He hit a homerun with his very first at bat and is a hero among New York Yankees fans, so it’s no surprise to see Aaron Judge front up MLB The Show 18 – even if someone from World Series incumbents the Houston Astros may have been a more appropriate fit. Set to release on 27th March, Judge will appear on the cover of all copies of the baseball simulation – except in Canada, where Marcus Stroman will steal the honours.
Rather than actually reveal the game, Sony’s bizarrely taken the tact of outlining all of the pre-order offers, and there’s a lot to get through so let’s get started. So if you pre-order the game you’ll get 10 Standard Card Packs and one Legends Card pack for free. Head to GameStop and you’ll get an additional five Standard Card Packs, or go on the PlayStation Store and you’ll get 5,000 Stubs and an exclusive Aaron Judge Rookie Flashback Card you can use right now in MLB The Show 17.
Keeping up? Good. If you pre-order at GameStop or the PlayStation Store, you’ll get access to the game four days early, on 23rd March. There’ll also be an All Rise Edition that comes with an exclusive New Era Snapback and a bunch of in-game goodies, while the PlayStation Store Digital Deluxe edition will also come with bonus content – both for $99.99. Alternatively, the MVP Edition comes with a steelbook and some in-game extras for the slightly more affordable $79.99.
You can find out much more on the PlayStation Blog. Next time, though, we’d rather see the game as opposed to a bunch of pre-order bonuses.

As I said before I got 17 this year, and I am not one of those people that have to get a sports title every year just cause of roster changes.
word up son.New York represent.worddddd uppppppp
I buy the game every year and I'm sure next year's version will be good, but I agree, gameplay over pre-order bonuses anytime at a reveal.
I'm a Yankee fan so it's cool to see a Yankee on the cover of a baseball game again. I think the last two Yankees to grace the cover of an MLB game were Derek Jeter and Jason Giambi. So in just one year this guy has made quite an impact. Expectations for Judge will be huge in 2018, hopefully he avoids the sophomore slump.
@Gamer83 As a life long Met fan, I'm OK w/ Judge on the cover. He probably could have had 65 HR this year had he skipped the HR Derby - they'll never learn (David Wright is probably still regretting it.) . And the All Rise edition was a nice touch, even if probably half the people wont' get it. Well maybe most people getting the game will as that's mostly baseball fans.
I kind of agree w/ the article though, Altuve would have been nice, a short little tough guy w/ spunk and a sense of humour as showcased on SNL. But you can't disagree w/ Judge making it, he was a big part of baseball this year, even all of the Yankee haters have to acknowledge that.

I thought about getting the game this year but there was so much else to play that I don't think I would have found time for a whole baseball season or parts of a few. I may get 18 but it looks like next year may have even more games to fit in. As an Astros fan, I wish Altuve could be on the cover!
Damn, jaw made outta stone.
I think I'll get '18. My Brewers might be considered a .500 team next year.
@rjejr
Altuve would've been a good candidate for the cover also. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he or Carlos Correa get a cover spot in the very near future.
@Gamer83 Yeah, this Houston team may stick around for awhile. Maybe even long enough for me to get used to them being in the American League. My '86 nemesis playing my '88 nemesis in the WS was kind of weird.
Not as weird as the Rangers playing the Vegas Golden Knights the other night. Feels like half of the NHL teams weren't around last time they won the cup in '94. I'm so old.
@rjejr
I'm used to the Astros in the AL now, but I still keep forgetting the NHL has a team in Vegas.
