How do you improve upon the Disaster Report titles? Throw legendary monsters like Godzilla and Ultraman in, of course. Bandai Namco has released the first full-length trailer for Granzella’s ludicrous City Shrouded in Shadow, an upcoming PlayStation 4 game that sees you assume the role of an average man or woman as the world is ravaged by famous monsters. It looks so stupidly janky that it’s actually amazing.
Pre-orders are already open in Japan, with classic Disaster Report costumes up for grabs as a bonus. Digital pre-orders will also unlock a special scene involving PlayStation mascots Toro and Kuro. The title’s due out on 19th October, with no Western release currently planned. Heads up, Bandai Namco: you’re always localising rubbish Sword Art Online games, it’ll be a crime if you don’t bring this overseas. Please, we’re begging.

IT'S SO DUMB!
@get2sammyb Damn weeb games ;p
I never saw the appeal of Godzilla. Always felt like Junk food. Or jank food...
But it looks...nice? Eh?
@BLP_Software
@get2sammyb Classic. Monster movies always felt...dull? Is that the word? Like the Transformers or horror (See: blood and guts is spoopy) movies.
Anyhow, back to planning charity streams XD This will either break down barriers between console users or spark the unholiest flame war

HOLD ME BACK LADS, HOLD ME BACK
After one look at the trailer, I can safely state that this is the type of game that would immediately be placed on my ignore list.
I think it's positively bonkers!
It looks so bad, it's good. Really hoping that this game turns out better than the rubbish Godzilla game Bandai Namco gave us in 2015.
Can't believe that you actually had the balls to call the SAO games rubbish. I mean, I personally don't like the games. I mostly find them very average (with Lost Song being the worst one in terms of content and gameplay) and I'm just very tired of playing a SAO game where it is all about Kirito and his waifus but seeing someone like you saying something like this to the games in a site that scores the SAO games almost as the same as Gravity Rush 2's and Wipeout's (of course, Akiba's Beat and Natural Doctrine got the same score so...wot), I'm a bit surprised.
Looks good to me!
My favourite moment is lady filming a monster slither past on her phone. Makes it seem almost a real life sim.
Could be jumping the gun a bit. I would have released the game a week after 'Ready Player One' hit the screens - seeing as (avoiding all spoilers for those not familiar with the book) the monsters all play a part in the story.
I really hope this gets localised. Never played the Disaster Report games but I've always thought they looked great. And this is just... such a great idea for a monster movie game. Screw being Cloverfield, let me be Running Salaryman #23
Also dat wotsity award bait song....
Jp always keeps the beat games to themselves....
There's no way this comes west, too awesome.
Did 1 of the Yakuza games have kaiju in a DLC pack? Saints Row?
Sleeping Dogs? Anyway, this seems like Yakuza vs Cloverfield to me. Not sure how in an article and 14 comments Cloverfield never got mentioned, this is the game of that but w/ famous monsters and mechs.
Not sure how much game is in there, but I'd still play it. But only w/ the Japanese voices, this would never ever work w/ English voice acting, too ridiculous.
@rjejr Agreed, just sub-titles please.
@ShogunRok WHO SAID THAT!
I'm 100% in if this gets localised. The amount of cool to dumb things happening in that trailer left me dumbfounded and so so intrigued
GOTY
No chance of a localisation though, hopefully we at least get an English-Asia release.
Yea I agree. There always releasing garbage Japanese titles over here. This one actually looks cool. Be a shame not to get it.
@get2sammyb Movie only needs 1 subtitle.
This looks like the kind of game that is better watched than played! I bet the people who made this had an absolute blast... There's no way they did it with a straight face!
Gotta say another must have if it put in English. I grew up with all these Famous Monsters. I bought Godzilla, very poor game but Being Godzilla it's all good.
This looks like campy fun, do we know if this is coming west or not?
Hopefully this at least gets a English release in Asia for importing. As Bandai has done with several of it's other titles recently where licencing (or other reasons) would be too much of a hassle in the west. Gundam Breaker 3, Summer Lesson, Super Robot Wars, etc.
I loved disaster report! Im totally down with this!
