Looks like the impending release of Monster Hunter: World and the opening of God of War pre-orders has temporarily pulled the PlayStation Network to its knees, as outages are being reported in some territories. Sony, to its credit, has already issued an update stating that engineers are on the case and working to resolve all issues.
To be fair to the platform holder, it’s been quite a while since we had to write one of these articles, as the service has surely stabilised a lot in recent years. We’ll update if the issues worsen, but we’re going to guess that all will be resolved swiftly. In the meantime, you can get status updates on PSN via Sony’s website.
Update: Things seem to be resolved, both on PSN and Push Square. Both down at the same time? Conspiracy?

I was lagging on Fortnite and my friends list and online status weren't even opening! Weird but seemed to be fixed 5 minutes later
I wish they would just sort out the UI, it's so so sluggish these days, it's pretty poor.
PSN is completely down here in Arizona. The outage reports in the SW US is nuts right now...
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Yeah, the Playstation Store is slow af on PS3 and freezes are VERY common..
@ReanSchwarzer7 Same for me; I'm also in AZ.
Couldnt post in my ps4 msg threads and then couldnt look up help from pushsquare.
In the words of Alan Hansen "thars a terrible combination".
Been experiencing some issues like slow loading on the XMB and friends names not showing up when I received messages from them since yesterday.
Push Square and PSN down at the same time?! I call sabotage from Microsoft after GoW trailer hit the net.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Yep. Even on my Pro the UI can be sluggish at times.
There was a pretty big PSN sale, at least here in North America, also. Fortunately I was able to buy and download Hellblade before things got bad. It was resolved fairly quickly at least.
@get2sammyb I know both CoD:WWII and Overwatch started events today wonder if maybe there was a flood of people all at one time.
@get2sammyb Although this particular instance seems to be a small and short lived issue, this is one of the biggest reason single player games should never stop being made. Network down? oh well game on! Uncharted games, Tomb Raider games, The last of us, God of War, Assassin's creed Origins ect... the list goes on.
