Deformers is the next game from The Order: 1886 developer Ready at Dawn. No, really – it actually is. Look, sometimes you need a change of scenery, and after investing years into the whole cinematic shooter thing, we're not surprised that the studio has turned its attention to rolling ball… Things. And if that sounds like it's up your alley, then good news: it's set to release on 21st April.
You'll be able to purchase the title from the PlayStation Store, but there will be a retail release exclusive to GameStop including a steelbook case, four vinyl figurines, and some stickers. You'll also get a CD soundtrack, which has been composed by none other than Journey's Austin Wintory. More to the point, if you purchase during the first week of launch, you'll get the Founders Pack, which includes four bonus characters as featured in the trailer above.

I am probably in the minority but I would have really liked a sequel to The Order 1886 - just one with better gameplay and length. I enjoyed the story, the setting and visuals. It is all about financials so I guess cost vs risk etc. means it won't but, never mind.
I actually quite like the look of this, to be honest!
@JoeBlogs Yeah, I think something like an UC4 style, where you can explore and use terrain to break up the combat would work really well and still allow the story to shine through. I liked the Steampunk aesthetic.
The involvement of Wintory is a bonus and the characters have a fun aesthetic. I will wait for reviews, but I hope people do not write off the studio based on one game. Their God of War portable titles were well reviewed.
I really enjoyed The Order 1886, but this looks absolutely brilliant.
Want to know what? I'm very interested in this one and I don't know why! Just seems pretty fun to me
@Rudy_Manchego Me too. I actually really liked The Order. Was a good pace, awesome setting, amazing graphics, good length.
At the moment I'm half way through Horizon as much as it's brilliant, part of me wishes these open world games were a bit shorter as the grind soon sets in. The Order ended at a good time and for me it was quality over quantity which I'd take every time...
@Dodoo Yes, I didn't mind the length of the Order personally - it was a bit short for a full price AAA game but it had a coherent story. I think the problem was that the gameplay was so much less interesting then the world, graphics and story.
I loved Horizon but any open world, for me, means no other games for at least a month, if not two.
The Order: 1886 is fantastic. I think it will become a cult classic - how many skipped this due to mediocre reviews back when it first came out?
I recommend people pick it up now while it's cheap and marvel at the graphics and deep story. You are playing as a bad ass Knight of the Round Table in a steam-punk world! I think The Order still stands up with the best of the best in terms of graphical prettiness. The lighting effects were so well done in this game. The gun sound effects pack a punch and the shooting parts are fun.
I am praying for a sequel that will improve and expand upon everything. Remember, Assassin's Creed's and Watch Dogs' first outings weren't the greatest either.
