Mining sequel SteamWorld Dig 2 has been confirmed for the PlayStation 4, with a release planned later this year. The title was originally announced for the Nintendo Switch only, but developer Image & Form has since revealed that the outing will also deploy "a few days later" on Sony’s system. There’s the possibility of a Vita port down the line as well, with the Swedish studio noting that the handheld is “still important” to the team.
While there’s no firm date for the game confirmed just yet, it’s “pretty much finished” and the developer’s using the additional time to polish every aspect of the package ahead of a late summer or early fall launch. For those of you who aren’t sure what to expect from the follow-up, there’s a trailer embedded above.

Yes to a Vita version.
@LieutenantFatman Double yes to a Vita version.
Triple that yes
Original was great. Spelunky meets Metroid, in essence. Can't wait to play the sequel!
I enjoyed and finished the first game on my vita, day 1 if this game has cross-play/save for ps4 & vita.
Cool, loved the first one and Steamworld Heist...
I didn't really like SteamWorld Dig. I thought Heist was amazing, though.
Everyone wants a Vita version.
looks at Switch Aight. Outdone by something considered a failure neat.
Love the first one, but I wouldn't play this unless it's on the Vita.
@get2sammyb yeah same here I thought dig was alright but heist was absolutely amazing and the dlc was amazing especially for how cheap it was
