Bandai Namco has decided to postpone the release of psychological horror Get Even on the PlayStation 4 until 23rd June. The title was originally intended to launch this Friday, but due to the tragic events in Manchester last night, publisher Bandai Namco has decided to push the release back out of respect to the families of victims.
A statement said: “Given recent events and out of respect we have decided to postpone the commercial release of Get Even to June 23rd. We would like to express our deepest condolences to everyone concerned.”
A bomb exploded in the immediate vicinity of Manchester’s famous MEN Arena last evening, killing 22 people and injuring many more. The team at Push Square would also like to take this opportunity to extend our thoughts to those affected.

Please can we keep the comments section calm and respectful. Remember that this is all still very raw, and be mindful of that.
Thank you.
Mad world
I'm from New York.and I feel bad for everyone in there that passed away.r.I.p.
Terrible tragedy, all we can truly do as people is keep carrying on and not be swayed by mad men.
My thoughts go out to all those affected.
It seems more real as I live not too far away from there and my wife was due to see Take That on Friday in that very arena.
We're all born with tremendous potential to achieve great things and enjoy our world and its sad that some would rather end it for themselves and others for whatever misguided reality they have created for themselves
There's banners and such up in Liverpool today. Rivalries and joking aside, nobody should go to a concert and not come home.
It's been a weird, upsetting and downright ghostly day working in and around Manchester communities today. The Great Manchester Run is this Sunday, though, and will no doubt get things kicking on again as the city comes to a bit of a standstill for it. This was probably unnecessary from Bandai Namco, but still pretty cool and and a lovely gesture.
I always find it a bit disappointing when things like this are postponed for reasons such as this although I certainly understand it.
For those that don't know, the main voice-over in the release date trailer has a Manchester accent. I don't know much more about the game - other than that it's of a psychological horror nature - but for this reason alone it seems a sensible decision to not release it just yet.
I'm not exactly sure what the connection is to this game and that bombing?
so how exactly is this game connected to Manchester? seems like the developers are based in poland. does this game have any story connection to the town or the incident, or...? otherwise it seems like kind of an excuse to move the game back..by a whole month no less o_O
Sad really, that not even a pop music concert is safe from things of this nature. My condolences, and I'll definitely be thinking twice in the future about attending a major concert, or even letting my children do so when they're older.
@manu0 perhaps there is a section of the game where something similar happens so they delayed it to not offend people
@FullbringIchigo @man0 The game, at least from the trailers, is about saving a woman who is trapped with a bomb attached to her.
Maddening event, it's worse that kids had to be drawn into it. My condolences, as little as they can do, to everyone affected.
[The enemy within]
I feel for all thats been effected as well as the fallen especially the 8 year old child. R.I.P.
A shocking and sad event indeed.Terrorism is bad enough as it is but to target a concert attended by mainly youngsters is downright sick.
My thoughts go out to all involved..
Insane that even children are not safe anymore my deepest condolences to all the affected families.
Very sad event last night and my heart goes out to all the victims and their family's. It's such a sad,messed up world we live in where even a concert is a dangerous proposition. Now saying all of that I just don't see what the point of delaying this game was maybe there's a connection I don't know about but it just seems weird not to mention we let them win in a way when we do things like this. Its like their dictating what we can watch,play,etc when we should be facing this head on while telling them to piss off
I live about 12 mile's from the city centre which my teenage daughter visit's almost every weekend, a cowardly attack by a bunch sick cowardly savage's and my thought's go out to all the victim's and their family and friend's.
@RedMageLanakyn @Xaessya @roe We recently played the start of it and there's a scene that's... Probably not appropriate given this week's events.
Things Did not get Better Tony Blair.
Nothing can replace these Kids.
@get2sammyb Did you mean to tag someone else? I wasn't questioning why they delayed the game because of this.
My sister lives 10 minutes from the Arena, what a mental world it is these days
Probably a good move for Bamco, it'll get people talking about the game a little too. I've barely heard a peep about it.
My sister and 12 year old niece were at the concert but thankfully they are okay. I remember her gettin the tickets for Christmas and being so excited to go but now she'll remeber it for all the wrong reasons.
@RedMageLanakyn Sorry, yes! Wrong button.
@ApostateMage
@SuperSilverback Hope your sister okay
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi part of life? If these bombers would be extreme right far mar actions would be taken. Heck, in muslim countries themselfs the punishments for terrorism are far worse than the West. It seems idiotic that our secret services already knows that someone was radical..
I know these are tragic events and shouldn't be happening but without trying to sound heartless or thoughtless, what actually does Get Even releasing have to do with it?
Tesco won't stop the launch of a new food range when there's been a plane crash in Asia, what's the connection here?
To all those in Manchester, all those in the UK affected, my heart goes out to you. Stand strong in the face of adversity!
As for cancelling a game release, I can understand the reason based on the 'blurb' (rescuing the hostage part) but I don't know enough about it. The cynic in me could suggest its raised the profile of this by taking this decision. Whilst its debatable whether those in attendance at the concert would buy this, a number of friends, family and of course the community would.
Anyone assuming that there can't be a reaction to these tragedies are not looking at the big picture. In an ideal world these things wouldn't happen, but even if they did, you can't 'ignore' this. Yes life must go on and you can't let terrorists win but you also need to show respect for those that lost lives, lost friends and family, the community affected. After a time of mourning, after showing respect - even delaying the release out of respect also shows that the developers and publishers are united in support - then show that we are standing strong and united, that we won't be beaten...
@BAMozzy cheers man. Even City fans have got behind us for tonight's win against Ajax. Both sets of Mancs united together. Incredible stuff.
@BowTiesAreCool And so they should! Its not 'just' Utd fans that were affected but the whole of Manchester and the UK. LFC also showed respect too as will Arsenal and Chelsea. F1 no doubt will too in Monaco. Like I said its a show of respect and support for ALL those affected - regardless of colour, religion, sporting allegiance, etc
@BAMozzy absolutely. The amount of random goodwill and support to everyone either in work or to/from strangers in the street is like nothing I've experienced before. It's absolutely horrible of course, but in a way it's lovely.
I think it is a nice gesture given the nature of the game and it could have garnered negative press for the title. Probably wasn't needed but it shows respect over such an awful event.
Smart move
