Anyone else feel like winter’s embrace has arrived all of a sudden? It’s been absolutely freezing here in the UK this week, and a torrential downpour is battering Push Square Towers as we type this. There’s never been a better time to stay indoors, boot up the PlayStation 4, and play some games, then.

I’m on heavy review duty right now, which means that my weekend is going to consist of a lot of gaming and a little bit of writing. What am I playing? A fighting game involving comic book characters and a project all about cars.

It's all about Dishonored: Death of the Outsider this weekend as I stealth, stab, and steal my way through for review. I'll be bringing that to you early next week, swiftly followed by another review of a somewhat cornier nature.

Thanks to the latest PSN sale I will be playing MLB The Show 17 which I will admit I am enjoying a lot. I also plan to get some time in with Dragon Quest Heroes II as well.
A short and sweet update from us this week, but that's okay – it's over to you in the comments section below. What are you playing this weekend? You know the drill.

Trying to make some head way in Destiny, want to get raid ready! Also more Pillars, haven't played in a couple of days but it's awesome.
Metroid.
And some game dev stuff to work out how the hell NBA2K18 has a 5GB save file.
I'm just starting out on my Destiny adventure (the first game). Also playing the quite frankly brilliant FFIX on my Vita.
@ApostateMage Where you upto on 9? Assume it ain't your first run through anyway. So many great moments in that game. Most of them in Lindblum and Alexandria!
@BLP_Software In my experience, sports games often have massive save files. I assume it's because when you're playing Manger or Career modes, it's tracking a helluva lot of data, like clubs signing players, youth players' stats improving, etc etc.
Hopefully Destiny 2 if it comes today but I do work weekends so might not be much of it if any🙁
I work this weekend so not much. I will do some Injustice 2 work on my endless hunt for Cat Call and maybe finish the story on Agents of Mayhem.
Carrying on with Destiny 2 story and adventure missions.
@get2sammyb Yeah sure. But 5GB? That's a small-mid sized game!
@kyleforrester87 I started again right from the beginning so I've just entered the Ice Cavern. I just love the characters in this one, I'd say it's the best FF game that I've played. I really hope SE bring it to PS4 so it doesn't chug so much in battles.
Finished my second run of NieR Automata last night and will continue onto my third. 😀
@kyleforrester87 How's the control scheme in Pillars? Is it as good as Divinitys? Also would you rate the story better than Divinities so far? Loved a lot about divinity but thought the story wasn't great
Not much for me this weekend due to work but thankfully this will be the last time I'll be working weekends as I just got offered my first teaching post 🙂And on my birthday no less! So from next week onwards I'll look forward to adding to this article a lot more
@BLP_Software I remember having a game on the GameCube that took up an entire memory card.
Destiny 2, working to get raid ready. I hit the minimum level this morning but I want to keep going.
@ApostateMage FFIX is hands down my favorite FF game and one of my top RPGs of all time.
Mostly Destiny 2, with some Everybody's Golf & F1 2017 thrown in as well.
@Hego Pillars combat system seems a lot more complicated and chaotic, especially with a controller. There are a ton of abilities and magics and I'm left wondering if I'm using everyone efficiently. Aside from a few strategic moves here and there my team are generally left up to their own devices. Still, after 20-30 hours im starting to understand it all a bit more and it's becoming quite satisfying. I'm playing it really slowly though, so I'm not far through compared to my game time. Overall (so far) I prefer the slower paced more thoughtful combat in Divinity where you really need to make the most out of all your skills and turns to emerge victorious.
Story-wise I'd say Pillars is a lot better, although I kinda preferred the more up beat and colourful tone in Divinity.
So overall Divinity is probably a nose ahead right now but Pillars stil has plenty of game left to win me over.
Both are great fun as I cant wait for Divinity OS2 and Pillars 2!
@ApostateMage Totally agree! I get the feels just thinking about it! Lol
@get2sammyb That was back in the MB days Sammy. This is 5**Gigabytes*.
And for extra emphasis, that's 5GBs of your Switch internal storage, per file.
@BLP_Software I know, I'm just saying sports games have always had gigantic save files innit.
Destiny 2 here. Unfortunately, I can't do Raids as my mates don't have the game.
PS4: Disgaea 5, Knack 2, Dark Souls 2
PSVita: Final Fantasy 3
Bouncing between games. The ultimate grind continues in Disgaea 5- just got my first rank 40 gear!
Also planning to make some headway in Knack 2, Dark Souls 2 & FF3, which is quite easily the worst Final Fantasy game I've played.
Trying to finish Sword Coast Legends, but the long loading times keep me from playing it consistently.
I really don't know. I'll figure it out as I go.
Probably Everybody's Golf.
Gonna play through more of the story in Uncharted 2 this weekend. There might be time for some Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX or Monster Hunter Generations as well.
Almost done with Rise of the tomb raider. I am playing this a few months after Uncharted and I am kinda disappointed.
Destiny 2. I didn't get into the first one, but I'm loving this game. Bset time I've had playing games in a long while.
Also will be playing some Metroid on my 3ds, it'll be an all out space alien weekend!
@kyleforrester87 Cheers man, think I'll pick it up at some point
Playing knack 2 and zelda botw. Knack 2 is surprisingly great, playing against enemy ai is fun because they fight back, rolling and evading player, sniping from afar or defending with shield. I have more fun fighting enemy ai in knack compared to ratchet & clank. And 60 fps mode is really great
@BLP_Software Ouch, you can install a couple of indie games with 5GB storage. And I though 600mb save file for final fantasy xv is big.
@wiiware Yeah, you can install quite a few indie titles for 5GB. But a save file? Not even the game, the thing that keeps track of progress, is 5GB!
My usual diet of Lost Legacy and Splatoon 2. Maybe continue Crash 2 or Gravity Rush.
Project Octopath Traveller demo, Splatoon 2 and Rocket League.
I just started the Last Guardian - loving it but that is putting it mildly, the first couple of hours have just completely blown me away, it's so poetic and elegant with no UI in your face all the time, no flashing lights, no life bars...and it looks enchanting.
I'm working most of the weekend so I needed something quick and easy. Step up The Order 1886 for a cheap platinum. I played it last year, but I'm enjoying my second run-through a lot.
I might play a round of Everybody's Golf, but I've been trying to catch up on Destiny since I missed last weekend due to the Pro crash issues. I still have a very large backlog I need to address.
@Kyroki Cheers buddy, we'll have to go raiding together once I get my apartment sorted!
Yakuza Kiwami will be the main game. Samurai Showdown V Special, Street Fighter V, and Tekken 7, as well. Wanna make room for Injustice 2 and Lost Legacy as well.
I just beat Lost Legacy last night. Gonna clean up a few trophies but not going for the plat. Gotta get back to Horizon on Ultra difficulty and then TLG
@stueyd67 Join The Push square clan. Usually a few of us online to play with, good bunch as well.
I'm not able to play much this weekend due to work but I'll be on Destiny 2 as much as possible. Hopefully box off the nightfall and a bit of crucible.
Been trying to cut through my log of games. I'm about to finish Last of Us, just need to do the Left Behind chapter. After that, I'll play some more FFVII.
All Ys 8 all weekend. I'm going to be living on Ys-ey street.
I am so sorry.
Mario+Rabbids all the way!
R.I.P. PS4 (until 2018)
@sketchturner Mario And Rabbids is easily the best game on Switch so far..an amazing game!
I have a long weekend this week so have till Tuesday to get a hefty amount of gaming time in.
So far I have spent most of my time on Mario And Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Witcher 3.But also put in some PSVR time for The Lost Bear and Bandit Six
Seems an odd choice giving Sammy the project cars 2 review, he's made it pretty clear he's a huge GT fan, and didn't like the first project cars.
I'll be playing some Samus Returns, D2, and probably some golf this weekend.
@RedMageLanakyn So reviews should only goto people who are fans of the franchise to begin with? Seems equally as odd. Personally I reckon a professional reviewer should (largely, although not completely) put personal feelings aside and judge it on its merits. That's just me though!
@Feena It only gets better as well. Might have to play through that again! Hyped for SOTC. How's the Pro working out for you? Got the 4K TV yet?
Persona 5 - this game just doesnt end.
@kyleforrester87 it will be delivered this Thursday For now I like how silent it is and I am very impressed by the high frame rate mode of FFXV, the difference is like night and day! I hope the Witcher 3 gets a similar mode in the upcoming patch. The Last Guardian also seems to have a super solid frame rate but I haven't played it on the vanilla ps4 so I really can't say. That game is incredible though, seriously!
@themcnoisy so true it just keeps going lol
@kyleforrester87 If it's been made blatantly obvious (and written) that someone prefers one franchise over another in the same genre, then yes, I'd say give it to someone a little more neutral in the matter. No matter how "professional" a reviewer may claim to be, putting aside bias is really hard to do, and to expect it to happen is pretty unlikely.
I'm not suggesting Sammy is going to automatically bomb the review, i'm just wondering why someone with a more neutral position wasn't considered for it.
@Feena good stuff! TLG was a bit shakey on the Pro with a 4K TV when it launched. Maybe it's patched now, but with a bit of messing around you can get a nice balance of resolution versus frame rate:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-how-to-access-smoother-performance-for-the-last-guardian-on-4k-screens-ps4-pro
I think if you don't do it you'll notice performance really take a nose dive on your new TV.
@RedMageLanakyn Fair does, I'm sure Sammy will review it with integrity! That said having been reading this site a few years I've realised me and Sammy have pretty different tastes in games so I do consider that when I read his reviews. It takes all sorts!
@kyleforrester87 Yeah, i'm not worried about him not putting maximum effort into it, i know he'll make sure he can back up what he's writing. Maybe it'll even win him over at least until GT comes out.
With the house move 100% over, keys for the old place handed over etc, I can finally relax and get into Destiny 2 properly. I finally finished the last mission of Knack 2 last night, having left it incomplete for a week. I'd also like to jump into the Imperial City DLC for ESO in an attempt to catch the last 2 days of the anniversary event.
Well I'm hoping to get my copy of Persona 5 next week and if it's half as good as people say it is then I'm going to be in for a good time.
I have got stuck into Metroid, Samus returns and it is just ace. This is going to be my main game till I finish it.
Nioh has me hooked. I think I may like it more than bloodborne. Also picked up absolver. Seems pretty interesting.
Hitman, disc version. $30 new. Great price but huge file. I just loaded it and it is 57GB with all updates. Had to delete a lot from my 500GB but with less than 300GB actually usable like maybe really only just 275GB usable 500GB hard drive.
Sunday football time will have me passively producing product in my GTA bunker. Buy supplies and then watch security cameras while watching game, then sell stock.
Finally starting Witcher 3 Blood and Wine
I'm playing dishonored death of the outsider, pillars of eternity and destiny 2. I luckily beat the raid yesterday so that will help free up some of my time to focus on the other two games before reset.
Finished Knack 2, started Metroid: Samus Returns.
@kyleforrester87 Thank you, that is some very useful info! So basically the game has two ps4 modes but you can't manually select them! I think I'll keep playing with the smoother frame rate even on the 4k Tv using this method thanks again!
I started Metroid Samus Returns. It's brilliant so far! Six months ago it would have seemed crazy to think that there would be a new side scrolling Metroid. They've really nailed it.
I've spent most the day continuing with Final Fantasy XII. I'm almost done now, I reckon I'll have it finished this week. Tomorrow I'm going to carry on with Metroid though!
Samurai Warriors 4
@Hego happy bday and congrats bro.
Ill mostly be playing the fifa 18 demo to piss my moody girlfriend off. Life eh.
Blaster Master Zero (Switch) - I've already completed this 100%, now I'm replaying it to try out the DLC characters.
Splatoon 2 (Switch) - Kelp Dome was one of the best stages in the first game, so I'm really glad they brought it back. I still have to try out the other content added in the recent update.
Uncharted 4 (PS4) - I've had this sitting in my backlog for a long time, and I finally started it earlier today. I'm not a big fan of the Uncharted series, but I'm enjoying it so far. I'm currently at chapter 8.
Battlefield 1 & Hellblade.
Trying to finish knack 2 seems alot longer than folks let on. Completed a mission or two in dishonored death of the outsider. Also playing some nba live 18 and metroid samus returns
@Hego get in Shane, congrats on the job. Hope u had a gr8 birthday.
@get2sammyb It was Animal Crossing and it came with a free memory card in the box. Always wondered why...
@THRILLHOU Sounds a great idea! I'll do that. Thanks.
I just clockup 77hours on "trails of cold steel 2", hope to have it complete by the time "rainbow skies" comes out on the vita.
Half way through mario+rabbids. Great game.
Animal Crossing New Leaf, Metroid Saumus Returns and a bit of TLOU(after the last patch). That and writing papers for college because I'm in college...
Anyone else playing absolver? Any tips? I think I suck 😔
