Ever since it was announced that Japanese arcade game Dissidia Final Fantasy was running on PlayStation 4 hardware, we’ve been waiting not-so patiently for a port. And that’s finally leaked via Amazon today: Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is scheduled to release on Sony’s new-gen system in early 2018.
The conversion’s being handled by Koei Tecmo’s flagship studio Team Ninja, and will include over "20 playable Final Fantasy heroes and villains to play". One of those characters will be Final Fantasy XV returnee Noctis, as battles occur over ten "iconic" arenas. There’ll also be a full story, penned by Final Fantasy VII Remake scribe Kazushige Nojima.
Square Enix is actually hosting a livestream in Japan as we type, where this title will almost certainly be officially unveiled. We’ll bring you more news as and when it breaks.

@FullbringIchigo It is true. It's real. It's happening.
20 characters and 10 stages? We can do better than that, surely?
@ShogunRok Gotta save something for the DLC, expansion pass, and store exclusive pre-order bonuses now don't they?
@ShogunRok I agree Dissidia 02 had much more characters and stagews and that was on PSP! They need around 40 Chars and about 25 stages for a substantial package!
@ShogunRok was thinking the same! Ill probably still get it though....god dammit
@stocko To be fair, it was a sequel, though.
@ShogunRok The description says "Over 20 playable Final Fantasy heroes and villains to play", so could be more. Also, there is going to be DLC characters for sure.
Finally! Playing Dissidia on console is going to be amazing!
Mmm this could have been a cool e3 tidbit ? Glad it is happening, finally.
