Gran Turismo Sport’s timed demo is available to pre-load now in some territories, and its file size is an absolute monster. Weighing in at an eye-watering 43GB, you’re probably going to want to queue this one up right now, as even a quick connection’s going to have to wrestle with that amount of data. Your progress will carry through to the full game, though, so this is a pretty worthwhile demo all things told.
It sounds like there’ll be a lot to do in the sampler, too. In addition to trying your hand at some of the new racing tutorials, you’ll also be able to enter online races, and faff around with the highly customisable Arcade Mode across three courses. A couple of Scapes and the new Livery Editor will also be included, as the demo runs from 12:00AM PT on 9th October through 8:00AM PT on 12th October.

We can delete demos right? IIRC that was an issue at one point, or was that just icons lingering?
Because 43GB is...hm. Nearly 1/20th of my storage there guys. How big is the actual game? Has to be well over 80 if 43GB is just a demo.
Since this demo has so much stuff and carries over to the full game, I bet it actually has most, if not all of the game. Just locked.
@sajoey Agreed. I wonder if people who decide to purchase the full game will be able to just download a key and not have to re-download the full game.
@get2sammyb @BLP_Software @sajoey Sounds to me like this'll be the same as when you download a "trial" version of a game. It's the full game, just limited use until you decide to buy it.
They need 43 gigs to leave out a proper campaign? That's impressive.
woah..need to make some space for that then. wasn't expecting it to be more than 10 GB. and surprised it's already available as they announced it to only be available starting 11 am MET.
@get2sammyb which will be neat unless there's a twenty-something Gb patch to download anyway. XD
@get2sammyb The official Gran Turismo website states "Required HDD space: Over 60GB" for the full game. http://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/products/gtsport/ any jobs going at push square? I need one....
That's lightweight compared to forza 7 on pc! 95gig game and 65gig patch.
Do you already know anything about reviews embargo? I could pre-order the game for € 49 until one day before release but first I want to know everything about offline gaming!
I think my broadband is powered by string with 2 cups on each end so by the time it's downloaded it will be all over.
I think this is the full game without the key, so if you buy it, you just need to download small 1-2mb of data.
By the time I download this the trial period will be over!
Edit: Haha, didn't see your comment, @ApostateMage
Better than the GR Wildlands demo. Think that was 57Gb!
All downloaded and ready, booted it up, calibrated the screen/ video settings and configured the audio settings, that's all that can be done for now until it unlocks fully on the 9th. Loving the music; overall atmosphere and visual presentation thus far though. p.s apparently it's possible to use turn signals and hazard light in the game using the touchpad, this is news to me lol.
I am still waiting for Battlefront 2's demo to download, I am totally skipping this one. That's the size of Lost Legacy for crying out loud!
@Timewarp87 65 GB patch and i though Bethesda was terrible...
@nhSnork
there is always a day one patch
only this time it will be 100 gig
You have a bandwith cap in the US thats kinda sad. I thought most would have a great connection.
@Flaming_Kaiser
No, the internet situation in the usa is deplorable.
The speeds are terribad, the coverage isnt much better
there are data caps.
And extortionist plans, entire area's are off the grid especially rural and those that can go online, often have awfull speed comparable to dial up or are even on dial up.
and the three main isp are content with data capping throtteling and bleeding their customers dry
( germany isnt much better )
@ShogunRok yup, confirming the same. it's a time trial not demo so much better
Lmao 43gb for a demo...madness
@KitsuneNight I find that so strange because i hear its also expensive. The Netherlands is much smaller ofcourse but we still need some work here. Somehow the bigger companies give you a worse deal which is kinda sad.

@KitsuneNight It’s like they really don’t want anyone to buy physical anymore. The game on the disc might as well be just a key because it’s half finished... rediculous.
I miss the days of cartridge... thankfully Nintendo (first party) still releases mostly finished games... and on cartridge too which is fun. Zelda’s had about 4 patches (I wasn’t counting) and they have all been around 1 to 3 hundred MB... same with Arms/MK8/Splatoon2... but something like Forza getting 65GB patches.. on day one..!!!?? wt actual f.
I just don’t get these massive patches.. Seriously though... how as consumers do we let them get away with releasing games that need such epic patches immediately.
