Electronic Arts has been the first publisher to raise the curtain on E3 2017 with its annual EA Play 2017 press conference, and during the show it provided deep dives into the likes of Star Wars Battlefront 2, FIFA 18, and a look at a new title from BioWare, named ANTHEM.
But were you impressed with the publisher’s fare? Was it a good press conference, and which games took your fancy? Share your knee-jerk reactions in the comments section below.

Lame
Absolutely not.
Pretty substandard tbh.
Another crapper from EA.
Even the Battlefront 2 part I was excited about was kinda boring. Bragging about single player campaign, but they don't show anything? 3 times the content and free updates? How much of that content will there be at launch?
It was ok. I liked the new prison game and they had an enthusiastic guy presenting it..but what happend to the need for speed presentation? That was pretty awefull
I need for speed payback didn't look too different from rivals. Too scripted for me on the clips we have seen so far.
Battlefront 2. On the surface it didn't look too different from the 1st one. Watching a load of people in MP wasn't the best way to show the game imho. Seeing something from the campaign mode would have been nice.
Far too much waffle. A shame, because the games they did show looked great (especially A Way Out), but the show was a massive snooze fest.
A Way Out looked dope, Battlefront 2 looked pretty great, and I was digging the new NFS. Still, the highlight for me was that nervous youtuber losing it when the teleprompter failed.
I was mostly bored. A Way Out looked really nice, but nothing else really captured my attention
EA aren't a developer who make many games that I'm even remotely interested, I was however looking forward to Star Wars until they only showed the mp and on Naboo just to make it worse. Hopefully we'll get some more footage over the next few days and a look at the campaign
No. But that one little game at the end did.
There were moments sure, but I can't even remember the last time EA had a genuinely good conference, if ever.
My predictions: Tomorow microsoft will reveal a strong consolle without any strong exclusives,on monday sony will blow us all away with great games and on tuesday we all wake up happy that we are gamers and own a ps4
Okay, who voted Very Good? Come on, admit it!
Didn't watch it.
Realised the other day that I haven't actually bought an EA game since Battlefield 4, when PS4 launched.
From the trailer, A Way Out looked interesting... if a little derivative.
Is it my impression or it was worst than the usual?
Oh my what great kickoff to E3.
It wasnt too bad. Its EA afterall. Only one misstep with the Youtuber. Battlefront 2 will be awesome and i want to marry the actress who plays Iden! 😍
It was pretty boring.
Poor , something beyond poor
Let's see, just 4 games + 1 teaser
Did they really need conference ? They did not even show any thing about BW'S NEW IP , just said: "you can see more on micro soft conference "so can't you just sit and show every thing there ?!!! I spend my time on nothing
Bored to death watching it, I only watched it on the slim chance that a new fight night got revealed
One of the worst gaming conferences I've ever seen. Barely anything actually new, just rehashed series. I miss the days of EA delivering new and interesting IPs.
@Gatatog You must not watch alot of Ubisoft press conferences....
Not especially, but then I'm not too keen on EA games. That prison break game and Need for Speed looked potentially good.
Borefest. Men in jackets?! that's worse than Pele. A Way Out was the only interesting thing there. Interested in Battlefront 2, looks cool as hell, but even that got boring when they decided to have an entire multiplayer game that went on forever. 3/10
EDIT: NFS as well actually, I liked the look of it.
@FreakerZ they may give us a secret surprise about which exclusive game coming out this year in Fall
i vote poor on EA Conference.. Need For Speed Payback, Fifa 18, NBA Live 18 are not interesting to me enough but Madden 18 is only one game is very interesting to me.. Star Wars Battlefront 2 look very cool and i might get it on day one if single player campigan is longer and great
Yeh pretty boring really, I loved the star wars battlefront 2 showing but that's me being biased I think thought we were going to see more star wars games?! Wheres the apparently open world game they were making?.....
Awful! Cringy! 1h20 - 20 minutes of games.
It was meh. The highlight for me was the Anthem annoucement. Other than that, nothing was exciting for me.
Their conference would have been better off shorter at 30 minutes or so and then stream the multiplayerpart of Star Wars after that.
I did like the element of danger and high stakes that comes with any EA game. Any game that doesn't perform means automatic shutdown of a development studio. High stakes.
Seriously though the highlight was Battlefront 2 but then the first one looked awesome, that was never the issue. It having about 13 minutes of content unless you bought DLC was what killed it.
I was so bored halfway thru I considered the possibility that either MS or Sony paid them to have a bad show so their's would look good later in the week.
And then some guy said - "We have a great new game IP coming out... and we'll tell you about it tomorrow during's MS conference." And then I knew it was MS who paid them to bore, not Sony.
It was really really bad, it was even hard to watch the whole thing.
1/10
That was so 1997...
Way too much talking, way too much uninteresting stuff...
why bother and do a show if there is nothing to show?
Here's a thing EA and other companies need to take heed of.
No one wants your stupid youtramp laden nonsensical lunacy. We don't want over excited kids and manchildren ridiculously overblowing let's plays and novice gaming chat from c rate celebrities.
We want to see gameplay, mechanics, extra modes, cool in game architecture and menu screens from professionals, not amateur men in blazer crap.
As for the speakers #1 A way out #2 Star Wars Battlefront 2 The rest ZZzzz! All the game trailers look good. The New IP from Bioware ANTHEM peeked my interest but I think it will Xbox exclusive.
I shut it off pretty quick. It was pretty boring.
Formulaic, dull and mildly disappointing. That was NOT worth staying up until 3am to see!
I think it was pretty much the same as it's been for the past few years. Most people from what I've seen on Twitter were really just waiting for Star Wars Battlefront 2 news. I never really find the sports/car game bit that interesting, but A Way Out looked promising. Not sold on Bioware's new title Antham either, just looks like an amalgamation of Titanfall COD etc. I'm very much looking forward to what Bethesda show, as they have had a great year for games.
EA, Everybody's Asleep.
The live chat on here was the only entertaining thing about it.
It's frustrating because I feel that the games are actually really good, it's the poor production choices and extremely cringe inducing presenters that are the problem.
To much fake excitement from really poor commentators and presenters, way too much pausing to allow for non existent applause and the ratio of boring talking to actual game play was crazy.
I don't understand how a company can be so oblivious as to what makes a successful conference, just look at how Sony and to a lesser degree, MS do theirs. We are here to see games, show them off.
as a whole the entire thing was a total bore fest, it wasn't very well put together and the hosts just seemed like they wanted to amscray as quickly as possible but some of the games they showed were interesting
so over all on your scale, it was Meh
It set the bar low.
I was only interested in their Anthem announcement TBH.
