A very good set of characters this week. I thought J&D would be giving Lara more competition than this so far - but I know that it’s still early and the votes may swing yet to make it closer. I chose Croft anyways.

I voted Jak, Gex, Joel and Sly.

How Lara is whupping Jak right now I don't know.
No particularly fondness for Gex but Niko is rubbish so...

wow Ryu vs Sly that was a tough one.

Lara, Gex, Joel and Sly. The only tough one was the last one but Sly is more representative of PS than Ryu.

Don't think I would've voted for Lara Croft if it wasn't for the reboot version.

I wanted to vote Alduin, but unfortunately he was a pretty boring character. Joel was really generic too (honestly, The Last of Us in general was generic), but at least he had some sort of a personality.

I found Nico the most boring GTA character ever plus it was Xbox Xclusive so for me this cant be a serious PlayStation character.

Tight contests between Gex vs. Niko and Sly vs. Ryu. All knotted at 50%.

Sly loses we riot. Well, I'll riot anyway.

Niko and Gex are surprisingly close. I actually liked Niko, so I'll pull for him.

Joel was cool until the end of his game. Alduin don't stand a chance though.

Jak V Lara was pretty tough for me. I ended up picking Jak from a coin flip. Clearly not hard for everyone else, since Lara's stomping him by 40 percent.

@PS_Nation I feel your pain. Rise of the tomb raider was definately a low blow to the people that made her famous. But when I think Playstation brand and character development I feel like Lara was a bigger more enjoyable part of my life than Jak.

That being said hard to feel bad about losing to Lara Croft.

@PS_Nation Pretty much, yeah. Grizzled, grumpy older guy with a dark past who teams up with a young girl and slowly begins to show his softer side?

And the plot itself, and most of the plot points within? It didn't exactly blow me away with its originality. I've seen it all before.

It's a great game, and I loved how they portrayed the story and made the characters have shades of gray rather than be fully good or evil, but I've definitely seen many elements of it before.

Can I just congratulate Push Square on coming up with such a fun competition, it's really fun to consider some of these individual contests. Another way of celebrating gaming instead of all the negative content you find from other similar sized sites on N4G.

Jak & Daxter v Lara was a properly tough decision for me and made me really reminisce about my PS1 days, in the end I plumped for Lara, but it was damn close.

I am gonna say it now, I dont see anyone beating Joel personally.......my man-crush 🤣

How is Ryu loosing to Sly?

@Frank90 Furry mascots in platformers seem to do pretty well, and all the Sly games are on PlayStation. Plus, as badass as Ryu is, he doesn't really have much of a personality.
