You wanted space battles in your Star Wars Battlefront 2, and that’s exactly what EA Games debuted during its Gamescom 2017 press conference. The new Starfighter Assault mode – developed by Criterion in conjuction with DICE and Motive – is a rounds-based competitive multiplayer mode, featuring craft classes and much more.
Check out a full match as the Rebels attempt to take down the Imperial defences above Endor. Are you liking what you see?

Was always looking to buy this - especially as they announced a SP and made changes to the MP after the disappointing first game. This bit of game-play though was pretty 'ordinary' and not 'that' different from the last games air-vehicle combat mode - just set in space...
I enjoyed Battlefront 1, even in its simple form, but cannot wait for this. Shinier, better, customisable. So glad I pre-ordered this already.
Looks mostly good. My minor complaint would be the large ship explosions. They appear just to go up in smoke. I would have liked to see maybe more debris or half a ship burning and listing to one side. I'm just nitpicking though.
Granted it's very anal and doesn't really matter, but seeing the word "DEFENCE" in that gameplay from a US standpoint sort of annoyed me. I know Gamescom is European and uses the DEFENCE spelling so it's no problem on that front, but spelling can bug me sometimes and I hope it's changed to the American English DEFENSE in the US version. (I Googled the difference just to make sure I wasn't too paranoid.) I know: I need help.
I don't understand the difference between these kinds of battles and the ones present in the first game to be honest lol...it's the freakin same but just lazier since it's in space and the background can be black with stars!
On the DLC for Rogue One there's a pretty cool space battle too...
Don't understand why people were so b*tchy about it!
