We’re going to blow your mind a bit here: WipEout Omega Collection has scored the first ever UK sales charts number one in the iconic series’ history. Yes, that’s really true – it’s the first WipEout game ever to top the British sales charts. Has your mind been blown? We’re pretty bloody shocked ourselves, to be honest with you.
This week’s best sellers list makes good reading for the PlayStation 4, with Horizon: Zero Dawn back up in fourth position following a spate of great discounts, and Tekken 7 sticking around in second place. DiRT 4 debuted in third position, as Injustice 2 began its tumble out of the top ten in eighth place.

I'm genuinely shocked. I can't believe this is the first WipEout to get to number one.
Good. ARMS wont chart and we can get to more good games with Crash.
@BLP_Software Of course it will chart!
No my mind hasnt been blown but Wipeout was set at a reasonable price as well I think.
@get2sammyb Youre brave to think that.
UK plus low console plus motion control focus
Yay for Wipeout! Get studio Liverpool survivors together and give us a new episode, Sony.
I would even settle for another collection with Wipeout, 2097 and Wip3out.
Vroom!
That's actually quite surprising, I'd have thought that maybe 2097 or Wip3out would've gotten a number 1 in the past. This bodes well, though! Really hope it does well enough to warrant a fully fledged sequel.
Also happy to see DiRT 4 in the charts
Wipeout deserves it. Played it last night and I'm having a blast.
Guess being sold at £25 helped a lot.
Nice, wipeout, tekken, and next month, crash trilogy, it seems we're back to the 90's
I'd love to see the number's, i'd hazard a guess that if you added up the whole of this month's top 10 sale's, it wouldn't match the 800,000+ sale's it took to get Far Cry Primal to the UK number one in Feb 2016. Maybe Digital sale's are so high the physical chart's are suffering? Maybe it's time we included digital sale's in the top 10? I hope this is the case tbh.
I already have Wipeout HD and Fury on PS3 , they look tremendous and are quite probably the best looking games on PS3.
Would I be crazy rebuying the Omega Collection as I already own 2/3rds of the tracks. I'm in a conundrum.
That's like a rocket up the ass, should send quakes through the industry.
Not really suprising tbh. I mean since Sony, MS and Nintendo started finally providing digital sale numbers as well, it just proves how important and well received exclusives are.
@BLP_Software Arms did look kinda nice to be fair.
@Flaming_Kaiser Eh, I don't really think so. Its not going to move systems and its a motion control first game.
I got wipeout yesterday. Really like. But wow! It is unforgiving in difficulty!
