With publisher Deep Silver involved and a year of development still to go, expectations for Shenmue III have been raised. The good news is that Ys Net has been able to recruit some external support, with Lakshya Digital being brought on board to render the various non-playable characters that you’ll encounter around the world. If you’ve ever played the series before, you’ll know that believable sandboxes are a big part of its appeal, so the outsourced art should help to make Guilin feel alive.
In order to sate rabid demand, the developer’s also released artwork of a new character. “You'll have to wait and see how she fits in with the temple in the background,” the Kickstarter update reads. While the model does look like it belongs in a PSone CG intro sequence, we’re eager to see how she fits into the plot.

I'm sure the art style is intentional but for many I think this will just look dated, in comparison to what we're spoiled with regularly now.
Are Shenmue 1&2 available to play on a PlayStation console? I'd love to get into this series, ready for when 3 releases, but I won't have access to a Dreamcast and Xbox and I don't like emulators.

Apparently Sega is too dumb to get remasters done. It is like the only remaster I want.
Would be all over a HD port/remake of Shenmue 1 and 2. Just makes sense. Come on SEGA, take my money.
Feel like this game kinda floats under the radar somewhat. Maybe because it's a Kickstarter game and has a limited budget but I cannot wait.
Personally I think a Shenmue remaster is inevitable, but it'll probably appear a bit closer to the third game's launch. Think I remember seeing a quote from an exec from Sega saying that they were looking into it.
I can't argue against the importance of Shenmue I & II when they originally released on the Dreamcast. But will a simple HD port make the games justice at this point? I mean, they were great games back then, but have they aged well enough? The genre has evolved so much since then. But I'm part of that "niche" audience and would buy the remasters day one, anyway.
