny saturday afternoon. Deliberating on whether to dive into Persona or wrap up some other loose ends first. The Last Guardian has sat unfinished since Christmas
Persona 5. I've become a huge Phantom Thieves fan and would love another Persona game with these characters in it, as long as they aren't dancing all night.
76 hours in and getting depressingly close to the end of Persona 5. I also keep meaning to jump into the new Ghost Recon DLC but every time I come to my PS4 I can't resist booting up P5. I'm addicted.
Still playing nier automata, want to clear all the side mission first before playing the main mission. I think I like this game better than bayonetta 2, this is my favorite platinum games
I'm giving Persona a rest and back on the awesome Nier. Double header at the cinema tonight, Beauty and the Beast (boo!) followed by Ghost in the Shell (yay!)
Finally got my 4kOLED tv after what seems like such a long wait. I calibrated it for standard TV and cable just got to do it for my pro, I'm using the settings from digital foundry on YouTube so can't wait till that's done. Then I guess I'll be trying as many patched 4k HDR games as possible.
Same rotation as the last few weeks. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and some MLB The Show 17.
Nothing i don't have anything to play since finishing Horizon π© Thinking about picking up Nier
@Fight_Teza_Fight How you finding MGS?!
@KratosMD
What a gem of a series Nihon Falcom created. The world building, the NPCs, the lore of it all is quite impressive. I started back with Trails in the Sky on my PSP and now I wholeheartedly support their RPG releases. Will be supporting Tokyo Xanadu EX+ and Ys VIII but boy I can't wait for the Western release of Cold Steel III, just gives me old school RPG vibes. Wish more gamers would jump into the series, it can be a little trope-ish and typical in some aspects but from a developer of their size they deserve to be commended.
PS4- Disney Afternoon collection, Megaman Legacy collection, WWE 2K17, King of Fighters 14, Garou Mark of the Wolves, Street Fighter V, and the Last of Us
3DS- Monster Hunter 4, Monster Hunter Generations, and Animal Crossing.
I won't get to all of those but that's want I want to play.
I'll be continuing Final Fantasy VII with some Wipeout HD Fury this weekend. I just got to Costa del Sol yesterday, and overall I've been enjoying it so far (barring the section where you pose as a soldier in Junon, that was a pace breaker). Thankfully, I've managed to get into the plot and characters despite having the major story beats spoiled for me for years.
As for Wipeout HD, I've been enjoying that too. I love how fast paced the racing can get, although it takes quite some getting used to. Right now, tracks like Chenghou Project and Sebenco Climb are a headache for me. Hopefully I'll clear the campaign before Omega Collection hits.
PS3 - Mass Effect Trilogy
PS4 - Ghost Recon (co-op), Kingdom Hearts Remix, The Silver Case, The Last of Us
XB1 - Red Dead Redemption
NSW - Zelda BotW
PSV - P4G
Wii U - Mario 3D World
3DS - Yoshi and Poochy Wooly World
What little bit of time I do play, outside of hitting the movies with friends or watching playoff basketball will be on the Playstation or Switch.
Going back to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
@kyleforrester87 I'm really enjoying it. Really glad I finally took the plunge. Bit annoyed that I can only use one item at a time. I'm crawling through a gased floor & I have to take my gas mask off just to use a key card?
The boss fights are unique to say the least haha & the writing is fantastic.
I actually save the cutscenes for my commute.
Meryl needs to give Snake some space though. Needy as hell! They only just met!
Snake has no need for attachments.
Spectre of Torment on Wii U.
Maybe some Sonic Generations on PC.
@Fight_Teza_Fight The only attachments Snake needs are his cigerettes and a suppressor for his SOCOM. Enjoy, you got some good story coming!
Persona 5 on PS4.
Yoshi's Wooly World on Wii U.
Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS.
VA-11 Hall-A on PC.
And although I've technically already beaten it, I want to go for Velocity 2X's platinum trophy on my Vita.
I'll mainly be focusing on Persona 5, though. It's hard to really care about anything else right now.
@Neolit
Breath of the Wild is a fantastic game. I was expecting to like it, but I didn't expect it to make me put everything else to the side. I was really into Horizon: Zero Dawn, since getting BotW? Haven't gone back and probably won't for a little while yet. MLB The Show is the only game that can pull me away from BotW on occasion. Even if there weren't any games of interest coming out for the Switch from now until whenever Super Mario Odyssey releases the purchase is still 100% justified by BotW. It's that good.
@KratosMD Who knows mate, not even sure myself!
@Neolit BotW is amazing on the Switch. I played nothing else for a period of three weeks or so, and took it with me everywhere. If there is one game that sold me on the value of portability for home console games, it's that one.
Mainly playing Minecraft and Earth Defense Force 4.1 Shadow of New Despair.
I'll be doing some more Horizon which I'm right at the end now unfortunately. Was determined to get the plat for this game but I have wasted so much time looking for those power orbs and failing I think I'll just call it quits.
Also will be playing World Of Final Fantasy,Persona 5 and some VR
@KratosMD I played the first Trails of Cold Steel when it launched and loved it despite not being a fan of the voice acting but I put well over 90 hours into it and was really excited about the sequel but I still haven't got round to buying it yet mainly because I hardly use the ps3 but also cuz my backlog is so huge.Is the sequel that much bigger and better than the original?seeing recent pics of the 3rd one for ps4 has got me thinking about the franchise again
For me I work this weekend both Sat and Sun so my gaming time will be limited but when I have a little time it will be spent like last night on Persona 5. Just finished the third palace and really loving this game at about 35 hours in. Also may finish the last cauldron in Horizon if I get the chance.
gone back to Batman Arkham Knight to clean up the last few riddles & to take down Riddler another poor boss fight from Rocksteady, started the Season of Infamy too took down Croc, Hatter & did Freezes mission it hasn't been to bad but like much of the AK DLC it's missions are criminally short
I'm hoping to do some progress on Horizon's main quest. Also, I'm going back to Yarnham to continue my hunt after a long break with some Overwatch in between. Gotta get those Uprising skins.
@kyleforrester87 I made a deal with my wife back in February that I'd take her see Beauty and the Beast if we went to see Logan first. It's wasn't too bad to be honest, but oh man, be prepared for a lot, and I mean a lot, of singing.
@F-racsO ....greaaaat lol. Starts in 10 minutes, see you on the other side haha.
@kyleforrester87 @F-racsO I made a similar deal and I ended up love Beauty & The Beast
Hoping to get the Snake Pass platinum this weekend (just need to beat every level without dying) and then might go a little further into Yooka-Laylee myself as well if I get time.
Beauty and the Beast was terrible. One of the worst films I've seen this year. Some of the casting is disastrous (can't think of a less fitting person to play Belle than Emma "Smirky" Watson)! Dropped subplots, cringy dialogue, unnecessary new songs... BLEGH!
Not long finished Final Fantasy XV. So going to move on to Horizon this weekend.
I'd tell you what I'm playing tonight...but...
You'll never see it coming!
Well, unless Morgana says "Let's not do that today"
@kyleforrester87 see you on the other side soldier π
@GlynCR I thought it was a decent film. I wasn't sold on Emma Watson as Belle but she did good. The CGI was very good too.
Still playing BOTW, after beating it last Sunday. Such an amazing and polished game, the climb anywhere approach makes it so fresh and so explorable. And still so much to do.
I recently started Kingdom Hearts 1.5 on PS3, not really impressed. Even if it is an action RPG it still feels too grindy for my tastes. I am having a better time with the Afternoon Collection.
And by some weird reason (it's my love of Miku, I know) I am returning to Diva X to try to get some more trophies.
I found myself going back to ESO - and I hate myself for it. Its such a gigantic time waster as it just goes on and on and on (etc) and I have so many other games to play.
I planned on playing some Wolfenstein that I got on that last PSN sale for about $7, but after an hour.. it felt so irritating I angrily deleted it. There goes the cost of a few cups of coffee I will never be able to buy now. :
@KratosMD Ah yes, that ending...tbh I couldn't wait either but as I had plenty of great games and still do,it must of slid to the back of my mind..if only I had more time to play..
Sounds great though,I did wonder what would happen in the sequel regarding the school life aspect of it.Will definitely pick it up at some point..unless they do a pre order Trails Of Cold Steel 3 on PS4 and get the PS3 to PS4 port of Cold Steel 2
I'm going to enjoy Uncharted 4 on my new PS4 Pro.
@Fight_Teza_Fight
Fantastic game, I was hoping I was half way through having clocked up 50 hours so far. Sounds like I still have a way to go, not that it's a bad thing, I am loving it.
Top marks if you get the platinum in this, looks quite a commitment.
For me, it's more Persona 5 too, with the odd blast on Flinthook as a palate cleanser. I am always surprised at how many games people juggle as once in these comment sections, I can only ever focus on one game at a time really.
Hey guys, has anyone ever lost PS3 games from their instant game collection? I did have over 100 in my downloads, now I only have 18. Any help appreciated.
@Fight_Teza_Fight How can you swap controllers on Vita? Pretty awesome actually but kind of silly on the Vita. Maybe psychomantis can have you using the back TouchPad or something instead.
@KratosMD @kyleforrester87 haha nice try Kyle, that's an avatar swap if ever I saw one. Nice one made me look twice. Enjoy your films.
I'm hooked on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. For whatever reason, I'm very good at it, and it's a lot of fun.
@LobsterJohnson weird. What happens when you go back to a game on the PlayStation store that you used to have on your downloads? Does it try to make you pay for it?
Just finished The Last Guardian it's the best game on this generation by far, enough said.
Playing Nier on PS4 another masterpiece from Platinum Games Japanese games are shining like diamonds these days and i'm so happy about that, I LOVE JAPAN:)
@ztpayne7 hi, I just checked a couple of games I definitely owned and it is possible for me to download them if I do a search. I just don't understand how they have just disappeared off the download list.
@Ralizah Velocity 2X is awesome loved it on PS4 and the controls are even better on vita.
@Enuo I played the first two chapters on PS4 Pro and really disappointed with the results:( for example shadow quality is one of the weak points in U4 on original PS4 and it's untouched on Pro, everything is the same beside Resolution.
Sony needs to support PS4 Pro more and way better than what is going on right now.
@GlynCR @F-racsO @themcnoisy best bit was when some guys came in 10 minutes before the end of the film with full boxes of popcorn demanding some guys next to us get out of their reserved seats. They sat down and watched for a few minutes before realising they were in the wrong screen and took the walk of shame out hahah.
@THEONE19 It's pretty perfect on Vita, just like Velocity Ultra. I don't like it quite as much as the previous game, but it's still a good, addictive time that leaves my hands aching at the end of the day.
@Lovespuds Yh I don't expect to be playing anything else for the next month or so. Helps that the game is bloody brilliant !
@themcnoisy When running the game, holding down the PS button gives access to the MGS settings. From there on you can change or customise controllers.
Didn't even know that was a thing till I looked it up- couldn't get a single hit on him.
Got myself a new LG 49" 4k tv from Easter sale and playing diablo 3, elderscrolls online and fallout 4. 4k tv is frikkin gorgeous upscaling HD!! Can't wait to trade up for a PS4 Pro! 4k is the future!!
@Fight_Teza_Fight @themcnoisy yeah adjusting controller is awesome. You can turn the right stick into l1 and r1 for modern 3D camera control in games like Spyro/FF on the world map. Also you can put the dpad onto the left stick to use the analouge stick for movement. Made games I'd consider unplayable so much better.
Kingdom Hearts 2 1.5-2.5 HD Final Remix, just finishing the last Data Org XIII boss Xemnas. Xemnas One is easy as you can out right kill him once his health is half way down, the moment you go into the building RC. Xemnas two is a bit tricky to get in on him , & stopping him from grabbing you.
Once i've platinum KH2 i'll try Yooka-Laylee before moving on to KH Birth By Sleep.
@kyleforrester87 I wish interesting things like that happened when I go to the movie theatre lol
Just got Mass Effect so going to chip away at that mostly. Also playing the Portal knights demo and the Marvel Heroes beta with my kids. Should be a good one!
I might play one the games from the humble bundle and then the spongebob squarepants movie game on gamecube (if I can find it!)
Evil Within and Heart of Stone.
Wonderboy the Dragons Trap
might try to complete bulletstorm full clip edition as duke nuke em
@Boxmonkey pick up Nier. You won't regret it.
This weekend I'm working unfortunately. So very little time for gaming. I did manage to find time to finish Uncharted 4 on hard, next stop Crushing.
@THRILLHOU think I'll pick it up today ππ» I cheated the crushing trophy on uncharted 4 because I'm lazy π©π
Lego marvel super Heroes with my girlfriend and securing my gold league position in alienation. Dont have enough time to squeeze into platinum though.
Persona 5 and ...FFXIV >_< My friends talked me into giving it a try since it's free until level 35 now. I hope it doesn't take over my life.
Maybe a couple of sanctuaries in Zelda (I want to get all 120 of them!) but P5 really has my attention.
Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2, XIII Lightning Returns, Tales of Symphonia, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Mario Kart 8.
@Wazeddie22 The second game is WAY bigger and better and the gameplay is far more refined and feature-packed than in the first game!
The first game is essentially a prologue to the second and third games in the trilogy.
Enjoying the heck out of Tales of Berseria and NieR Automata, while kind of sad I can't also play Horizon and Yakuza at the same time - gotta stay focused though! I also picked up Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom and played a bit - that seems like a fantastic title, but until I crush Tales, I can't dive into it for real. I just wanted to support Focus and Enigami, because they've made an awesome game (especially for a Kickstarter) and hardly anyone has noticed.
Btw, thanks Robert. You reminded me I bought Toukiden 2 and have to put THAT OFF as well until I finish something on the backlog. Auuuggghhh. Plus I got Persona 5 sitting on the shelf. AND this week will bring Dragon Quest Heroes 2... this backlog needs some serious crushing. Hope you're enjoying Toukiden 2, though!
Also trying to finish up Yooka Laylee, but I'm not really having fun with it. I don't care about the camera and a lot of issues in the negative reviews are not there and/or far too harsh. Frankly, I just think its boring wandering around. Like, they're too slow or something. There's just something fundamentally lacking in Y-L's character or world design, and while it gets better as you pick up some moves, I've yet to play an objective that's really engaging or cool enough to make slowly traipsing aimlessly across a big, boring world to get to it "worth it".
Nothing, work/ internship at EY is taking its toll.
@Reanfan7 Excellent news,I noticed its on sale for about a tenner and was going to pick it up but I'm so stuck into Persona 5,World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 15 that I probably won't have time to play until much later in which case it might be on sale for a fiver
