Soccer series Inazuma Eleven will finally stretch its legs on the PlayStation 4 in the form of new entry Ares, developer Level-5 revealed in a stream earlier today. The historically Nintendo-centric franchise will also score Switch, iOS, and Android editions, so it seems as though the Japanese company wants to open the brand up to a wider audience.
According to the developer, the title will be easier to play than your average footie title, keeping all of the characteristics of the sport but making it simple to enjoy. There’s some work in progress footage embedded above, but the firm says it’s aiming to significantly improve the game’s visuals ahead of its release in Japan next summer.

I guess the switch and ps4 editions will be the same and will be different from the IOS and android edition, but I wouldn’t be surpised if only the ps4 edition is unique and if the switch edition will be a lazy mobile port :/
EDIT: also, this game is like if pokemon meets football right? Not sure but I heard that somewhere.
@darkswabber Yeah, it's like a football RPG type thing.
@get2sammyb I heard the pokemon aspect was it had some gotta collect them all vibe with the collectible players.
So it's like a playable Panini sticker album? Got...got...got...need!
Please come to the West ! Hopefully the huge PS4 install base might tempt them , I would gladly take just a digital version too .
@get2sammyb Any word on a western release for the game?
I played one of these games on the DS, I thought it was very boring and lacking in any real depth. The only enjoyment I got was from the completely bonkers story, where in true anime fashion it somehow turned into "we're going to save the world by playing football!" towards the end.
Admittedly the game concept is interesting though.
I just hope it keeps the strategy layer that the originals had.
Maybe USA can be qualified on the World Cup with this game, after all, this is a fantasy game!
@Reanfan7 Nope!
I liked one of those games for the 3DS but this one looks so...idk, the defenders just stand there
It looks OK but personally, I really don't feel like this game is the inazuma eleven game that I know and love compared the DS/3DS games, might get it on switch since it's right at home for me at least!
@PS_Nation lol harsh burn
@Reanfan7 If it does get localized expect it to only release in Europe and not in North America.
