We criticised StarBlood Arena for focusing on online multiplayer given PlayStation VR’s smaller install base, but to be fair to the hero-based affair it has managed to attract a very small but very dedicated audience. And developer White Moon Dreams will be hoping to add to that this week with the release of a demo for the title.
Out now on the PlayStation Store, the sampler promises to give you a taste of the high-octane, topsy-turvy action you can expect to find in the final game. Maybe check out our review and give the demo a go – there is a lot to like about StarBlood Arena, it just lives and breathes by the strength of its community.

I was waiting for this! Multiplayer VR games like Star Trek & Werewolves Within are so cool, but dicey propositions when the install base is relatively small. And with no cross-platform play, I've been too nervous to spend money on StarBlood Arena. Hopefully this gets a lot of us into it!
I love the PSVR, but that said, every game for the PSVR should have a demo. I have purchased many of the games and have been pleasantly surprised time and time again but several titles leave me scratching my head as to how they made it past testing. Most recently Arizona Sunshine. What a disappointment and it was a pricier PSVR game. If there was a demo, I never would have purchased that turd. Maybe it will be good after 52 patches, but right now...no. I don't care to bite the bullet on a $10-15 game and have it not be awesome. But, if you're asking for a close to premium price, a demo should be required for consumer "protection".
Follow up, has anyone played Smashbox Arena yet?
Its on sale I believe still until tomorrow for 12 quid down from 35, I've been thinking about picking it up.
It's actually one of the better looking PSVR games I've played and it definitely feels like one of the more polished experiences for the platform. Shame it can be pretty tough to actually find an online match to join though I guess this is where the PS4's Communities functionality comes in handy.
There is enough single player content in here for those wanting to unlock customisation items for each of the pilots/ships.
I've said this countless times but... EVE VALKYRIE is your go-to compagnon for Virtual Battles. Incredible game, extremely polished, you really feel you ARE a space pilot - got to look in every direction of your cockpit to lock adversaries - AND the game is cross platform, so you ALWAYS fin a party in a few seconds.
And guess what ? I just got a mail from CCP (the developpers) saying that the first extention of the game will open it to regular gameplay (on your tv, so), increasing again the community of pilots ! So now it will be "cross platforms - cross realities". If you have a PSVR, you want to try this game.
@Bobobiwan I have Eve Valkyrie and I quite enjoy it. My personal go to for showing off PSVR is RIGS. Still hoping for a Sports Champions and a good golf game in VR.
