Following on from the last flash sale, Sony has brought another set of savings to the US PlayStation Store. Calling it the PlayStation Essentials sale, there are a lot of games big and small in the offer across PS4, PS3 and Vita. You're treated to savings of up to 50% (or 60%, if you're a PS Plus member).
Some PS4 highlights include Battlefield 1, Persona 5, and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, but there are some great smaller titles as well. What Remains of Edith Finch, Inside, and Overcooked are all discounted too.
The PS3 gets a very slim selection, but there are still some notable games on offer - Persona 5 is also reduced on the last gen platform, as are Grand Theft Auto V and Alien: Isolation.
For Vita owners, there are even less games to choose from; Zero Escape: The Nonary Games and Skullgirls 2nd Encore are probably top of the minuscule pile.
Whatever your platform, you have until 8am PT on 30th January to have a browse. You can find the full sale through here, but do come back and let us know if you're splashing out on anything.

no EU sale
@Anguspuss ...yet!
@Anguspuss This one is still going! https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2018/01/games_under_e20_sale_begins_on_eu_playstation_store
I'll pick up the Last Guardian.
I'm doing it this time!
I mean it.
@Constable_What Gotta prep for Shadow of the Colossus.
@Quintumply I haven't checked it on the PS store, but their website still lists the regular price for the digital games in the digital sale.
@Octane Not sure what you mean? Everything shows ok for me
Hmm. Own the ones I would want.
What's the discount on What Remains of Edith Finch? (I'm in the UK so only see it at full price). If it's a decent discount I'll keep an eye on the EU store as I'll definitely purchase it if the discount comes this way.
I want What Remains of Editth Finch and Hellblade, but I can't buy right now, I pre-ordered Shadow of the Colossus and Momster Hunter recently.
But it's a great sale.
It's hilarious what games make it to the "essentials" list. I mean Cluster Truck? REALLY!?
@sketchturner Cluster Truck is a good time, but yeah, not exactly essential
Nothing "essential" for me.
Maybe a couple I like but no rush. Essential, they keep discounting the same games.
@Constable_What 😂😫😠that's what i always tell myself
I bought Watch Dogs: Gold Edition (PS4), nothing else interested me.
@sinalefa
The same games at the same discount. I think I’ve seen Persona 5 discounted to $29.99 at least four times now.
@lacerz
You are right. Something like GTAV never drops below $35, maybe once I saw it at $30.
Finally went ahead and bought Hellblade, along with the 10% off code that was being offered, it was under $20. A steal at that price.
I bit the bullet and picked up the Battlefield 1 & Titanfall 2 Ultimate Bundle for a grand total of $35.99. I had Battlefield 1 at release but traded it in...I regretted that. I also heard that Titanfall 2 was incredible. Anyways for the price I figured I couldn't go wrong. CoD WW2 just didn't scratch that itch like BF1 did.
Also while not on sale I picked up Assassin's Creed Origins - The Hidden Ones DLC. I haven't really dove in to this game yet, but I know I'll love it. Just waiting for some good time off work to really get into it.
@Scorpio73
If you've liked any of the past Assassin's Creeds you should definitely have a great time with Origins. The overhauled combat system is super satisfying.
I got sometimes always monsters which is awesome and somehow flew right under my radar, pushsquare im lookin at you > lol.
And hellblade! MY GOODNESS! hellblade is SO much cooler than i realized! I thought it was full on action game. I love "walking sims" and as such love that hellblade is 2/3rds psychological thriller walking sim/puzzler and 1/3rd action combat which btw feels so good and weighty.
