Here's 10 Minutes of Gameplay from the Secret of Mana Remake

Mana-gnificent?

The PlayStation 4 and Vita remake of Secret of Mana had a playable demo at PAX West, so it's time to see what the game looks like in action. You can gawk at the footage captured from a Twitch livestream of the title above.

When the remake was revealed last month, it divided opinion. Some are simply happy that such a classic is being reworked, while others have been critical of the game's all-new visual style. The news that the remake will cost £33 when it launches on the PlayStation Store next year didn't go down especially well, either.

But what do you make of the gameplay itself? Is it looking okay, or are you concerned? Swing a sword in the comments section below.

Looks good to me, I like those graphics. Again, Square are too high on the price. Dunno what they are smoking.

Never was too big on Secret of Mana, but if they fix the magic system so that you don't need to go to the menu and stop the flow of the game every time you want to use magic. Then I might consider it, at some point anyway.

Game looks fine, visually and gameplay wise, and i love the SoM series, but $40....come on now. I have so many other games on my wish list at or under that price that deserve my attention more than a remake of an SNES game.

I swear I've played Secret of Mana before. It seems familiar.

Anyways, I might get it at some point. Probably when it's cheaper.

@Deadlyblack It originally came out on the SNES . It's also been available on the Wii and Wii U VC as well. Several other games of the series have been released as well including

Final Fantasy Adventure on the Gameboy
Sword of Mana which is a remake of FFA on the GBA
Legend of Mana on PS One

Then there was a spinoff called Childers of Mana on the DS.

$40 is okay if at least it's cross-play and cross-save, I think I'll wait for a discount for this game.

Wasn't sure about the graphical style but I think I'll be okay seeing it more in action. Not sure if day one or just shortly after.

I'll get it on sale. Not a big fan of this kind of visual style and it id overpriced...if you can play online coop with your friends it's going to be a lot of fun nonetheless.
