Would you turn that radio down, we’re trying to tell you about a Jet Set Radio pitch that SEGA passed on. Over the course of the weekend, Austin-based developer Dinosaur Games has revealed a “visual proof of concept” for a title named Jet Set Radio Evo, which it pitched to the Japanese publisher at the Game Developers Conference earlier in the year.
“This was the first step towards a gameplay demo,” according to the studio. “If SEGA was interested we were going to invest in making a functioning prototype.” While it never got any feedback on why the Sonic maker declined, Sony apparently “loved” the look of the project, which is interesting. You can watch the concept (of love) trailer above.

Sony, please make this happen! A new JSR would be awesome if it happened this gen.
i hope they bring this back JSR games so cool
WTF Sega!?!? You expressed over a year ago, which popular franchises fans wanted brought back. If I recall correctly, this was definitely one of them.
If people want their JSR fix, then Hover: Revolt of Gamers looks pretty cool, was at PSX recently.
Jet Set Radio, another game that i still need to play, looks like that many people enjoy the series a lot. One day, i will play Jet Set Radio and Dreams on my PS3, would be even better if it was available on PS4 as well.
@DerMeister Gio Corsi always listens to Sony gamers, i believe that he is one of the main responsibles for Yakuza games coming to the west. People could start another campaign, who knows.
@PS_Nation JSR future is the best of the games, they are amazing looking and sounding. Yet extremely irritating to play later in the games falling from height means having to repeat platform sections again and again. Annoys me even thinking about it.
But would i buy another jsr? Damn right I would.
@PS_Nation However it happens, I'd love to see a new game in the series, or at least a rerelease of Jet Set Radio Future (originally released on Xbox, died a sales death and is now rare and pricey). I know it's unlikely, but it would make me so happy. I refuse to die until JSR comes back.
As for playing the original game, I love it to death, but be aware the control has not aged well. You can get used to it, but it's still pretty stiff. It has a lot of charm though, and I think everyone should try it once.
Eventhough I wasn't able to complete it back then, it's still one of my Dreamcast favourites!
JSR is a series that unfortunately mostly passed me by. I did play a little of the Xbox version (Jet Set Radio Future, I believe) and had a good time with it. I'd love to play a brand new one, though!
Well...at least Sony understands the concept of love. 🎶
I feel like you're all ignoring the possibility that Sega is already working on a new Jet Set, and simply have no need for something like this.
I'd truly love for something like this to happen, but Sega have a nasty habit of stamping out my dreams so I'll try not to get ahead of myself!
This gives me hope.
As much as I would love a new JSR, Sega made the right choice. The studio appears to have very little experience in regards to actual game development and mainly just does art design stuff. (http://www.dinosaurentertainment.com/)
This seems to mainly be a ploy to attract attention to themselves to get more work by riding the coattails of a cult classic series.
This would have been a nice addition...Sega needs to bring back their IP's...I'd love for a new Skies Of Arcadia, Evolution, Seaman (for the VR), Toe Jam And Earl, Golden Axe, Ristar, Columns, Altered Beast, Greendog and Panzer Dragoon title to make it's way forward. Maybe we'll at least get a Dreamcast, Genesis, and Game Gear collection...but I'm sure my hopes will fade away.
@Bliquid perhaps, but... it's definitely well within the realm of possibility
