Following in the footsteps of GameStop, mega retailer Amazon has now knocked 33 per cent off the price of one-year PlayStation Plus memberships, making them $39.99 for the time being. Whether you’re an existing subscriber looking to stack or a newcomer hoping to play some Star Wars Battlefront 2 over the Christmas break, you’re unlikely to find a better price than this for some time.

Remember: even if you’ve got a few months left on your current sub, you can take advantage of this offer and simply extend your membership by a year. The offer’s only available in the United States, and your code will be delivered via email digitally. Do let us know if you take advantage of the deal, though.

Was just going to buy a 12 month in December, but I'll just snatch this
@BezBot Yeah, I'd get it now. I'd be surprised if we see any better deals than this.
Some great deals for US gamers...
I can't believe I'm saying this but I am considering not continuing my sub. When I had a Vita, PS3 and PS4 it was a no brainer but now I only have the latter it seems a lot less valuable, especially as it's now more expensive.
Add to that the fact I have literally already owned most good PS+ games I'm interested in this year (not a fault of Sony I know just bad luck) and I don't really play MP so I'm starting to wonder if I really need it... Hmmm...
Couldn't get the Gamestop one but got this one earlier this morning instead.
Just renewed it at Gamestop. But I appreciate the heads up.
@Dodoo
If I didn't play multiplayer than I would honestly have no reason to buy a plus membership
At first I was reluctant to get this, then remembered Monster Hunter World is happening in about 2 months.
Just started a PS4 community called The Wycademy, it was made for friends but figured more folks for pick-up-groups could never be a bad thing.
Definitely will take advantage of this since my sub is up in December.
@NYJetsfan123 @Dodoo PS+ is still useful for buying games from PSN, especially during big sales due to the extra discounts you get with PS+.
The Monthly PSN Offerings have introduced me to Games, I would not have considered Playing - (Life is Strange and Until Dawn),which may lead to the purchase of sequels, similar Games or any DLC that is not available with the PSN Offering -
Games Saves stored in separate Server, plus as mentioned by ToddlerNaruto, some of the PSN Discounts for Members are Superb -
No, I do not work for Sony, but I feel the Package is Very Good Value for the Bucks
Don't play online much, actually not at all, but my kids and I play enough to justify $40 if they keep giving us games like MGSV and Earth Defense Force. And I've saved $10 or so buying Knack and other games on sale.
So thanks for the link. $43.44 w/ tax, we had $44.33 in Amazon GC, almost perfect.
I grabbed one from GameStop for $39.99 I think that price caused Amazon to lower to match their price. I am now good until April 2019
Been on Plus since launch...never once thought it was a bad value or considered unsubbing. Glad to re-up cheaper though.
Dumb question here: can I buy two of these and get 24 months out of it?
@Hordak Yes!
@get2sammyb Purchased PS+ on Amazon for $43, thanks. Next year it should get Uncharted: Lost Legacy, Kingdom Hearts 1-6, and RotTR:20thA, as I just bought all 3 for $73 (Target B2G1) and probably wont' get around to playing them before then. Well I'll play U:LL as soon as it arrives, the others have to wait until after a bunch of other stuff.
@NYJetsfan123 Yeah I'm starting to think the same. Might let it expire and see how I get on!
@ToddlerNaruto Yeah Sony do a good job at PSN sales and is a selling point for me on PS+. Thing is I'm not sure if I buy enough digitally to make £50 in savings though I probably do to be fair...
Excellent! Thank you - good now until February 2019.
@Dodoo I honestly don't buy that much monthly, but I'm sure I spend at least $40-$60 on PSN every year, especially now that I'm willing to buy DLC and Season Passes.
Purchased!
