Well, this is it, then: the start of silly season. You better hope your backlog has been appropriately cleared, because there are a lot of games coming out over the next eight weeks, and regardless of which ones you choose, you’re going to need a lot of free time to play them all.

I’ll be patiently waiting for the Gran Turismo Sport demo to start by continuing my careers in MLB The Show 17, FIFA 17, and… Madden NFL 18. That’s right, I’ve actually upgraded one of my sports games since last WAYP, so I’m looking forward to correcting the New York Giants’ woeful form by playing on Rookie.

What a packed weekend of gaming this could turn out to be. I'll be diving into a number of different titles time permitting, including Middle-earth: Shadow of War, FIFA 18, and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. As if that wasn't enough, Gundam Versus and Battle Chasers: Nightwar are also on the agenda. This year really has been crazy for good games, hasn't it? RPGs, football, and Gundam all in one weekend, what more could I ask for?

This weekend I'm still in the depths of despair as I aim to finish of Danganronpa V3. I have a lot of theories about where it's going, so I'm interested to see if I'm right. My predictions so far are about 0 for 6 so I'm not holding my breath.

I'll be donning an eye patch and crawling around in the arid plains of Afghanistan as I take Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for a spin. Having played practically zero Metal Gear Solid, I'm not expecting to understand what's going on. I'm simply in for some stealthy action and Japanese quirkiness.

So it's October again, and that means two things: World Series and Hallowe'en. So I will be playing MLB The Show 17 and Castlevania Bloodlines to get into the October mood.
What's on your gaming agenda this weekend, then? Are you playing anything nice – or just killing time ahead of an anticipated release? Let us know in the comments section below.

Well, I am hoping to maybe start either Infamous or Amnesia Collection. I have also started a playthrough on Assassins Creed 2 on PS3 as the urge took me to give it a go.
Pillars and Destiny again. Well in the mood for some Evil Within 2 though. Love a Friday game realise too, roll on the 13th! I've only seen one trailer so don't really know what to expect.
Also seeing the new Blade Runner in a few hours so super hyped about that.
Metal Gear Solid V. Holy moly it's a good stealth action game. You have to sit through a lot of nonsense to get to where you want to be, but once you're out there taking on the enemies, it's fantastic. Unlike previous MGS games, getting caught is one of the best parts because then you can bring out the big guns, grenades, C4, attack helicopters... and just go to war. I'm very impressed by this game.
I'll be being told to mind the water's edge for the thousandth time.
Pokemon Gold, ryu no gotoku ishin, and a bit of The Division. Possible Yakuza Kiwami in there too.
@kyleforrester87 let me know how it is...We were torn between that and the new Kingsman movie but my friends and I came to a collective agreement to see Eggsy instead of Deckard tonight.
@Wesker Glad you're enjoying it. It is awesome. The problem I had was over reliance on silenced sniper rifles (lethal and tranq). Once you've got them the game can become really easy. You have to keep moving the goal posts yourself and setting yourself challenges to keep it really fresh. Use guns you don't normally use, or go in with nothing and use what you find.
Those two sniper rifles slung over your back looks sexy as hell through
I will be getting a little Injustice 2 blah blah blah you know Cat Call hunt blah blah blah. Then maybe some continuation on Yooka-Laylee which I plan on working on the plat this week while I'm on vacation.
Destiny 2. If I have time, I'd like to play some Dragon's Dogma and maybe some Divinity Original Sin 1 on PS4
mario kart 8 and hyrule warriors
what i want to play however is gundam versus
Dragons dogma and Metal Gear Solid 5 for me
@kyleforrester87 Good tip. I took the first sniper rife I could because I could see how useful it would be on the map. The enemies move slowly and aren't great at getting behind cover, so headshots are easy to come by. Far Cry 4 was also way too easy for the same reason. This is basically Japanese Far Cry.
Layton's Mystery Journey for me. Maybe some Monster Hunter Generations or Mega Man 6 as well.
PS4: Darksiders, Nioh, Disgaea 5
PSVita: Final Fantasy 3
Loving DarkSiders all over again on PS4. Might finish it over the weekend & move straight into DarkSiders 2.
I'm also back on Nioh following the recent update. Started 'Way of The Demon', which sure is hard, but I'm loving the new gear!
Also going to do some level grinding in D5 & FF3.
ps3 red dead redemption game of the year edition.
Dishonored 2 and MGS 5 Phantom Pain
I'm on holiday at the moment but managed to sneak my underused Vita and 3DS with me. I've been spending my gaming time back in the gloriously brutal world of Hotline Miami (this time trying to beat it handheld), mixed with small segments of Mario 3D Land ahead of the release of Odyssey at the end of this month.
@Wesker Unsilenced sniper rifles are a different ball game because you've got the risk/reward given the noise they make.
I kinda agree regarding the FC comparison, somehow MGS5 is aloooot better though.
Playing shovel knight specter of torment on vita, I like the linear campaign, can't wait for the king knight campaign
@kyleforrester87 Like I said, going loud is a lot of fun in MGSV. The firefights are great with the arsenal at your disposal. I agree that it's better than Far Cry. Probably it's the best action stealth open world game out there.
Having regretted my decision on a Triss/Yennefer choice in Witcher 3 I am sulking so will put that game aside for the weekend.
PS4 - Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta,Final Fantasy IX and Sky Force Anniversary.
PSVR - Wayward Sky.
Switch - Mario And Rabbids Kingdom Battle,Golf Story and Piczel lines.
As soon as the Battlefront beta downloads I will be playing it. Left it downloading it overnight and when I woke up it told me it had DNS issues that only happen with my PS4 and apparently when I am not looking.
Besides that I may come back to Overwatch and checking out the new map in Splatoon 2. May continue with Thumper, can't say I am enjoying it.
Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS.
I started Super Mario 3D World earlier this week and am playing a bit each day so I don't get through it too quickly. It's good and very whimsical, but so far it's not wowed me like the Galaxy games did.
Today I've decided to start Dishonored 2, which I got last Christmas but has remained in its cellophane until now! It's currently downloading the hefty update which even on my 50mb connection is still taking forever. Silly slow PSN grr.
Last but not least my early-morn and before bed game is Danganronpa V3. It's much weirder than the other two and some of the dialogue has been so crude it's made me laugh out loud. I also enjoyed a reference to alternate facts. I'm not very far into it but I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes. It's all very mysterious so far!
Dragon's Dogma. Just nonstop Drag-Dog. Gonna be draggin that dog all weekend.
Edit: (don't drag dogs)
Working this weekend so not a great deal, but I will definitely be playing some Destiny 2 tonight and til late Sunday
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash, and Yakuza Kawami.
Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch and Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U.
Yakuza Kiwami and random games on the Super NES Classic.
I'll likely continue playing things on PS3. FFVII is still on the table (Just started disc 3), but I've also been trying to finish Batman Arkham Origins. On PS4, if I'm not playing Yakuza Kiwami, I'll likely just be making Tekken videos for my new youtube channel.
I'll try to play Ocarina of Time 3D, as I've barely touched it since getting it.
I'm off to Longleat for a day out tomorrow, so my PS Vita will be charged and ready to go. Actual Sunlight and Sky Force for me.
Dragon's Dogma. One of my fave games now on PS4 and I won't stop until that plat is mine again
Sonic Generations for PS3, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony for Vita, and Earthlock: Festival of Magic for Wii U.
Gonna spend some quality nostalgia time with my SNES mini, probably Destiny 2, definitely some Cuphead.
Ive just finished Broken Age!
What a rubbish game.
@Wesker got mgs 5 at release and its one of the best games Ive ever played. Minus running into unclimable mountains. You get a run boost or two later on which helps massively. Also top tip, dont go crazy recruiting, i spent ages fultoning everyone i could find but if I started again (which i will very soon) I wouldnt go crazy in that regard.
The one big set piece that stands out is taking out loads of artillery and gaurds unarmed using a box, cqc and c4. Good times.
actually i might not game this weekend i just got a bunch of films on DVD so i might watch those instead
@vgamerist may god have mercy.
Nah it's not THAT bad.
@vgamerist I will probably get it next time it's on sale, I've completed the Chris and Leon sections twice on PS3. It's not so bad really.. I'd have preferred one long campaign though I guess.
Still I dunno what Capcom were thinking lol. It was a time when everything wanted to be like Call of Duty.
Dragon's Dogma, SNES Classic
Going on an adventure with @ShogunRok's Pawn in Dragon's Dogma.
I thought the Pawn system was great last gen and it's still pretty great now.
I know we're on Playstation Land, here, but I must confess that my gaming time was focused on playing the hell of my new Snes Mini. What a lovely, lovely hardware. And it's not just nostalgia : most of the games on it are just pretty damn good, even by today standarts.
Also, the GT demo will probably bring me back on my Ps4 pro.
@Splat Glad to be of service!
Typed a long post but phone went crazy and didn't work. Nioh, mafia 3.
😥
I got off work at 6AM Saturday morning and low and behold, game dleivery from Best Buy. Open it up and Shadow of War came early. Started it for an hour or so and awesome but work twelves all weekend and then football tomorrow. But I'll be playing that throughout the upcoming week.
Dark Souls 2 has been held up slightly by Sky Force Anniversary, which is unexpectedly brilliant. Talk to me Goose.
Shadow of War turned up yesterday, played until 1am loving it so far, some great new combat mechanics and some truely memorable captains so far.
@OutspokenHuman I really enjoyed GZ to be honest, played it for over 20 hours!
Horizon Zero Dawn, Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia (3DS) and Dragon's Dogma caught inbetween CV, portfolio and job hunting. Phew...
@themcnoisy It looked broken to me. Thanks for confirming that!
