Yeah, I work in marketing and can confirm the latest trend is using bland cardboard to sell products.

I wouldn't call this so much of a square enix thing, more so a Japan thing. They just do things so.....well we'll say "different" over there, for lack of a better term.

I didn't actually mind lightning, I'd have been as grumpy as her surrounded by that lot 😆 Snow on the other hand is the dullest character in the series, his fighting style is even to just stand there and do absolutely nothing

Strangely IX is the only one I haven't played, well since the PS1 anyway. I've just hooked my PS3 back up so I may have to give it a go. I tried loading my save file from VIII but last time I played I must have gone to some random island to draw magic so I have absolutely no idea where I'm meant to be going

Hey, Lightning is cool and way less annoying than emo boy Squall or weeaboo Alladin Van! (just started the game - God, he is so pointless and his stupid voice...) Noctis and his cohorts would have made more sense for a car though

I want the 13 trilogy on PS4. For some reason some characters are not good but overall I liked those games. Lightning is on eof my favourite characters.

@belmont agreed. I love how people Love cloud but hate lightning since they are obviously the same character. Blatant sexism, people just don't realise what they don't like is playing with a female lead, especially when she's not the usual "I am sorry" jrpg act.

@carlos82 definitely give it a try. 9 is fantastic. The last 'true' final fantasy in my eyes; a fantastic story, villain, setting. It just has everything. Its my favourite game of all time though, so I guess I am a little biased

Question you have to ask, is why use final fantasy 13 characters now. Bit strange, given how long since those games came out. I still feel in the future, 13 might get reassessed as being better than people currently think. But I acknowledge, as good as it looks, the battle system was far too basic

Regardless of opinion on XIII, you would've thought that they would've used XV characters because, you know, they actually drive a car!

Poor Fang.

Vanille, Lightning and Sazh are the three FFXIII added to my roster of favourite FF characters (XIII-2 also added Serah, the arguably most Madoka-esque character in the whole franchise to date). Hope scored least out of the main cast with me at first, too, although he never annoyed me - I doubt [m]any real life 13-year-olds would fare that much better in his circumstances, and once the guy shapes up, he's set on the course to become the borderline de-facto world leader we meet years later.

If anyone ever really annoyed me in FFXIII trilogy, it's Alyssa (while I get where she's coming from, "let's sabotage and endanger the apocalypse prevention team because I'm paranoid I might get accidentally written out of existence during their timeline tampering" can only be understood, not accepted as a legitimate excuse to screw the rest of the world). But that's much of the impression the story was aiming for.
