The Premier League comes to a conclusion this weekend, but the season’s far from over, with a series of big finals to follow over the coming week or so. It does mean that our weekends are about to become even free-er, though, with no footie on the telly to distract us from clearing our backlogs. No excuses anymore.

Having seen off Superman in Injustice: Gods Among Us last night, I’ll be unlocking loot in Injustice 2 this weekend. I really can’t wait to get started on the brawler, as while I may loath the number of superhero movies at cinemas, I do enjoy a good NeatherRealm dust-up.

I'm going back to Mass Effect: Andromeda this weekend. And no, before Sammy starts shaking his head so hard that it spirals into orbit, I'm not going to be starting a third playthrough. Instead, I'll be returning to the multiplayer since I hear BioWare has buffed just about every power and weapon in the game. Yeah, I shouldn't have to shoot a grunt in the skull 15 times for them to die, thanks.

For a second weekend in a row I’ll be on planes and in hotels so I’ll be playing Mario Kart 8 and Zelda: Breath of the Wild on my Nintendo Switch. And if I were home? Well, it would have been Persona 5, of course.
Jade Sayers, Reviewer
This weekend I'll be starting Dark Rose Valkyrie, which I'm also reviewing. I'm looking forward to getting started, as I love JRPGs, and I've heard this has a visual novel detective mode similar to Danganronpa – one of my favourite series!
Ken Talbot, Review
I'll be playing Injustice 2 story mode, re-enacting my hopes for Batman vs. Superman by punching the big blue boy scout in the sternum – again and again and again.

I had planned on reacquainting myself with Horizon: Zero Dawn this weekend after being distracted by numerous other titles. However, that was before I received an email last night containing a review code for none other than the elusive RiME. You can expect a review next week.

I will be continuing with Darksiders: Warmastered Edition and Borderlands 2 this weekend, as well as checking out the Shinobi and Centurion in For Honor.
What are you playing this weekend, then? Are you starting something new, or revisiting an old favourite? Let us know in the comments section below.

I'm being roped into destiny by my good mate Scott so Adebisi is probably going to get roped in an all. If anyone fancies joining us then 1) you're welcome to and 2) Why!?!?!?
Injustice 2. It's pretty great. The loot system is highly addictive.
Probably find me on Black Ops 3: Zombies this weekend...
Early Father's day gift of Farpoint so putting Resident Evil aside to try the aim controller and PSVR. Other than that, same as every week - trotting round Hyrule helping folk and solving shrines in Zelda Botw.
I will be playing some Injustice 2 paired with finishing off the last 2 hunting grounds in Horizon (creeping towards platinum).
Unfortunately my week off work comes to an end today and I still feel like I haven't put a dent in any of my games despite having a lot more time to spend with them.
But I'll be playing more of the excellent Persona 5,Dragon Quest Heroes 2,Dishonoured 2 and Lego TFA which I started a few days ago
Oh and I downloaded that Oceanhorn demo which I enjoyed much more than I thought I would...nearly bought the game but restrained myself..
Assassin's Creed: Unity mostly. A bit of Killzone: Mercenary on the Vita.
Jacob Hull sounds like my sort of homie.
I've been playing Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir on my Vita, although at the moment I'm taking a bit of a break from video games. Need to get back to Persona 5 soon.
That pic looks like the actress who plays Supergirl. Bit of Uncanny Valley there.
Going to play some PUBG, maybe some Horizon, try to beat Axiom Verge finally.
@RedMageLanakyn That is actually Black Canary though not Supergirl.
A bit of a break from Persona 5 to play Farpoint, I'm having so much fun with the aim controller and I'm really looking forward to what they do next with it
Strangely since testing out the boost mode on the ps4 I've found advanced warefare much more agreeable. It now has no slow downs in multi player and that seems to be a massive advantage, add in I have 200mb wired connection, my controller wired and the highest rated TV for input lag this year and an average player like me seems to come top every teamdeath match and I don't often get under 30 kills. So basically having a blast on an unlevel playing field. Who says money can't buy happiness I really didn't expect such a difference.
PS4: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, PES2017
PSVita: GTA Liberty City Stories
GBC: Pokemon Blue
Playing Liberty City Stories on my Vita & completely falling for Liberty City all over again has hit me with the nostalgia bug. Bought a Game Boy Colour with Pokemon Blue & feel like I'm a kid again .
Also playing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix on Proud mode. Those first 3 worlds before cure are brutal.
Kingdom Hearts 2. 5 hours in, enjoying it more than 1 so far. Didn't bother with Chain of Memories - might go back to that.
I will be playing the incredibly fun Portal Knights, which I was up until 5 this morning playing. Talk about addictive. I also made the mistake of caving in and buying Prey early in the week. It was fun to begin with (exploring anyway, everything else is sooo dull) but now I just want to get it over with.
I might play Marvel Heroes Omega, now that the closed beta has officially ended and there are no more planned progression wipes. However with PK and wanting to finish Prey ASAP, that may have to wait a few days.
@vegeta11 I know, she just bears a striking resemblance to Melissa Benoist.
I recently picked up Mafia 3, Fallout 4 and MGS V for a combined price of £20. So I am probably going to play....Pro Evo lol.
@kyleforrester87 I really enjoyed Chain of Memories. The battle system is very satisfying once you get into it.
I started the Knife of Dunwall DLC for Dishonored earlier. I think it's rather good. Handy that time stops when you use blink!
Also continuing with Persona 5. I'm well into December so not much left. It's been awesome but I wish the villains weren't so obvious.
For my birthday this past Tuesday, I wound up getting God of War Saga (new, so it has all 5 games), Batman Arkham Origins, Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus, and Bioshock. This in addition to the still unfinished load of FF7, Heavenly Sword, Mortal Kombat, Mass Effect 1 and Wipeout HD.
So this is what having a backlog feels like.
@mookysam Yeah I think I will go back to it but I want to get the main instalments done then take a wee break I reckon!
Pro Evolution soccer 2017 just cannot stop playing it.
This will be the 1st year since P.E.S.4 I will not be buying a day 1 pes unless it is a 10.
Besides if I wait I can get a Digital copy for peanuts.
The whistle blew and I cried out i didn't foul him turns out i was right ref said he dived ,injuries goalies spot on this year.
Zombies Chronicles Treyarch done a really good job with them.
@banacheck Certainly enjoyable to replay these maps - Just wish some of the best maps were included...
I'm playing the best Kart game around!
Coffin Dodgers.
I will mostly be on the 3DS. Playing Animal Crossing New Leaf, Monster Hunter 4/Generations Mario Golf, and the New Fire Emblem Echoes. Maybe Disney Afternoon Collection and some fighting games on PS4.
I played some Paladins, mainly because my nephew loves that game. It's ok.
I'm hoping to get some Horizon in as well.
Still Persona 5.
About half way through I think.
After finishing the very good Assassin's Creed Syndicate (Evie is super), I've started playing Black Flag from the very beginning again. I know two AC games back to back can lead to Ubisoft syndrome but these are two of the better games in the series. I'm also playing Resi Evil Revelations on the 3DS which I think is pretty decent.
Well for me its been mario kart/puyo puyo tetris (in bed). Ive been having fun with injustice 2 and the surge (ps4) mainly injustice the surge is difficult 😉. Sprinkled with a little xcom 2 and yooka on the side, plus a few matches of BF1... pheww....
Been trying the Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 demo. Holy cow the art style and presentation make it like an anime that's fully interactive.
Gonna be trying to get in some Dragon Quest Heroes 2. I could - and should - also play some NieR and Tales of Berseria, but I'm just plain enjoying DQH2 more. Probably because I don't care for the music much (no offense to Koichi Sugiyama; its great if you're in a retro/nostalgic mood), so I can play this while listening to podcasts and junk. Seems like something I can burn through pretty quickly too, which is good, so I can pick Horizon, Toukiden 2, or Yakuza back up. Mostly though, I won't be gaming - I'll be finishing up work I gotta do
Looking forward to what you have to say about Dark Rose Valkyrie, Jade! I think it sounds & looks kind of interesting. I definitely like that Compile Heart nabbed some Tales talent to help make it, and as you said, the investigation-to-find-who's-a-traitor part sounds like a good idea. It certainly elevated Lost Dimension up quite a few notches. But, well, it is mostly a Compile Heart RPG still so there's always the chance it'll just be mediocre . Who knows though? I'm crossing my fingers!
Personally, with my backlog as well as titles like God Wars, Summon Night and Valkyria Revolution coming up next month, DRV is something I won't be able to get to until later in the year at the earliest anyway. But I'm defintely interested in seeing how it does. Hope you enjoy it.
Good gaming, everyone!
Taking a break from open world and decided I need to get a platinum so start The Walking Dead, figure that's one of the easiest I own. Now just need to get this damn train going
Got my first plat trophy now back to HZD
Got the platinum on Diva X last Monday so I ordered Diva F in order to get the third and final Miku platinum.
I just finished a multiplayer match on Uncharted 2, as crazy as that sounds. Needed that to go towards that platinum too, as there are two online trophies.
@mookysam
For the life of me, I am starting Chain of Memories and not enjoying it one bit. Whenever I play a card it seems the AI has always a higher card, (which can even cancel a summon while it is being done) and whenever I heal myself I have to reshuffle the deck to heal again, which takes ages while all the enemies around you try to hit you, as there are no partners to distract them. I will probably skip it, read or watch the story bits and continue with 358/2
85 hours in and still three palaces to go on persona 5. I am loving every second, but I am looking forward to trying something else in a completely different genre soon too so will probably pick up tekken in a couple of weeks
I'm playing injustice 2 story mode and some multiverse so I can get through the last two levels and hit 20 with my main darkseid. Shadow warrior 2 is so much better than 1 from what ive played after downloading yesterday so I'll also be playing some of that as well as some sessions of the surge so a pretty packed weekend
@DerMeister
Oh happy belated birthday by the way!
Back into Horizon after a forced upon month long break. Just got up to the Carja stronghold the divides the East and West of the map, forgot how gorgeous this game is...and how tough the machines are!! Died a few more times than I'd like to admit. So I'll be ploughing along in that in between work this week end
Started on last chapter of Dishonored. I love this game. Good thing there is a Dishonored 2. Also played God of War 3 remastered. Still looks good and plays good . Tried out Limbo and Inside demos. This are my next games to purchase .
I finished Persona 5 a few days ago and have forgotten how else to use my spare time. I spent 130 hours on it! Without anything to play at the moment I feel lost at night during my usual gaming time...that sounds kind of sad 😂. Not sure which game on my want list to try next. After spending so much time on one game I'm not really wanting to get sucked into another long experience right away.
14 hours into Horizon Zero Dawn .... What an amazing game.
Trying to platinum nier automata, searching for all the weapon for my last ending (Y). There are some missable trophy in this game, I think I miss 1 (upgrade all pod to lvl 3). Either I buy the trophy in-game or restart the game.
Since I just finished with working on putting up some shelves that took way too long, maybe I'll play a little bit of Dishonored 2 tomorrow.
I've decided to finish at least some of my current library before I buy any new games (even though I REALLY want Injustice 2) So I will be playing Dark souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin on my PS4 and maybe some Breath of the Wild on my Wii U.
Finishing up infamous second son. Doing that paper thing quest where u have to log on to that web site. Kinda cool I guess, just made it a little to complicated. Great game though!
Finished up Ghostbusters the Videogame.
@sinalefa Are you using the combos/sleights with triangle? The total will usually exceed the enemy's card and hit them.
NEW FIRE EMBLEM BOI!
I beat Zelda, so now I need to focus on my PS4 backlog, and there's a lot I need to catch up on... Nier, Dishonored 2, Prey, Horizon, Persona 5,Titanfall 2..... ugh... 😑
Just have the the last Boss to fight in Persona 5, but going to delve into Injustice 2.
On my PS4- The Order 1886:The game was dirt cheap on Amazon for only $4, for a digital code.
On my Switch- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Such a fun and amazing game, per usual with all Mario Kart games.
On PS4, it will be Tales from the Borderlands. Going to start Dragon Age Inquisition which I bought on disc during sale last week. It got mixed reaction/review from the players/critics. Hopefully DAI is decent & interesting enough for me to enjoy. Will not compared to Witcher 3 yet since I'm not started Witcher 3 although I got it couple of month ago.
Yakuza 0 Trying to max out Cabaret club mode and the real estate business!
@BAMozzy Yes i would liked to of seen Mob of The Dead & Call of The Dead, but i love all of the maps but wasn't too keen on transit.
Stein gate 0 and mario kart 8. I am the world worst at online mario kart. Less then 800 ranking points.
@mookysam
I tried again and beat the part I was struggling with. Thanks for the advice!
Too much work to really play this week. But I did find the time to launch Muramasa on Vita and it looks incredible.
And I plan to use my PSVR a lot next week. Farpoint incoming, friends !!
Zelda, Yooka-Laylee, and various PSVR titles.
Played Injustice 2 all weekend (when I wasn't at work). Great game, I definitely underrated it a little bit. Unlike Mortal Kombat X, which was a good game but a step down from its predecessor, I think Injustice 2 is a big step up from the first game and that one was my favorite fighting game of last gen so I'm happy NetherRealm delivered. Story mode was cool and there's tons of single player content. Hopefully Capcom is taking notes.
Horizon zero dawn, love to grind for parts and to level up
@Sanquine
Game of the Year if it wasn't for Zelda and Yakuza Zero.
@Gamer83 can not wait for legend of zelda
