Oh, this little nugget of information slipped us by. Talking to Geoff Keighley on his E3 livestream - which we've embedded above - Bungie has revealed that Destiny 2's release date has actually been moved forward a couple of days. The sequel will now launch on the 6th September instead of the 8th. Apparently this will allow for a worldwide midnight launch.
Okay, so it's only a mere 48 hours sooner, but it's nice to see a game get pushed forward instead of back, isn't it? Alter your time off work in the comments section below.

Ah Friday release would have been preferable for me. Always a bit of a bummer when a game I'm looking forward to launches mid-week.
What's that you say? Just don't play it until the Friday? Ha!
I'm less and less excited about D2, honestly... Still haven't bought rise of iron, trying to decide if I should while it is on sale...
Means I have to take more Days off, already got a week off in September planned xd
Surely if the release is going to be two days sooner to where we are now in time, then it's been pulled back from a future date; pulled back to a time closer to our current timeframe.
Grammatically, 'pushed forward' would be even further in the future from our timeframe/point of view.
Then after the event, when we speak of it in the past tense, we'd say pushed back further to a point in time from the future subjective POV.
Now, where was that spoon?
@nathanSF "pushed back" to imply its being released sooner certainly doesn't work though does it? Lol
Either way too much emphasis on pushing things on this site :')
@nathanSF Good points, but what if we'd written "pulled forward" instead of "pushed"? That would suggest it's getting closer. But if we're thinking of time as a line that goes from right to left, "pushed" could work depending on which side you're pushing the date from. Push from the right and you're pushing closer towards the present.
Push Square taking comments sections to new depths here.
the destiny 2 trailer on the sony conference said 6th september, along with exclusive strike, mp map, exotic weapon, gear.. for PS4.
@Mega-Gazz no, don't buy RoI unless you want to play the old Raids again
@ShogunRok @kyleforrester87 @nathanSF 'brought forward' and they've rolled back the price too!! Let's play Push Me Pull You instead.
@kyleforrester87 Pushed back can only be applied after the event as we'd then be on the other side of the event that had been 'pulled back' - After all, you can only push back against something pushing at you. In all other cases pushing back would send something further away from you.
Only those in the future can refer to an event being pulled forward - which itself would require am adjustment in the time continuum.
So, come to think of it, what would actually be happening for an event in the past to appear to be 'pulled forward' would be for the observer to be rushing back in time to meet it. So more accurately the observer would be going back to the future of the oncoming event. Tadaaa. I knew I'd be able to wedge it in eventually.
@ShogunRok No no, It would have to be referred to as 'Pulled back' - denoting an action that brings something closer to where we are now
@ShogunRok
