That’s it, then: all of the holiday blockbusters are out and Thanksgiving awaits. Of course, it’s not the end of the PlayStation 4’s year by any stretch of the imagination – there are still dozens of titles to be released before 2018 arrives – but it does mean you can probably breathe a little bit and catch up on all of the titles you’ve bought, only to leave in their shrink wrap.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is slowly revealing itself as The Game That Never Ends, so having thought I’d finished it last week, I’m going to attempt to actually finish it this week. The problem is I’m kinda hooked on Skyrim since restarting it with PlayStation VR. Dangerous!

After finding my spot on the extremely crowded moral high ground by not buying Battlefront 2, I’ve got time to work on my backlog this weekend. Top of the list this week is Assassins Creed Origins – which I have to say I’m enjoying a hell of a lot – and perennial favourite SMITE.

I'll be playing Far From Noise as I'm in the midst of reviewing it, and then maybe sneaking some Rainbow Six: Siege in here and there. Then my Steam backlog is starting to build up again, so I might try and whittle away at that again.

I'm going to be continuing my slow but steady progress through Wolfenstein: The New Order this weekend, but my primary goal is to play through something a shade lighter. Of course, I'm referring to the colourful 3D platformer de Blob, which I'll be hopping and bopping through to bring you the Push Square verdict.

Besides the usual Call of Duty: WWII and Super Mario Odyssey, I will be checking out Moira in Overwatch and getting a bit further in Super Mario RPG this weekend.
What titles are on your gaming docket this weekend, then? You know the drill by now: let us know in the comments section below.

I'm going to spend the weekend packing things; monday I'll leave home because of my work... It would be a good excuse to buy me a Switch or even a SNES mini.
Horizon Zero Dawn, and maybe a bit of Uncharted Lost Legacy, I still need to finish that game(!!)
Another weekend on the Switch for me with Mario + Rabbids (I got a Ubisoft game!!), Cat Quest, Golfstory, Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart!
@kyleforrester87 Not a Ubisoft fan?
Dark Souls II, as follows:
1. Post game clean-up
2. DLC
3. Hit up a guide to see how many more playthroughs I need for the platinum.
4. Weep
I'm really enjoying The Sims 4. It has flaws when compared to the third but it also improves on a bunch of stuff. Plus it seems to have got off lightly compared to the other EA release this week, lol.
Other than that I still have a few areas to work my way through in AC Origins and I couldn't resist ordering Outcast: Second Contact yesterday. I'm really looking forward to Amazon delivering that today because even though I only played the demo of the original release, and at a terrible framerate, I loved what I played and cursed my PC for ages because it couldn't run it properly.
PS4: GTA V
PSVR: Skyrim VR
PSVita: Ys Memories of Celcetta
Nintendo Switch: Super Mario Odyssey
Apart from games in the weekly rotation I will also be playing GTA V (yes I'm the one guy that hasn't played this game yet) & Skyrim VR- which hopefully be downloaded by the the time I finish work.
@b1ackjack_ps The Force Unleashed wasn’t so bad. At least there wasn’t any microtransactions 😉. Okay, sorry, I couldn’t resist.
As for me, I’m working on Shadow of Mordor, which I like pretty well, but sure do die a lot. And the lack of very predictable auto save made me lose like an hours worth of progress last night, which I’m not too happy about. Other than that my biggest complaint so far is the dreary and bland world, which is just the way Mordor is, I guess, and can’t be helped.
Zelda Skyward Sword for me
@get2sammyb I know I feel dirty. PS4 has been gathering dust for a few weeks now and I'm buying Ubisoft games. I'll be spotted at a Pro EA rally soon, just you wait and see. Somebody organise me an intervention!!
@Gatatog is that Sims on PS4? Is it out already? I fancy getting it for Christmas.
@Fight_Teza_Fight There’s two of us that haven’t played GTA V (and evidently I’ll be the last of the Mohicans after this weekend)
I still wanna finish Cuphead so I'm hoping to get some time to hopefully do that either tonight or tomorrow. Also got my SNES mini through this morning and have already added my own classics to it (God bless you, DKC2).
As for the PlayStation side of things, I booted up Hellblade for the first time the other night and was instantly hooked so I'll have to jump back into that incredible world sometime soon as well. 3D Headphones and all.
I bought Dishonored Definitive Edition in the sale and I'm loving it all over again. The series is so underappreciated. I'll also be mixing in some Yakuza 0, continuing to up my empire progression rank in Elite Dangerous and also asking everybody I meet what they think of Trevor my cockroach in Broken Sword 5 on the trusty ol' Vita.
Not playing video games much this week, only mario odyssey on switch and knack 2 on ps4.
@kyleforrester87 My ps4 is drowned in backlog, I just upgraded my hdd to 2tb because my 1tb hdd is full, and I still have games that have not been installed yet, how can your ps4 is collecting dust lol
@Th3solution I've had it in my backlog for years. Bought it for both PS3 & PS4, just never got around to it.
It's awesome. Lamar might be one of the best sidekicks ever... .
@wiiware not for lack of games, more lack of time!
Mario Odyssey.
I was hoping to have finished Uncharted 4 by now but I'm currently recuperating on the sofa after badly twisting my knee. It will apparently take 4 weeks to heal but hopefully I'll be able to move around properly and be back in my man-cave long before then!
Anyhoo, I'm spending another weekend focusing on handheld titles. I'm on the chapter 5 trial in Danganronpa V3 so starting to near the end. It's getting very interesting. At this point I honestly don't know what's what and I'm usually good at guessing things.
@ApostateMage Dishonored is awesome, eh. One of my last-gen favourites. I thought Dishonored 2 was even better. Shame they're so underappreciated!
PS4 - Assassin's Creed Origins
Switch - Super Mario Odyssey
South Park the Stick of Truth, FFXV Comrades, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue: Dream Drop Distance HD, Resident Evil 6 (got that on XB1) i'm working on my backlog but i'll probably have a mess around on Overwatch at some point too
Still on Mad Max. This is a really good game. Under rated.
@kyleforrester87 Yeah, the console version of Sims 4 released this week.
@YummyHappyPills I would just go buy it from a shop now and get my refund from amazon
@Gatatog Sweet looking forward to the PS review....
@YummyHappyPills Yeah it's frustrating seeing the "delivered" tracking status when your doormat says otherwise 🤷♂️
HZD: The Frozen Wilds ! & Battlefront 2 campaign .
All this talk about Skyrim inspired me to go modding and push my new rig to transform it into something new. Finally got our third fireteam member in destiny 2, so going to run some nightfall practice since we've never done it before.
Pokemon Ultra Sun, Mario Odyssey and FFXV Comrades.
Well I was going to be playing Battlefront 2, but there's no way in hell that I'm buying that.
So with that in mind I started playing The Last of Us again, and I'm very happy I did.
I bought a rental copy of Battlefront II from Redbox so EA doesn't see profit from me, but I still get to play! As a Star Wars superfan, I absolutely love it. It's a shame EA marred it with those damn microtransactions. Other than that, I'll keep picking away at DOOM and Breath of the Wild on Switch.
la noire
@YummyHappyPills Being a postie myself,I had a customer complaint this week saying the person covering my job had left two packets for them on the doorstep...but both packets were for the right number but a different road...idiots.So forget asking the neighbours for your packet, try going into the next street!Hope it turns up
So I'm off this week so hopefully I'll get extra gaming time in but who knows.
For the Ps4 I'll be continuing Lego Undercover,Cat Quest And obviously Spending time with Aloy.
On the Psvr I have two trophys left for the Invisible Hours to get which is driving me nuts.
And on the Switch I'll be spending more time with Mario and Pickzel Lines
PS4- Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, and Uncharted Lost Legacy.
Switch- Super Mario Odyssey, and some Neo Geo games.
Odyssey and Splatoon 2. Maybe a bit of Splatfest till I get bored cause ranked is my thing.
Still debating if I should start Horizon or KH2.
Horizon Zero Dawn on ultra hard. Twill not beat me.
@kyleforrester87 So many games, so little time
Frozen wilds. I'm actually playing the side missions and errands along with the main quests this time. I rushed through hzd by only doing the main quests and had to beat the final boss at level 27... Hours of frustration...
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Horizon Zero Dawn Frozen Wilds are the main games I'll be playing this weekend. There should be enough time for a little bit of Etrian Odyssey V or the old Tomb Raider 3 as well.
Nothing yet, but I'm hoping to at least get back to playing God of War II HD (PS3), it's been like a month almost since I played it.
I'm trying to catch up on the series in time for God of War PS4.
Sup my chubby friends, I finally finished Prey and the game is really amazing, also finished Guardians of the Galaxy by Telltale and I really liked as well.
Now I don't know if I will start The Frozen Wilds or Wolfenstein 2. Decisions, decisions.
Still playing Super Mario Odyssey on Switch, all the games mentioned above are for PS4.
I'm thinking FF9 mostly, while trying to get through KH Chain of Memories.
Still on HZD Frozen Dangling Bits, so want to get a way into that. Some Mario and maybe treat myself to Skyrim tomorrow. The question is VR or Switch?
Finished FFIX, so rotating between Prey, Overwatch, and hopefully Skyrim VR.
@Rudy_Manchego I'm not ready for another round of Skyrim but both VR versions and Switch are very intriguing to me. I don't have a VR but thinking of jumping on the band wagon in Spring. I simply can't buy this game two more times as that'll be 5 purchases of the same game all told so.. I wonder which I'll go for.
Unless I can get them both dirt cheap, I guess..
Picked up CoD: WW2 during the weekend and have been enjoyed playing a WW2 game again, MP has been really fun so I’ll continue that on Sunday night, it’ll be that and AC: Origins and BF: 1 on rotation for the next few weeks
Cleaning up AC: Origins for the platinum trophy, and back onto Battlefront 2, as I've been playing that all week.
I rented Shadow of Mordor, so I'll be playing that before I get in to work. Maybe Warframe with my brother.
I have Fire Emblem Warriors on my Switch as well when I return Shadow of Mordor at work.
@KingdomHeartsFan Why thanks, good sir. To tell you the truth, I'm kinda meh Chain of Memories so far, but KH1, 2, and BBS are some of my favorites, and I had a good time with 358/2 on DS.
Still trying to finish Horizon Zero Dawn. I've never played an RPG game so it's not easy. Can't play for too long like I do other games.
Im jealous of everyone above with the greatest gift of all; time.
This weekend I will get an hour on Horizon if Im lucky. Roll on Tuesday night for the raid with the pushsquare twits.
Just Dance 2018, now that I've played a fair share of it I can say that the tracklist is great and the features are great. It may just be the altogether best Just Dance game of them all.
Well i am playing Battefront2 mostly. Enjping the multiplayer but im hearing disappointing thing from friends about the Single player story. About to jump in and see for myself now. If it stinks ill go back to The Frozen Wilds. Horizon's dlc certainly did not disappoint!
@b1ackjack_ps i enjoyed the story in TFU. It was my very first platinum trophy!
@oatmealwarrior92 Me too!
@sinalefa Horizon
Salt & Sanctuary is finally conquered, so now on to Jotun!
GTA V and maybe some Witcher 3 Blood and Wine
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap (Switch)
SOMA (PC)
Bastion (PC)
First one is pretty decent on its own terms, but becomes a hundred times more impressive when you consider how old the source material is (1989! Five years before even Super Metroid!)
SOMA is decent, but is more of a sci-fi puzzler than a horror game (which is OK, because games with run and hide gameplay of any sort make my stomach churn).
Bastion is pretty and interesting, but the vocal narration quickly wore thin for me.
@kyleforrester87 Don't feel bad. I've bought maybe... three Ubisoft games in my life that weren't part of a humble bundle or discounted down to a dollar on Steam, and I think Mario + Rabbids is one of the best releases this year. Tons of secrets to find, fun XCOM-esque gameplay, a gorgeous visual style, and a great difficulty curve.
@DerMeister Is this the first time you played CoM? I hated my first playthrough, but replaying it I've really come to appreciate it.
@Ralizah I'm tempted by Wonder Boy. It's currently 30% off on the UK eShop. Was going to make Zelda my next Switch purchase, but Nintendo hardly ever have sales, so I might pick up Wonder Boy with the discount (<£13).
@Fight_Teza_Fight Just keep in mind it's a pretty short game. 5 to 6 hours if you don't grind for money.
Still, I'm enjoying it.
@kyleforrester87 The thing is that this is the kind of game I want to try on VR but I can't imagine spending hundreds of hours on VR whereas on the switch I can play it around the house. Never played it so want to give it a try. First World problems.
@Ralizah I figured it would be a short game. Glad your enjoying it. I really like the art style and never played Wonder Boy before, so I think I'll pick it up.
Cheaper on PS, but it would've been money that went to RiME anyways.
Battlefront 2 and loving it.
What was all the fuss about?
Since I canceled my Battlefront2 preorder, the money went straight to SkyrimVR. Never played it before and only knew the trailers. And what should I say, on my first attempt I played for six hours straight, paused to eat and then dived in for another five hours.
It is amazing! Never been in such an immersive environment and for me the perfect example of Virtual Reality in its truest sense of the word.

This reviewer didn't think much of Skyrim VR, although to be fair most of what I read has seemed positive. But I think, in VR, I'm less likely to play the game as I would on a "normal" console and instead just spend time walking around enjoying the view.
@Kidfried Glad you're still enjoying MGS5. I wouldn't say it gets worse, it just doesn't change up much, so you might find it tiresome. But then again you might totally not..!
Agree regarding Skyrim VR. Unless it's your first go through the world I feel there's a strong chance you'd just do some virtual sight seeing then put it back on the shelf..
The Witcher Wild Hunt complete edition and loving it! I don't know why I waited so long to play this game!
@Fight_Teza_Fight Well, in my opinion, Wonder Boy is a stronger portable experience anyway. It's simple and easy to play in small bursts and saves all of your progress when you die or quit the game.
@Fight_Teza_Fight It is my first time with CoM, yes. I probably will like it more either as I play or a future replay, as my first run is almost never absolute when it comes to my opinion on games. Right now though, it feels kinda clunky, but the card battle idea is pretty good on paper.
Pokemon Gold and Rocket League this weekend. Also got a bit of Splatoon 2 in for the Splatfest
@sinalefa The Fantasy nerds owned me on Friday. Sad! One battle had me battling another Science fiction team (we all win?). Odyssey's post-game content sets a new standard for Nintendo.
@legalstep
I lost too but I uploaded a nice video capture to Twitter (managed to kill the whole team one by one in the last 15 seconds of one match) so I feel good.
@3Above @KingdomHeartsFan thanks for the suggestions.
@DerMeister
CoM is a weird beast. I started it hating it but then I learned the card system and the sleights, which are a MUST particularly during boss fights. By the end I was loving the system. @Fight_Teza_Fight helped me quite a lot to stay focused till the end.
