Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a game primarily about mental health, and this trailer shows how it aims to depict the struggles of its lead character. In it, we see the heroine plagued by voices, and about to do battle with the demon in her mind. It’s really well done, actually – enhanced, of course, by some good acting and amazing motion capture.
Despite its detractors, Ninja Theory’s always been an adventurous developer, and with this “AAA indie” it’s endeavouring to embark on path that few have taken before it. We’re really hopeful it can marry traditional character action with a storyline that will change players’ perception of real-world mental health issues.

This game looks so amazing and I can't wait to play it. I already preordered it and the dynamic theme you get is real nice
This is definitely a game to be played through headphones with the lights off.
There needs to be more games with themes covering stuff like Mental Health. It the main reason I want this game to do well personally.
@ApostateMage absolutely! Got it preordered and that's exactly what I'll do.
I always thought that visually Ninja Theory is one of the most mindblowing companies in the biz. I'll be getting this for sure.
It's an interesting premise, and I'm sure they'll handle it well, but I just hope the gameplay holds up.
Looks really good. Preordered. But even if it ends up disappointing the work they've done with real time cinematography and bridging the AAA and indie worlds is worth paying them for.
Looks better than ever. That short scene is so haunting and intense. It's very evocative of a real inner torment and suffering. The fear on her face is utterly convincing and exposes you to the dread of what's coming. Talk about convincing and powerful characterisation.
They did heavenly sword right?
@Themanhutch Ninja Theory developed/made Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and also the DmC: Devil May Cry reboot too.
@ToddlerNaruto thanks man now my hype is real can't wait I loved heavenly sword. Remember the arrow levels lol I thought they were ahead of there Time. Thanks for the info.
@Themanhutch You're welcome anytime. I'll probably be playing this in two years when there's a $15 flash sale.
Properly excited for this game.
