WAYP is a little late as we catch up on some of the headlines from PSX 2017, but we’re continuing our record of never missing a week with a bumper edition of our recurring Talking Point today. There’s no time for long introductions as there’s much work to do, but you all know the drill by now.

It’s a low-key PlayStation Experience this year but it still seems like there’s going to be enough going on to keep me occupied all weekend. My only hope is that I have enough free time to play a few hours of the Monster Hunter: World beta, which is currently one of my most anticipated games.

If all goes to plan I'll be running through some of Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris with friends. It's safe to say that I don't think much of the expansion, but as always, Bungie's shooter is at its best when you're teamed up and popping heads with others. Oh, and obviously I'll be absolutely hammering the Monster Hunter: World beta. Can't wait to finally have a go.

With the Monster Hunter: World beta going live over the weekend, I’ll be making sure to check out this promising new entry in the long-running series as soon as it goes live on Saturday. I always thought Monster Hunter’s been held back from wider popularity in the past, due to the fiddly controls found in the plethora of handhelds entries over the years. So, you’ll find me taking a break from my daily dose of SMITE, and Rainbow Six: Siege, in order to swing massive swords at all manner of beasties this weekend.

Powered through Wolfenstein II this week and somehow managed to complete the campaign before my deadlines. It’s a super fun and super messy FPS that doesn’t take itself too seriously; I loved it. Alongside that, I finished Episode 3 of Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within this week which was long overdue. Selina and Bruce are my modern day muse (so eat your heart out Shakespeare). I’ll keep shippin’ those two ‘til the day I die I swear.

I've almost caught up on my Steam backlog with just one more title between myself and Gorogoa when it launches next week. And I grabbed the new Life Is Strange on my PS4 from the Game Awards sale, so I'll have plenty on my plate for the coming days

I'm going to give Call of Duty: WWII a go this weekend with its Winter Siege content. Four new weapons and a reworked map for free? That ain't half bad. And since I'm unexpectedly snowed in, I'm going to chill a bit by finishing Night in the Woods and finally getting to my Kickstarter copy of Yooka-Laylee. Yeah, I take my time with these things.

I've finally gotten around to playing Yakuza Kiwami thanks to the current lull in game releases. Besides that, I'll be finishing off Gears of War 4 on the err... Other console! [Traitor! – Ed]

I should have a pretty packed weekend, what with playing LocoRoco 2 Remastered for review and the Monster Hunter: World beta test going live later today. I'm also still steadily playing through the tranquil farming sim Stardew Valley, which I've really taken to. I'm a little late to the party, but at least now I can appreciate why everyone fell in love with it last year.

With the Winter Siege event going on in Call of Duty: WWII I will be busy with that all weekend. Maybe if I have time I might squeeze in some Chrono Trigger on the SNES.

Monster Hunter World, just like every other sane person on this website.
I'm playing the worst game ever....weekend work rotation. So the only thing for me is hunting a few of the new Pokemon in PGO. But I have Monday through Wednesday off and will hopefully finish the plat for both Yooka-Laylee and Guardians of the Galaxy Telltale and then begin a fresh play of Bayonetta 1 on PS3 and maybe a little KH1.5
I recently restarted playing GTA 4 again, so I'll play lots more of that. Also gonna continue with Pokemon Ultra Sun and Etrian Odyssey V.
The Monster Hunter World beta is tempting, but I'll just wait until the full game releases. There wasn't any multiplayer games I was planning on playing this month, so I can't justify buying a month of PS+ for just 3 days of hunting monsters.
I was gonna play some Monster Hunter. First I have to review so I can do well on finals. The end of the semester is always so difficult.
MHW later today!
I may jump into Destiny 2 - still not started the Curse of Osiris but that should take an hour or two (per Character) but as Xur has one of the new Exotics, I may have to pick that up. Otherwise I will probably be playing Assassins Creed: Origins. Not sure how far I am away from the 'end' of the main campaign but I still have a lot of the Map to reveal, a lot of '?'s and Side Quests to complete and already spent nearly 50hrs on the game.
I need to check out that MH World. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Street Fighter V, King of Fighters14, and Tekken 7 on PS4.
Monster Hunter World demo of course. If I have anymore time after playing the heck out of that demo I'll continue playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
I've gone back to The Witcher 3, but on PC.
@KratosMD Yakuza 0 is number 1 for me <3
Besides jumping into the MH World beta for a bit I'm continuing my Elex playthrough, carrying on with my replay of the first Evil Within (memory refresh before starting the sequel) and probably starting Dead Rising 4.
Im in a pickle. Finished chess to a comfortable point, lara croft go is done and hate nidghogg or whatever its called (overrated tosh). So all the games I bought in the sale are completed.
I have no backlog apart from finishing persona 5 and puyo tetris which is best played in bits. Weird.
Away so a little switch and Mario for me.
Wasted the day away chasing down a package (VR Aim Controller), now I'm stuck at work.
The little time I have left this weekend I'll probably spend with Farpoint & Zelda.
Still playing The Frozen Wilds and loving it.
Still plugging away at Trails in the Sky SC, feels like I’m really nearing the finale at last I’ll be checking out the Winter event in CoD as well on Sunday eve
I'll be doing some Tekken in my never-ending quest for Brawler rank, as well as some Tomb Raider, then some God o' War on PS3.
Monster Hunter: World Beta 👌🏾
Just finished Horizon about an hour ago, now furiously debating with myself if I should get the Frozen Wilds DLC
new ps4 battlestar galatica sim sniper elite 4
Farpoint pvp mode
Doom vfr
Playin horizon zd, monhun world beta (tomorrow), wonderboy dragon's trap, and blaster master zero (area 9).
@themcnoisy No backlog? You’re my hero.
Mine could sink an aircraft carrier.
As for me this weekend, I’m playing NieR Automata and I’ll pull myself away from it long enough to experience some MHW beta too. However if it wasn’t a timed beta then I would just hack and slash robots all day with a blindfolded android.
AC Origins has it's hooks in me, so i'll be working on that and Wolfenstein 2 this weekend. Might pop in to BotW and check out the new DLC too.
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony on my Vita. I focus on Xenoblade 2 and Valkyria Chronicles during the week when I have more TV time.
I have been getting well into Wolfenstein 2,absolutely loving it just as much as the first game and its expansion.
I also started today Planet Of the Apes which I am enjoying a lot and very pleased that it's the one Playlink game that doesant stick its fingers up at gamers without a phone.
Now I'm off to try the Monster Hunter beta before "I'm a Celebrity get me out of here!"starts
I’m playing ICEY for the first time today. I’m really enjoying it other than some occasional frame rate issues (including freezes lasting a second or more) when the game is loading new areas or content. This is on a PS4 Pro, mind!
The game is very playful, and I’m having fun finding areas outside the narrative largely to see where the narration goes. It’s a classic 2D sidescroller with combos and a generous upgrade system. I highly recommend it, even though I’m only an hour in, at most.
It’s also a fairly quick / easy plat, but I wouldn’t know anything about that.
I'm thinking about picking up Hellblade since it's on sale. I still have a ton of games I want to get through, one being Assassin's Creed Origins. I haven't been able to play it much lately, and I really want to return to ancient Egypt, such a great game.
Just God of War on Vita this weekend
A Hat in Time, a bit of Jak X and some Warframe.
Liam Croft (mere joke)
“BETRAYAL!” (If you know who this infamous quote is from you get a Square Cookie; hint: it’s a YouTuber who was once great)
Was playing MH World Beta now I’m good
Now I’m playing Headache Vs Simulator in the IRL PC hope I win!
Just finished south park the fractured but whole. Moving on to the evil within 2 possibly wolfenstein the new colossus.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Witcher 3. About 15 hours thus far. Still not sure whether I'm enjoying it. I feel like most of the "game" is made up of cutscenes, with a lot of quest marker chasing and errand running in-between. And the combat isn't super satisfying or deep. I just don't know if I'll keep it up. It's impressive, but I'm not sure how much fun I'm having.
I guess I'll be check out MH like every other person on earth lol. Mainly be playing ass creed origins, I'm really liking it a lot. Trying to get high enough lvl to do current trial of the god.
@Gatatog how are u liking Elex?
The Dark Souls II second playthrough is well underway, almost half way through in fact, but my son got Lego Dimensions for his birthday the other day - there's no way I'm not having a go at that, it looks hilarious.
I'm playing the last chapters of the Nathan Drake's Predictable Cliffhangers Collection. After that, I'll wash my soul with a second playthrough of Dishonored 2.
I'm playing GT6 still, and RE7 very creepy game. I was terrified the other night being chased around the house in RE7.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for me, I haven't enjoyed a JRPG this much since FF9... unless you can consider Nier a JRPG.
Just about to tuck into the Zelda DLC...
Still into AC Origins (40 hrs, not yet finished the main story) which I love.
I have dropped Destiny 2 (what a massive let down, both the Vanilla and the first dlc) and got hooked again with some friend on The Division (that game is getting better and better).
At night I try to go on with Evil Within.
I moved house recently and finally get broadband installed tomorrow. First thing I'll be downloading is that Monster Hunter beta. For now I'll be playing more Yakuza 0.
Knocked out the 3 quests in MHW and called it a day. It's everything I wanted it to be but don't want to burn it out.
I'm going to pour so many hours into the main game...
Had a good old go on Monster Hunter World trying out the hammer weapon, good fun!
Mostly been working on the Zelda DLC. Got a couple more levels done in Wolfenstein 2, as well.
@LieutenantFatman I'm normally a Switch Axe guy but was really liking the Insect Glaive in the Beta.
@Splat It's very satisfying getting some solid head hits in isn't it? It's the first Monster Hunter game I've played, enjoying it so far, both solo and co-op.
@KratosMD I loved it! More than 90 hours with it (which is rare these days since I don't finish most games I play)
I'm still playing Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, hoping to beat it by next weekend.
After that, I'll jump back to E games with Ratchet & Clank.
Late cause I thought @get2sammyb would skip it because of PSX. Nice job!
I played the MHW beta witj friends. A lot funnier than I thought it would be and very streamlined item selection.
And the usual Isaac and maybe Splatoon 2.
