Hella good news here: Life Is Strange is getting a sequel. The sombre tale of Max Caulfield and Chloe Price touched over three million players when it launched episodically between January 2015 and October 2015, and developer DONTNOD has confirmed that a new entry in the series is on the way. Are we cereal? Yes.
“We can’t wait to tell you all about it when the time is right, but for now we are hard at work ensuring it is the very best game we can create,” the studio said in a blog post. “We’re really thankful for your patience thus far and ask for a bit more time. The new game will not be at E3 in June this year but we will be watching the show alongside you all and wish everyone good luck.”
Let’s not beat around the bush here: we’re beyond hyped. It’ll be interesting to see which direction the developer takes, though. Will it continue the story of the first game which seemed to wrap up quite conclusively, or will it sprout off in a different direction with a new cast?

Day one.
Would love Max and Chloe back but I suspect it'll be a new cast.
Seeing as the whole game mechanic revolves around Max, I imagine they'll keep her and expand upon her story - everyone has an investment in those characters now so it would be a shame not to use it - much like TLOU2.
@antdickens I agree, it'll be about Chloe and Max.
I can't wait. Life is Strange was on of my favorite games I played last year.
I still need to play the original eventually, but good to know it's getting a sequel.
Woot! Cannot be happier, the first one was amazing.
My wife and I are super excited for this. I got the entire game for $8 in a sale last summer. I knew nothing about it but decided to give it a shot. It's now up there for both of us as one of the best gaming experiences we've ever had.
This is great news. I loved four and a half episodes of Life Is Strange.
Awsome still gonna get the complete boxed version. But i love to see it happen the way they released was smart episodic and a full boxed version in the end.
Awesome!
Day one. Hella yes this is great news. Personally would prefer it if they scrapped the episodic release schedule though. I ended up waiting and then buying the physical limited edition once all episodes were released. I love this game
Day one here as well... Life is Strange was a complete left fielder for me but I loved every episode. Maybe no stealth sections next time though
Nice one. Life Is Strange wasn't without flaw - I'm looking at you, whoever decided to put the "find x glass bottles in the woods" segment in - but it was a great experience that really left a lasting impression.
Kind of hoped to see a completely new story here but I'm excited the developer is back to work regardless.
