That new Tomb Raider movie is very much still on track for a 16th March release, so here’s Alicia Vikander in a vest doing her best English accent. This latest trailer reveals a little more about the plot, which appears to be sticking quite closely to the 2013 reboot. In fact, a handful of the set-pieces teased in the two minute clip are lifted directly from the game.
We’re still not sure about this one. Vikander is a great actress, but all of the sets look really low-budget and is anyone really interested in a big screen adaptation of a passable video game story at best? Maybe it’ll be good, but we’re not holding our breath yet.
Oh, and who thought it was a good idea to remix Destiny’s Child for the soundtrack?

I liked the game but I don't see myself going to see this. It makes me wonder how that Uncharted movie will turn out.
I think this looks good. Even my wife said that looks surprisingly not terrible and now wants to watch it.
But totally with Sammy. Destinys child are awful at the best of times, let alone the remix here
Actually it looks better than the first teaser which was very questionable. This actually makes it look like a legit movie, although the issue with the borrowing of the story from the game still exists, it definitely could be worse.
Sorry but I think this looks half-arsed. No chance of taking it seriously with that choice of song either.
People still buy Blu-rays?
@get2sammyb Yes! I like to buy my favorite movies and make a collection.
About this movie, do you guys still have hope for movies based on videogames?
@MadAussieBloke Correct, Blu frisbees. I don't mind streaming but there's nothing streaming that looks as good as a uhd disc. Not to mention the sound! Oh the sound. I didn't buy premium home theater speakers to listen to compressed 5.1 garbage.
@get2sammyb lol those who want/ appreciate the best consistent quality do, those who don't, stream. Steaming still hasn't matched or surpassed the Consistent Audio and Video quality of Blurays and UHD Blurays plus it's very easy to convert those movies on disc to a lossless digital file backup to watch on apps like kodi as your own personal "Netflix" with no buffering or fluctuations in Audio & Video quality.
It's probably going to be terrible but I went to the cinema to watch each live-action Resident Evil movie when they released and I got so swept up in the Street Fighter IV hype back in 2009 that I went to see the Chun-Li movie in the theater. 99% chance I go to see this as well since I'm a big fan of the games and really enjoy the rebooted take on it.
The cast is good and Lara is a great character so if they can nail that it will go a long way. However, I will agree that it looks awefully generic.
Dont like the music choice its kind of terrible.
The best bit was Lara's air Jordan off the ship.
People still watch movies? I can't remember the last time a good movie was released. I see by this trailer that trend will continue.
@get2sammyb yes because streaming can be patchy depending on your internet and not everyone has the money to blow on 4K equipment, it's still too expensive for the average consumer
so yes people STILL buy blu-rays AND DVD's
@Ryno Lady Bird is really good. I liked it anyway.
@Ryno Yes, movies are still made and sell alot of tickets XD.
I just saw Star Wars Last Jedi and plan to watch Thor and Justice League when they hit my cheap theatre.
