We’re sure attendees are going to have a blast on the PlayStation Experience 2017 showfloor this year, but it’s sounding like a disaster if you want to follow the show outside of the United States. Sony’s revealed the schedule for the annual event which kicks off on Friday, 8th December – and you’re going to need a hearty helping of coffee if you’re not in America.
Things all begin with PlayStation Presents on Friday, 8th December at 20:00 Pacific Time – and 04:00 the next day in the UK. Urgh! This, the platform holder cautions, will not be the home of major E3 or Paris Games Week-esque reveals like in past years. Instead, there’ll be “updates on key titles” and “some special announcements” – but temper you expectations.
You’ll be able to watch the whole thing live here on Push Square, so we’ll have you covered – albeit through sleep encrusted eyes. Then on Saturday, 9th December the panels begin: Dreams, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted, and more. We’ve included the full brief below via the PlayStation Blog, so check that out. We’ll post (most) of these live on Push Square, too:
PlayStation VR Game Panel

IGN Ranks the Top 10 PlayStation Games of all Time
14:00 PT Saturday, December 9
IGN’s Podcast Beyond crew is here to figure out the 10 best PlayStation games ever, and they need your help! Uncharted 2 or The Last of Us? Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? Journey or Shadow of the Colossus? Is it too soon for Horizon Zero Dawn to make the list? Help us build the best of the best that PlayStation has to offer. Help us celebrate 20+ years of PlayStation at PSX!
Ghost of Tsushima: From Concept to Reveal
15:30 PT Saturday, December 9
It’s been a month since we announced our newest title, Ghost of Tsushima. Here at Sucker Punch, we’ve watched so many reaction videos and read many of your comments with smiles on our faces, so we thought PSX was a great opportunity to share a little more with you all.
Join us on Saturday at 3:30pm as Nate Fox (Creative Director), Jason Connell (Creative/Art Director), Billy Harper (Animation Director), Ryuhei Katami (Associate Producer, Sony Interactive Entertainment) and moderator Brian Altano (IGN) discuss how we approached making the debut trailer and what inspired us to make this game. We’ll share epic concept art that’s driving the tone and visuals for the game, and share a little about our reference trips to Japan and working with new team members that are helping make Ghost of Tsushima even better. Also be sure to stop by our signing session after the panel and come say hi. Stay tuned for more info on time and location.
Uncharted 10th Anniversary Celebration
17:00 PT Saturday, December 9
Join us as we celebrate the Uncharted 10th Anniversary at PSX 2017 with an unprecedented gathering of the cast from throughout the series! Nolan North, Emily Rose, Richard McGonagle, Claudia Black, Laura Bailey, Troy Baker, Graham McTavish, and Robin-Atkin Downes reflect on the series and share their memories with guest moderator Greg Miller (Kinda Funny). We’ll also be hosting a special signing session with the cast prior to the panel. Keep an eye on the PlayStation Experience app for time and location!
The Last of Us Part II: Meet the Cast
18:30 PT Saturday, December 9
Join Naughty Dog and the cast of The Last of Us Part II as they discuss the making of the cutscene teaser trailer that was revealed just a few short weeks ago at Paris Games Week. Director and writer, Neil Druckmann, co-writer Halley Gross, and key members of the game’s cast discuss the writing process, casting, performance capture, and more. For those attending the event, there will also be a signing session following the panel.
And that’s it! Of course, Sony’s also bringing over 100 games to the show floor, so expect much more news to come out of this year’s event. We’ll post a full schedule with more time zones and other key information in the coming days; in the meantime, you may want to adjust your sleep schedule if you’re planning to stay up for next week’s festivities live.

I can wait. I'll watch the videos over a nice cuppa and some marmalade on toast on Saturday and Sunday morning
that's far to early in the morning, i'll just watch all the vids on youtube because PlayStation will be posting them all on there anyway
Still don't know why they could have done the Paris show at PSX instead.
Funny seeing Kinda Funny not getting the special treatment anymore since they ditched PS I Love, though podcast beyond isn't a better alternative considering those that do the show now don't anywhere near the PlayStation love that Colin and Greg had.
Also 4AM????!!!!
Get stuffed, Sony.
My staff night out is the 8th, so ill just stumble in drunk and watch it me thinks!
Ah just like every event ill read it a day later.
Argh I am away that weekend with no net access. DAMMIT. I would totally have gotten up for this.
Meh. I'll catch up over the weekend. Hopefully we'll finally get some release windows/dates for some of the games they announced far too early.
I would love a conference, even without new announcements, only with trailers and updates of the main games that are coming. Many folks would complain though.
Looks like we will not have a Spyro trilogy remastered after all, I was expecting that.
forget.coffee, give me my Tropicana Orange juice and I'm good word up son😂
Forget coffee, move to America! Actually, don't, we don't need anymore whiney butts
The timing is unfortunate from a global point of view, but what you gonna do?
Yawn. If there's no proper conference then you're not getting me out of bed at 4am with anything less than a sausage and egg McMuffin and a mug of coffee the size of an adolescent rhino.
That’s late for people in the States east of the Pacific time zone.
I'll catch up the next day it's not really a problem. My all-nighters are far behind me haha. It would be nice if they timed things so the European audience could watch them too - especially in the case of E3 - but we did a particularly jam-packed Paris Games Week presentation this year.
@adf86 Agreed. I think they'd be better off losing Paris and saving this for end of year blowout. It's their own event and wouldn't share column space with other manufacturers games.
I wonder if they wanted a strong showing at Paris this year as it coincided with the X1X launch?
I'll be there guys
Eh, can't really catch it this year. I'm superbusy the next couple of days 😭
Won't be watching not expecting much and why don't they ever stream there shows live through PS4
@get2sammyb Midnight in Europe, 3pm PT, and 8am in Japan. Sounds way more reasonable to be honest!
I can wake up at five, but is it worth it? Do we know if there will be a full press conference? Or is it 15 minutes of old trailers and nothing more?
I suppose they can't announce any new games until they announce the PS5, b/c with all the PS4 games currently scheduled that could take us up to the end.
Though of course PS4 will still be getting multiplayer and annual sports games for years to come yet. I mean big new announcements of AAA type games.
Whatever happened to Death Stranding though?
That Uncharted panel would be awesome to be at, not sure about watching it though. Dreams owes us a beta demo already, save the making of stuff until after the game releases. IGN sounds like a podcast. Ghosts could be interesting.
Not sure about my plans that eeekend, we'll see.
For a second I thought this was everything that was happening at PSX lol, was super unimpressed.
I'd be all over the Ghost of Tsushima panel.
I would watch the uncharted panel and call it a day.
Nope! I'll catch up with any highlights the following morning.
Good thing it’s the weekend, I guess!
Those Uncharted and Last of Us 2 panels are the ones that interest me most here.
@FooYooChingDong Sorry mate Europe is way better.
The way my Sleep pattern is at the moment, I could well still be up at 4am to watch it. I am not expecting much but it would be great to actually get some idea as to when we can expect to get these games. I do prefer to know dates only when they are 99% certain that those dates are achievable but I don't want to keep seeing the same games year on year either.
Anyway, lets see what Sony have to share and hopefully a clearer indication of their release schedule for the new year.
@rjejr Death Stranding has only had a year and a half of development at most so it's still a fair while yet.
