It was a frighteningly big week on the PlayStation 4 this time, with Monster Hunter: World, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Celeste all vying for your attention. It should make for an action-packed WAYP, so without further ado, let’s get into it.

I'm not playing Monster Hunter: World. Yet. Now will everyone stop peer pressuring me. (Must. Resist!)
Robert Ramsey, Deputy Editor
I only properly started Monster Hunter: World on Friday night, but I, er, may have stayed up until 4AM slaying monsters. I feel like I'm hopelessly addicted already, so no doubt I'll be absolutely hammering it this weekend.

Monster Hunter: World is staring at me from its shrink-wrapped box, but I’ve a review to do before I start smacking big bitey beasts around. I’ve got a little more Celeste to play through before I draw up my conclusion, and then I’ll get to Capcom’s monster-slaying epic.

Started Prey last night which I hope to complete by the end of the week. As I’m dedicating these next few months to playing games I missed out on over the year, my list has got pretty lengthy in return. Looks like my desire to play Monster Hunter: World will have to hold out just a little while longer, it seems.

I’m still playing catch-up on some of the games I missed from last year, particularly the ones that came up around Game of the Year. Next in line is NieR Automata, which comes very highly recommended by our lovely community, and one I’m ashamed to have not played yet. But, you know, 2017 was crazy. Better late than never, right?

With as much time as I have been playing both Call of Duty: WWII and Assassin's Creed Origins I feel that I should have a major in History by now. With that said that is what I will be playing this weekend as both games have me hooked.
What games are you playing this weekend, then? You know the drill; let us know in the comments section below.

Celeste! At first glance it doesn't look very special but it's exceeded my expectations and will probably be in my top 3 games of the year. I'm a real sucker for a quality pixel art indie.
Monster Hunter World. I wasted Friday night reading the manual and customising my character and exploring the town, so I really need to get started with actual hunting
In the unlikely event that I fancy a break from MH World, then I might play some GTA IV. I've caught up to where I was before I lost my save data, and I'm getting towards the end of the story. Or Etrian Odyssey V is an option, I've recently reached the 5th Stratum.
Monster Hunter World, Monster Hunter World and more Monster Hunter World.
PS4: Monster Hunter World, Dragon Ball FighterZ
PSVita: Digimon Story- HM
I'm addicted to Monster Hunter. So much so that I haven't even given DBFighterZ a look in yet. But, I'm going to make sure to hit that up.
Also will be watching the Royal Rumble, so might get the Vita out for that and continue Hacker's Memory.
Still on AC Origins aren't I.
FighterZ and The Division for me, which has definitely gotten better since I played it a year ago. I kinda wish they would've gotten the 1.8 update out before Destiny 2 launched, i probably wouldn't have bought it.
@ShogunRok Can you or have you started a clan yet?
I'm still cracking on with Zelda, have just got to my third divine beast, and I absolutely adore the game. The more I play it, the more hooked I get, so who knows how far I'm going to get with it this weekend!
@Gamer83 How are you finding it? If I remember correctly it's your first time with the series?
@KratosMD Alpha Sapphire is such a great remake. I enjoyed it a lot more than Y or Moon.
As for me lots more Nier Automata. I'm now on my second campaign. @Jake3103 I'm massively enjoying it. Hope you like it.
Basically done with Mario Odyssey (only the Dark and Darker Side left which I'm losing my motivation for) and mopping up legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Moon, so I can now focus on Explorers of Sky.
Cleaning and work. .but maybe Some mario
@Splat Hopefully I figure out how to do it today!
@get2sammyb
Pretty much the first time, I played a bit of Tri when it launched on the original Wii but never stuck with it. I figure now with the series returning to home consoles it's as good a time as any to give it another go. I'm not too far into the game so I can't give a real opinion. I do like what I've played though. Combat seems a bit 'clunky' compared to the more action-oriented games I'm used to playing but I think I'll adjust to it and once I do this seems like a game that could really hook me in.
Ratchet & Clank + Street Fighter V.
Maybe give Psycho-Pass: MH a go too. I never watched the anime but the style and setting appeal to me so I’ll look into it.
Persona 5. Gravity Rush 2. And, something else on whim probably.
Nothing but MHWorld for me this weekend. Been grinding big baddies all morning
I’m trying to break my personal record of playing nex machina for more than 20 mins without my thumbs falling off. I’ll probably prestige the new resistance division on cod ww2. I was also thinking of returning to farcry 4 and having a go at the fortresses 1 stealth and 1 go guns blazing.
@RedMageLanakyn Are there still folks playing The Division? Thought it would be rather empty now.
I'm debating between replaying The Last of Us on PS4 or playing more RPGs.
I haven't picked I p Monster Hunter World yet, but I plan to at some point. I'll also be playing Iconoclasts on my Vita. (Iconoclasts is so good you guys.)
@ShogunRok This should help. I didn't know how to do it either...
http://www.shacknews.com/article/103003/monster-hunter-world---how-to-play-co-op-with-friends
@ShogunRok do we need to apply or can you send out invites to the clan? I'm stuck at work this weekend so my play will be slightly dissatisfying for how much I want to dig into MHW. Just let me know
Ill be busy Hellzone Grenading fools on DB Fighterz
The big beasties of MH have got their claws in me and I don't think they're going to be letting me go anytime soon.
@stueyd67 There is, to the point that for the past few nights I've had to wait in a queue to get in. They've made quite a few significant changes to the endgame that make it worth jumping back into. The underground expansion pack is basically destiny 2's infinite forest done correctly; you basically customize your own dungeon and run it.
I can see how a lot of people, like myself and a few friends, have jumped from Destiny 2 to this, looking for a good squad based game with decent gunplay.
Monster Hunter and Fortnite BR!
Can you have like guilds in MH? Could we have a MH push guild?
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi imagine that game! Would be a total mess lol
One of the few that Isant playing Monster Hunter.Instead I'll be playing the hilarious South Park The Fractured But Whole,Danganronpa Another Episode and I Am Setsuna.
I have had a vita binge this week after finishing up killzone mercenaries so might move on to resistance next. For Ps4, going to continue Night In The Woods.
Monster Hunter. Duh.
@Rudy_Manchego I really really liked KZ Mercenaries.
Street Fighter V, DragonBall FighterZ, and Monster Hunter World for PS4. Resident Evil Revelations and Mario Rabbids Kingdom on Switch.
@NathanUC I had played a bit on my Pstv a while back but then just turned on the vita randomly, started playing and got hooked. It is great, just draw jopping on the vita.
I am biking and hiking for the next two weeks. So i have brought my vita along. Not willing to risk the switch on such a trip.
So i will continue chaos;child. The story getting good. Even though i am yet to complete chapter 1.
Binding of Isaac, the Evil Within 2 and Splatoon 2. Really need to get Celeste.
@vegeta11 @Splat My issue right now is that it says squad features are unavailable. Not sure if it's servers issues or whatever. As soon as I get it done I'll start inviting.
Want to start origins but need to finish something else first. Will be uncharted lost legacy, resident 7, and shadow of war. Maybe a little tell tell in between. Want to finish those all then start origins before GOW 4 20
The Witness. Cleared 3 areas so far, and am working on a fourth. I think I'm going to take a break, though, as I'm getting puzzle fatigue.
Thinking about playing one of the shorter games in my backlog soon.
@ShogunRok cool I won't be on a ton this weekend but I'll make sure I get up to level 6 to do the first part of the Alloy stuff since I work today and tomorrow again
I'm already hunting monsters and I'm going to hunt them until May 24th when the Sun will rise again!
MH: World and maybe a little Ratchet and Clank platinum trophy grind.
iconoclast on my Vita, what a wonderful surprise this game turned out to be. Hopefully get some MH World in too.
Celeste on Switch. It's a masterpiece of 2D platforming.
I will start Monster Hunter: World, first time ever that I will play this series.
Gonna continue playing through hidden ones expansion, taking my time with it seeing that it gonna be a little while until next dlc release.
Finally starting Witcher 3, don't know why I've had such a hard time getting into this. Seems like a really really awesome game.
Okami, playing to try and get plat and missed one enemy, fire doom mirror....so guess I'll start over...at least it's a fun game. 😑
It's a long weekend with the Plus games for me - Deus Ex, Batman, and Psycho Pass - as well as jumping in and out of Star Wars Battlefront 2.
Still on my backlog. Beat Borderlands 2 and going through the DLC with a possible 2nd playthrough. Next up, Yakuza 4.
Telltale Batman and Order 1886 . I am really liking both.
Played a little bit of Zelda BOTW until Monster Hunter World arrived yesterday. Been playing that ever since. Haven't even started Dragon Ball FighterZ yet.
AC Origins and I'm trying to defeat a power cord? in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Unfortunately I haven't been very successful.
@KratosMD I really like the story so far and how they've given all the pokémon different personalities. It does highlight how the stories in most of the mainline games are a bit naff.
One aspect of Alpha Sapphire I really appreciated was the bottom screen showing how many pokémon need to be caught in each area. It really helps with filling the pokédex. The monster designs in gen3 are great. I love how the 3D models really bring them to life.
