It’s been over a decade since the last Virtual-On game, but a new instalment is scheduled to release on the PlayStation 4 and Vita from 15th February in Japan. Announced during Sony’s TGS 2017 press conference, the game is a crossover with the A Certain Magical Index franchise. Which is weird, but there you go.

I'm confused by this game. Is there a visual novel aspect to it? Or is the crossover element all in the cinematics and characters? All of the gameplay I've seen looks like a straight-up VO sequel, which is exactly what I want...
Odd, i'm sure i saw a Virtual On game in Tokyo arcades when there about 3-4 years ago...I would have expected that, but if done well, a story based game could work..
Remember buying the original on Saturn back in the day, was excellent back then...

Good to see this show indeed has games I care about. I thought we had seen it all yesterday.
Good for Sega, go back to your dormant IPs and let them shine.
@sinalefa Haha, the one we didn't report on!
I know virtual-on, I know index, but how's those 2 related, what's the story?
This makes the Assassin's Creed x Final Fantasy 15 crossover look more acceptable.
I like the TO ARU franchise, but this looks dumb. Not to mention the mecha models look hideous IMHO. Seem like bad design overall.
