Action role-playing title Vampyr will launch at some point in November, publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced. In it, you play as Jonathan Reid, a doctor who also happens to be a vampire. Naturally, you'll be forced to make tough moral choices as Reid struggles with his vampyric urges.
The game's new cinematic trailer - which we've embedded above - should give you a better idea of the title's overall tone. Dark and brooding, it's just about everything that you'd expect - we just hope that the finished release lives up to expectations.
Is Vampyr on your wishlist? Don't spill too much of the red stuff in the comments section below.

I thought the trailer was poor! It really does little to sell the game and offers very little insight into the game-play itself. Its a game I am interested in but really was left 'cold' by the trailer...
Hmmm, I'm excited for the game, but I'm not sure that trailer worked really.
Talk about being thrown to the wolves! Launching a new IP in November to go up against CoD, Battlefront 2, probably Mario Odessey and all the other big guns just doesn't seem wise at all imo. January would probably be better for something like this but who knows. Hope they do well.
@redd214 Agree, November is a poor launch month, they'll be a new Assassins Creed too which will directly compete with it, January would be the perfect month
Terrible trailer. @get2sammyb If this game doesn't do well, I expect a Taylor swift song as the title.
@ztpayne7 I'm ready!
@redd214 In fairness, those likely to buy CoD and Battlefront are not generally looking to buy an RPG game. You could argue that any 'new' releases around November are pointless. Its also available on XB1 and PC too and if 'good' enough, could do OK.
Mario Odyssey could well be a 'big' game for Nintendo but only concerns those with a Switch. The same was said regarding Horizon vs Zelda but Horizon:ZD is (currently) the 2nd best selling PS4 'new' exclusive (not inc Remasters) - outselling Bloodborne, Infamous, Killzone etc. Only the Naughty Dog Games have sold more (U4, Nathan Drake Collection and LoU remastered).
I don't think this will break records in the sales department. Its not as if its well known or on many peoples 'most wanted' list. Selling it an any time of the year isn't going to be easy but this could be a slow burner rather than an instant hit...
Looks alright but November is when all those big triple A games come out and this'll be lost in all those titles.
It's still Focus Interactive. Look at their games, then think how good this might actually be.
@BAMozzy I get what you're saying but comparing Horizon to this is apples and oranges. Horizon had a HUGE marketing push which this game does not. Not even remotely close to the same thing
That wasn't hella good.
@redd214 And yet that's pretty much what you are doing with this. I am under no illusion that this game will struggle but it would struggle in any month because its an unknown and not well marketed. Chances are though, if someone was looking for an RPG, they may well be interested and we don't yet know the price which could also work in its favour. If its £20 for example, that may persuade a few more to take a gamble...
Only those with or looking to buy a Switch will be interested in Mario. Those interested in FPS may have to decide between CoD or SW:BF2 but those looking for an RPG may opt for this if it reviews well...
Is this digital only didn't see on Amazon?
Saucey trailer. I'm still curious what this game is about besides vampires. Are you hunting them? Are you one of them?
@BAMozzy well we can agree to disagree then. Think it's a poor decision but like you said I hope it reviews well
@redd214 When is a 'good' time to release this? January to March is often too soon and people may pick up the 'big' games they missed out on in the run up to Christmas, April - June can be quiet but a lot of focus on the upcoming E3 over shadows a number of releases, July-September is often quiet too but people are looking forward to the big games and buzzing about the 'new' reveals from E3 and then you are back into the holiday season and competing against the likes of CoD and BF again. There is always a big game coming out 'soon' and always 'big' games that have released you may have missed so there is always 'competition'. What will govern its success is whether enough people are looking for this type of game and whether it delivers the quality of experience they want.
If this was releasing in the same week/month as big well known RPG's, like Witcher, Fallout, RDR etc, unless its exceptional, its unlikely to do well. When ever it launches though, there is likely to be 'big' games around it and its not exactly been well promoted. Its doing its own thing, like they should, releasing when its ready. If its 'good' enough, it will sell. Maybe not a big seller in the first month but could be a grower, a 'steady seller. Its not like putting TF2 up against CoD and BF1 - a game in the same genre.
Those without a Switch are not going to pick up Mario instead of it either so what comes out on that platform makes no difference to the majority of gamers. Admittedly its likely to be of interest to more gamers than any PSVR release will as more gamers own Switch. It could sell more than Farpoint for example because of the number of gamers that could have access.
This is on my Radar because I like RPG's and the theme is interesting. I won't 'not' buy it because of CoD or BF2, It will not be bought because its not a good RPG for the cost.
@Scarbir Focus Home Interactive is just the Publisher for Vampyr.
DONTNOD Entertainment, the creators behind the awesome games Remember Me and Life is Strange, are the Developer.
I am excited for this game big time but at the same time, trailer was meh and November is just not the time for this release. This should be a January release IMO, or maybe an August/Sept release. This will get swalloed up completely.
@BAMozzy not reading your wall of text but as i said before we can agree to disagree. Hope you enjoy it
I continue to be excited about this game despite the developer's best efforts to dissuade me. Every video I've seen makes it look like this game is going to be a half-assed mess, but I see a kernel of something brilliant in there that I'm clinging to. I sincerely hope that this game is released with the proper amount of polish, and that it's immersive and fun. I eagerly await Push Square's review in November.
I'll be picking this up
It's DONTNOD, I'm sure it will a decent enough game. Remember Me got the mediocre treatment but I really enjoyed it.
I was excited about this game until I saw this trailer. Hopefully a gameplay reveal will get me back on board.
@ApostateMage Same here I really liked Remember Me.
