Playtonic will improve middling platformer Yooka-Laylee with an upcoming patch, lessening camera quibbles and dialling down the dumb gibberish voices in the game. In response to feedback, the UK-based developer plans to include an option that will allow you to put a sock in the mouth of its colourful cast of characters; you'll also be able to skip dialogue much quicker. Thank God!
Perhaps more importantly, there'll also be tweaks to the release's excitable camera, framing the action more firmly. Full patch notes will follow in the coming weeks.

That's cool. Fully intend to get this soon, keep the updates coming in the mean time!
Didn't they already do that when they removed JonTron's cameo? XD
@irken004
The camera wasn't that bad, but I did have to fight with it every once in a while. I think I only got frustrated with it once or twice.
I liked some of their voices, especially Rextro.
Mainly Rextro. Probably because he sounds like Grunty and makes that little grr sound that was present all over the Banjo games.
I want to be American as well. Lovely English. The voices are part of the charm, can't see many of the target audience using it.
The camera is easily one of Yooka-Laylee's biggest problems, so it's good to see them addressing it soon. I'm not sure it'll be enough to draw me back in, but still, nice to see Playtonic are listening to feedback
I can't say I've had any problems with any of these whilst playing, then again I probably spent an unhealthy amount of time playing the games this is based upon when I was much younger so I'm probably immune 😃. Good to see them still working on the game though
@carlos82 How would you rate the game in general?
I don't hate the voices (although I haven't got too far in the game yet), although being able to skip dialogue quicker is a good addition.
@roe yes skipping dialogue is awesome.
@kyleforrester87 I've only played about 5 or 6 hours so far but it feels from the moment you boot it up exactly like Banjo Kazooie, I suppose it's basically Banjo 3 in all but name. The levels don't seem quite as focused or structured as well as those games, overall then I'd say it was a good 7 or 8 so far
@carlos82 Its hard for me to get my head round since it's been so long since I played Banjo and it probably controls way way worse than my memory thinks!
@kyleforrester87 yeah I see what you mean, whilst it does feel like those games I think the controls do feel more up to date, just the game itself hasn't really changed since then. It's definitely not as good as Ratchet and Clank and I think if I were to play them both in the same day then Yooka Laylee would probably show its age even more.
As you said it's a difficult one and it'll likely be down to when you play it and whether your mind just accepts it because you've played and enjoyed these before or if you just see it for what it is today. I like a bit of retro gaming so I firmly fall into the former
The game isn't for you then, cuz all of us long time rare fans love everything about it. The backstory is especially hilarious to me as it refers to Microsoft taking over Rares magic pagies and having to fight bill gates. Pure gold.
Glad to see they're still working on improving this. I'm enjoying the PC version so far. Hopefully they update it to support the PS Pro's improved tech and bump up the framerate.
