Sony has revealed your PlayStation Plus titles for June 2017, and as it turns out, the recent leak was correct. Indeed, PlayStation 4's looking at a strong offering with Life Is Strange and Killing Floor 2 leading the way. That's not bad at all, is it? Both are quite highly rated, and they each present something completely different.
Things aren't quite so solid on PlayStation 3 and Vita, but it's still a decent-ish lineup, we guess. Sony's last-gen console gets Abyss Odyssey and WRC 5: World Rally Championship, while the handheld device gets Spy Chameleon and Neon Chrome. The latter is cross-buy, so you can also nab it on PS4.
What do you think of June's offering? Debate to your heart's content in the comments section below.

Seems like a really great month, I guess it's time to get back into Killing Floor 2 and teach all you new people how to play.
Nothing for me this month as I've already played through life is Strange a couple times. Never heard of Killing Floor 2 before but watched a couple videos and it looks pretty dull and generic, will pass on that methinks. Brilliant month if you haven't played LiS though!
Life Is Strange is so good!
@get2sammyb wasn't that PS+ last month?
Decent titles but nothing I fancy.
Looking forward to Life Is Strange. I played the first episode on my laptop but since it lagged, I didn't play the others.
I'm happy that I can play the complete series on PS4!
I might give Killing Floor 2 a try but I'm not sure if I would like it. But it's a decent offering anyway.
A solid month for PS4 owners. I hope the next months would be as good as this one.
@THRILLHOU Same here although none of the games are bad, they just happen to be ones i'm not interested in
Terrible month.
Yeah happy with those would have bought LiS if my backlog wasn't so bad and WRC gives me reason to turn on PS3.
Meh don't really care for Life Is Strange, but I definitely am excited for KF2.
Dang, what a great list of games. Probably the first month in years that has games I've actually been looking forward to play!
Pretty blah, would love to get a multiplayer game that casuals would play so I could lure my friends in. Most of them never bother even adding these plus games to their library.
Not saying life is strange is bad, but I bought it heavily discounted many months ago so not a great value freebie.
Been waiting for life is strange to get free on plus so I'm happy.
Spy chameleon looks interesting too.
Abyss Odyssey looks pretty well reviewed so that could be worth a look as well.
I have Neon Chrome on PC and I've really enjoyed it.
Like I said, I wasn't quite sold on KF2 during a free weekend, but LiS definitely interests me. PS3 offers a pretty delicious lineup even though I can't play it. But I'll certainly try out the Vita titles as well.
@artemisthemp Tales from the Borderlands last month.
Wow Sony, that June PS+ list is hella lit
dabs
@FullbringIchigo I'm a 36 year old man, so Life is Strange really doesn't appeal to me. Not knocking it, but I'd rather watch Mad Men than 13 Reasons Why, if you get me.
Sony pinches off another loaf.
Pretty good month, life is strange is interesting since I heard the story is good.
Not for me. I'm with @THRILLHOU on this one. Would not play Life is Strange for free. My time is more valuable.
I really don't see the appeal.
Not beating about the bush but this is not appealing at all to me. Maybe because I am in my 40's, maybe because I also have Games with Gold to compare and play. I know I would rather play Watchdogs, despite the criticisms that received, than any of these. Throw in Dragon Age and Assassins Creed - albeit Backwards Compatible versions (if that matters) appeals a LOT more.
At most I may download Killing Floor 2 - just to play with friends but its not something I would ever consider buying for myself.
I only own LiS amongst this group and I am keen to try the PS3 selections, so pretty decent month for me.
@THRILLHOU So am I but in my heart, I still feel like an over privileged American teenage girl. Joking aside, I loved the game.
@booshy89 worth a shot is it mate and What would you rate Spy Chameleon out of 10? With Wipeout and Nex Machina ordered, Persona 5 and Beserk on my shelf, Batman Telltale and Ratchet currently being played. If it's less than 8 Boosh then it can wait lol.
@BAMozzy We know you love your AAA games, but not having a crack on LiS is missing out on a really really good story.
Funnily Bam I was thinking about this earlier running through my library, I'm considering if you would like the witness?
@nhSnork It looks like the rumoured full lineup that you mentioned was 100% accurate!
@Ralizah If you have Vita or PSTV I highly recommend downloading Spy Chameleon! I initially wrote it off, but it turns out it's actually quite good.
@get2sammyb The lineup is still better than last month's for me. WRC 5 looks to be a solid retail title miles ahead of the previous games in the series while both Vita games are PSTV compatible unlike last month where neither Vita title was! ^^
Edit: Oops I thought you were the one who wrote the article, but it was @Shogunrok! Move along, nothing to see here...>>
@Reanfan7 I still prefer my Vita to the PS4. Better UI and brilliantly portable (the Vita's insanely energy efficient rest mode still impresses me: you can leave the thing in rest mode for weeks and it'll still have a good charge on it).
I'll keep that game in mind. Try it out next month. Actually, maybe I wrote off Neon Chrome too quickly as well. Looks like it might actually be decent.
Still, the PS4 selections are a total bummer.
@themcnoisy Nothing about the story pr the game-play of LiS appeals at all to me. If it was a film, a TV series etc, I wouldn't watch it. If it was a AAA game, all episodes combined, I wouldn't buy it either.
The Witness is another game that has no appeal to me either. I have no interest in wandering around an island, solving puzzle after puzzle.
Its NOT because these are 'indie' games - just so happens they are but what they offer from a game-play perspective and/or story. I don't dismiss these 'just' because they are indie at all and actually did my research to see what they offer, watched game-play to see if it was 'something' I would play etc. I also dismiss AAA games in exactly the same way too.
When I look at the games I have, what's in my backlog, it comes down to would I play these instead of what I already have, what I intend to buy and the answer invariably comes down to no. As you know, I do enjoy FPS games so Killing Floor 2 may be more appealing than LiS but then I have a number of games (old and new, scifi, miltary etc) that offer FPS gaming with more variety, more depth, more finesse, etc. If I am sitting down to play a FPS game, why would I pick KF2 instead of the multitude of alternatives I have - just because its free???
Before anyone says its purely 'visual', a number of indie games (Rapture, Edith Finch) look incredible and better than many AAA games I have but the game play just doesn't appeal
@THRILLHOU Yeah i get you, i'm 32 and not interested in tween drama
Damn, all these people saying they are too old to play certain teeny games is making me feel bad.I'm 44 this year and I thought Life Is Strange was amazing (and for the record I also watched 13 Reasons Why which I also loved ..in a morbid way).
This list is pretty good as far as I'm concerned.
@THRILLHOU Max isn't the star of the show though, like Persona 4 the setting, none player characters, the intertwined stories and mystery all play a part. The fact it's a school doesn't really matter either, but it's a perfect setting as we have all been to school (against our will lol) . Max has more personality than the avatar in P4G, but not by much. I rate it and I'm a 36 year old grump. Play it.
Looking forward to to life is strange. Glad I didn't cave and buy this. Killing floor looks like nothing I'm interested in. And please stop with the twin stick shooters. One is ok, but I feel like it's every month now
Good month, just Killing Floor for me but I wouldn't of bought it anyways so worth me getting a month of PS Plus atleast as it appeals to me, not sure Life is strange does though 😂
@themcnoisy that's the thing. In my school the kids would have a disagreement, a short punch up, and walk away friends. We didn't have to resort to time travel to solve our problems. It was a simpler time.
Seriously though, I've seen videos etc and pretty much everything about the game I find to be annoying, so no. I'm not playing it.
Wow. I'm very happy with Killing Floor 2; makes a nice change to get a really good game. Not so bothered about the other one, but I'm sure it will be great for those who like those sort of games.
I bought Life is Strange some time ago, but never found the time to play it.
It seems like an absolute gem, but the voice acting of Max is so bad, it actually ruins any immersion.
Is there Japanese voice over as an option? That's the only thing that could save it for me. Going from Beyond: Two Souls and Ellen Page's superb acting to Max's (don't know who the voice actress is) in Life is Strange was shocking to say the least.
@THRILLHOU What does being a 36 year old man have to do with anything?
@naruball it means that the cultural references in the game are largely lost on me, and that my upbringing entailed a lot of cheesy 80s and 90s action movies, gung go video games like Contra and MGS 1, and that I find teens today to be completely different to when I was that age.
This is a game centred around two young women who are very much a product of their surroundings, surroundings which I find alien.
That's not a bad thing, but it's difficult for me to relate to. Added to this is the fact that between life and work I have precious little time for gaming nowadays, so would prefer something which I know I will definitely like to a title which I have little to no interest in.
@THRILLHOU A lot of people in their 30s have played this game and loved it. There aren't that many cultural references from what I've seen. If the game is not your cup of tea, then it's not your cup of tea. But your age has nothing to do with it. Keep in mind that the writers and developers are most likely over 30 and the game is not necessarily targeted at teenagers.
@naruball I'll keep in mind exactly bugger all, thanks. I have an opinion. One which you do not share. If this upsets you then I'm honestly nonplussed.
@THRILLHOU Got love the internet. Sorry I bothered. At least now I know to put you on ignore. Bye, Felicia!
Dam i feel so young now im only 18
I'm happy with that i'll give em a twirl, I don't have high hope's for LiS but i'll give it a bash as I do want to like these game's so i'll keep trying em! You can put people on ignore? Didn't know that...I bet nobody can even see my message's I've been talking to myself this entire time.
My first month with PS+; Life is Strange looks interesting. =)
Great month!...kf2 was fun playing with friends in th demo/beta, definitely going to try LiS given how highly recommend it comes...(45yo with a 4 month old baby, an 8yo and a pet teenager(14yo)...i game everyday)
@xMEADx there's only 5 comments in this section right lol?
@THRILLHOU Fair enough. My reactions are terrible due to age so I've gravitated towards more chilled games with occasional bouts of action, I can't play fps online as I get whooped so I'm in a different position I suppose.
The game kicks off with a shooting in a toilet, obviously something which is unlikely to have happened in your school, so the stakes are high from the off. The time travel stuff is dealt with really well, it's not back to the future or bill and Ted, it's spin on time travel is unique. But yes don't play it if your not a fan of slow moving story games as at times it's really slow.
@naruball A Friday reference? Maybe I'm not as out of touch as I thought. classy.
@mcnoisy I went to school near Toxteth mate. It's not that far removed! Seriously though, I tend to play games I can throw on for a couple of hours or so, and require reflexes. This isn't it. Again, if you're up for a story then good times, enjoy, but not for me.
Played the KF2 beta, seemed like quite a decent co-op zombie masher.Good gore..i didn't really like the the slow-mo feature thingy though..i wonder if its turn-offable now? Life is strange, like i don't get why people are into Life Is Strange (geddit?) Nostalgia or something? i am surprised to see KF2 on psplus anyhow, first thing on there i have been mildy interested in since i can remember.
Hasn't Neon Chrome already been a Plus title? Pretty sure I've played it before and know I didn't buy it?
I'm guessing Knack will be given away during the E3 presentation now.
@naruball There's no reason to harass others just because they have a different opinion on something you like.
@THRILLHOU You are wasting your time, if he put you on his ignore list like he said. Clearly he can't take it when someone doesn't like something he does.
@Tasuki Fair play. Honestly I didn't know there was an ignore list!
@Tasuki Read the post again. I have no problem with someone having a different opinion. I have with rude replies.
The only thing you are correct about is not seeing what he replied, since he's on my ignore list.
@themcnoisy Hah I see less dammit.
@naruball
Well, I'm in my 30's and I loved the game, despite the dialogue grating at times, still is perhaps my favourite PS4 experience game so far, the soundtrack was awesome.
I don't think age is a strictly consideration to whether teen drama appeals or not, more so everyone has so much free time and is more likely to take a punt on somethinig in their radar, but probably by your 30's you have less free time to burn and more of a clear idea of what you like and what you don't; I know people that categorically will not play a third person game, ever, missing out on some of the best PS games of all time because they simply cannot abide that perspective. I find it hilarious, but ultimately, to each their own, what they play has no bearing on me.
Ultimately PushSq tends to review in line with my personal feelings, which is why I hang around here. I loved Edith Finch and paid full price as i trust the reviews and like interactive fiction, So glad i did. It's only a shame I already bought and loved LiS otherwise i'd be over the moon this month
Well, tried Life Is Strange many months ago...too old for it and didn't really care for it. Killing Floor 2 didn't look too great to me, just more of the same. Last month I ended up already owning both games, so the Plus freebies weren't that great to me now for 2 months...however, enjoying the discounts on games and the new Plus Sale is pretty good to be able to nab both Need For Speed titles for a decent price, the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy for a decent price and some other goodies! The sale for this week makes up for it for me! Other than that, I'll just wait to see what's in store for July, even though it's summer and I'd rather be outside doing something else or playing with the kids!
@RPE83 Age doesn't matter, it wasn't that bad of a game and I'm 37. To me, it's like someone being older watching Friday The 13th or some other horror flicks or even the college comedies...again, not the age group that we're in, but enjoyable!!! That's kind of the way I see it!
@JLPick
Maybe I just love Life Is Strange because deep down I wished i went to prestigious art school in the pacific northwest? haha!
@RPE83 Very well said.
Tbh, I get it. I don't play first person games because they're not my cup of tea. I just don't enjoy them. Same with sports games and racing games (because I suck at them). So I'm sure I'm not missing out. I'm 30 and I haven't seen any changes in my gaming habits, other than the less free time that you mentioned.
But I agree, to each their own (as long as they are not rude or dismissive, that is; saying "not my cup of tea" is fine, saying "your opinion means jack s*** to me" is not).
@JoeBlogs I am, if nothing else, consistent LOL
Its no different to how I used to be during the last gen era except then it was the other way round and saying the IGC offerings were better. Lets be honest, back then a lot of PS fanboys (not every PS gamer) would often mock the Xbox GwG line-up - criticising the 'old' AAA games and 'Arcade' titles compared to the 'newer' AAA titles they were getting.
Until IGC offers me a collection of games that I actually think are better, more games that actually appeal more than than those on IGC, then I will be honest about which month I am looking forward to the most. Maybe in July, GwG may have 4 games that don't appeal and/or I already have where as Sony could have 1-2 (as I don't really play on my PS3 at all anymore) that appeal and therefore - maybe - I may actually have something different to say about IGC but historically, that has not happened often (if at all) since I acquired my PS4!
@naruball I don't see any rudeness in any replied but yours. The other user said it wasn't his thing because of his age, you then gave your point which was fine. Still then the other user agreed. Not everyone is going to agree with you and yes your opinion is not going to mean jack **** as you put it to other people that's how the world works. After all the other users opinion didn't mean jack **** to you.
@Tasuki Honestly, dude. Believe whatever you want.
I simply explained why I think being a 36 year old male is not a strong argument and got this as a response
"I'll keep in mind exactly bugger all, thanks. I have an opinion. One which you do not share. If this upsets you then I'm honestly nonplussed."
I had no problem with anyone not liking the game. I did with someone saying that instead of replying with arguments.
If you don't find this rude, then fine. I did. Hence why I blocked him. Nothing more, nothing less.
I'm done here.
@JoeBlogs So just because you played them already, doesn't make them worse. I am sure there are people that may have at least one (if not both) of these games too.
I doubt may would be too upset if they were given a bundle of Watchdogs, AC3, Dragon Age: Origins and Speedrunners in general as well as some DLC for Phantom Dust.
If IGC were to offer Killzone, Infamous 2nd Son and/or maybe some Ubisoft games like Farcry 3 or Primal, AC4, Unity or Syndicate and etc and MS had games like Life is Strange, Killing Floor 2, even if I have all/many of these, I would still recognise that the IGC games on offer are much better overall. Its got nothing to do with which side is greener but acknowledging which games I would rather play, which ones excite me more.
Even if a game like Killzone was offered, despite owning it, I would be happier as it also means that more people will be online, more mileage from my copy, more chance friends will have it to play online with etc so it can still be of benefit to me.
@RPE83 Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, it is good and very entertaining...guess it just comes with age and each generation of people trying to learn the 'newest' generation items...even though most of the generations end up coming back...like the 80's seemed to come back with kids styles. Eh, even the games seemed to come back to the 80's, including film and TV. Just a thing, but get ready for when you start seeing things you grew up with now being called RETRO...that's when you feel old. I'm 37 and I hate seeing everything I grew up with being called RETRO!!!!
"Try it, you'll like it!"
"No I won't. And you can't make me."
"It's free anyway, so why don't you try it."
"No, I don't want to. I can tell that I'll hate it."
"Fine, you're an idiot."
"No, you're the idiot."
Then everyone else pick a side...
@JoeBlogs Of course its subjective and whilst maybe we have been gaming 'years' and have the cash to buy games often enough even at 'discounted' prices later on, not everyone is in the same boat.
Maybe their XB1 is their 'first console or maybe don't have much money to buy their own games for whatever reason. I know I missed a number of 'biggish' AAA games during the XB360 life because of kids (they always seem to need something), unforeseen expenditures like needing to replace a Washing Machine, something going wrong with the car etc. I often had to decide between buying x, y or z game and often thought 'maybe' I will pick up the others at a later date and then 'new' games come along.
Point is, there could be many factors why games like Watchdogs, AC3 and Dragon Age: Origins may not have been bought but could still be of greater interest. I had an interest in all of these GWG offerings but just never got around to buying any so this is a great month. In 2012, When AC was released for example, I was going through a separation, trying to find a new house to move into, trying to save money to get things I would need to furnish my house and a lot of games I wanted, I couldn't buy as a result. A year later, next gen consoles arrived and a lot of games I missed on XB360 I wanted dropped down my priority list so now I get them 'FREE'. Watchdogs was a game I was moderately interested in but never bought because there were other games higher on my priority list at the time - now I get that FREE. There are always new games on the Horizon, new hardware too so maybe the choice is 'do I buy the 'new' games or do I buy a couple of the old games I missed that are now 'cheap'. Generally the 'new' games appeal more than the 'old' games - if the Old games appealed that much, then I would have bought them closer to launch. In 3.5yrs since this gen launched - I have bought around 40games across both XB1 and PS4 as well as both a Pro and XB1s and saving towards the Scorpio and new games out this holiday. I welcome the chance to play some of the big games I may have missed rather than some new game I would never buy.
For those whose first console maybe an XB1 or don't have a lot of free cash to spend on gaming, can't buy every new game, or even all the games they want - even discounted - GwG offers a lot of potential hours worth - not a weekend.
I am not being Shallow at all. Its not the fact that these are AAA games but the fact that I would much rather play any of these than any of the IGC offerings. As explained, I have many FPS games and Killing Floor 2 can't 'better' them so what reason would I opt to play that? I own Killzone but would still be happier if that was offered because it would give more value to my game - the online would be populated by more people and more likely to make me want to play my game again. Maybe some may also get 'value' by trading in their 'disc' version - maybe only a few pounds but that's still better than nothing. Not that I trade in, but I would still probably download Killzone and keep the Disc as a back-up - its what I do with Xbox too...
@JoeBlogs It was a game that impressed me in 2012 (I think) at E3 and made me excited for next gen but by the time it came out, I had lost a lot of my interest. I wasn't (and still am) not keen on the aspect that 'friends' can jump into your game and 'interrupt' you - I know it can be turned off (I believe). The overall story, MP and concept wasn't exciting enough to spend £40 on. Infamous and Titanfall had arrived a few months prior and Wolfenstein too. Then E3 came along and the excitement of the 'new' games coming, Last of Us Remastered and of course Destiny (and its Beta) which started the Holiday season releases so Watchdogs just kept slipping down my priority list and why I never ended up buying. Games like that, in my case rarely end up being bought. If it was a slow burner, one of those that you weren't sure of but friends keep talking positively about, maybe it would have remained on my priority list and been picked up eventually but as more time goes by, sequels come out, it just drops further down so I welcome having the chance to play it - if its not great - so what? I haven't lost out and can't regret buying it instead of something else that far down my list...
For me, what defines a good 'month' is games I wanted but never got round to buying. Games that I would play or at least would compete with the games I have (inc backlog) for my time. Not games I am only downloading/playing 'just because' they are free. IGC games from my perspective are often not games that I would play or even considered buying. Even if I downloaded, wouldn't compete for my time. Its not 'just because' they are indie either!
@JoeBlogs I missed out on Metro first time around but picked it up the remastered collection still would happily accept it again if offered free. DMC is not a franchise I am interested in - don't really like that style of combat but would probably download the reboot if they offered it free - not a game I would actively look to buy. Sniper Elite is another that has 'moderate' appeal and would download but wouldn't necessarily buy that either. Alien Isolation is a great game - bought that myself near launch. I wouldn't be disappointed if Sony added it to PS4 - give me a reason to play it again as I have it for Xbox.
By the time AC3 came out, I was still a bit disappointed by the two AC2 follow ups - Brotherhood for adding MP and Revelations for the poor 'tower defence'. I was a bit fed up with the series too.I liked the first, loved the second and then Brotherhood and Revelations hadn't really excited me. The setting seemed odd of AC3 and not having a big interest in American History - not that era anyway all contributed to my decision to buy other games. Like I said I was in a 'difficult' position at that time too - not just financially so this was not a priority.
IGC and GwG though are not 'just' for gamers that can buy whatever game they want, when they want or for gamers that have owned the last few consoles and been gaming for at least the past 10yrs.
Some may only have bought a PS4/XB1 in the past few months and trying to build up a collection so offering some 'older' AAA games benefits those. If they have MP, it can also benefit those of us that bought it back then - not just because there are more people online but at the very least (if you haven't already) you can trade your copy in. Although my Son has been gaming for years now, he was too young to appreciate games like AC3 or DA:O so may enjoy them now and at 15, not exactly loaded with cash to buy all the games that come out so this gives him a lot of games every month, a lot of new experiences in genres he may not have explored before and games that have the potential to keep him happy all month - not just a weekend.
I am not saying that every month should have 'old' AAA games for these. I don't see why though, Sony can't offer a few a quarter. MS don't offer AAA games across both platforms every month but offer a mix - an older AAA game a new-ish Indie and a couple of classics on BC. I quite like the 'staggered' approach too - give us a new game (or two) every half month rather than have them all at once and have to wait a month for the next lot.
@Wazeddie22 Your avatar is awesome! Lunar FTW! ^_^
@Reanfan7 Thanks!I played Lunar The Silver Star on the Sega CD when it first came out,my first `true` rpg.Fell in love with the characters and story and its the game that got me into the world of rpgs
