The last of the four-episode web series on DONTNOD's Vampyr has been made available today. This video is entitled "Stories From the Dark", and sees the development team speak about how they've approached storytelling within their latest title.
They talk about the narrative bleeding into the gameplay, and how telling stories in games is closer to theatre than it is to movies, because the audience is more present with the characters. We also get a small glimpse at the game's HUD, dialogue trees, and the Citizen Menu, which presumably lets you keep tabs on all the characters you meet throughout the adventure.
Arguably the highlight of the video, however, is the announcement of the game's launch date. You'll be biting necks and navigating moral quandaries on 5th June 2018.

Not sure it's wise to release any game just before E3 as they inevitably end up getting lost in the sea of noise it creates. Having said that, i am interested in Vampyr, it looks like my kind of game, hope it turns out to be something special.
no wondering why Sony are very quiet to announce release date for Days Gone and Detroit Become Human beside other games already announced release date for awhile ago. that's good news to know this game finally announced release date
Hmm I am still on the fence about this title but it does look interesting. THey clearly aren't rushing it out of the door though.
I'm honestly looking forward to this.
Been waiting for this. Last good vampire game was vampire the masquerade on PC .
Its looked interesting and intriguing to this point but I don't think it will be a day 1 for me - see how it reviews first...
Yeah, I’m cautiously optimistic about this title, but honestly, we’ll all still probably be knee deep in God of War from 2 weeks earlier and Spiderman is still a possibility around that time.
I've had my eye on this one for a while. I always enjoy Dontnod's games – even Remember Me on PS3, which was very underrated.
@BAMozzy i think it get around 80
@Th3solution yeah but we need to know when Days Gone and Detroit Become Human release beside Spider-Man
@Jake3103 I loved Remember Me. I hated that episodic game they were part of, though.
Can't wait for this game. Will be day one as long as backlog permits.
I can't believe this game still isn't out yet. We've known about it for almost three years now.
@porhawj2016 True. Either of those games could also be early summer releases also. I just mention Spiderman as the one that seems most feasible because I think Avengers Infinity War is a May release and people have theorized that Spiderman would likely release close to the movie for maximum exposure. If so then May/June would be the time.
I've never been interested in Vampire games, but will definitely buy this one. It looks very interesting and I really enjoy games that have a deep sense of atmosphere, narrative and 'place'. I don't expect this to be a mega-hit though, it's not mainstream enough for that.
@Jake3103 I agree that Remember Me was underrated. Game reviewers, especially the Big Media, were blind to all the cool and unique stuff the game offered (like the storyline, combat and world-design) and were instead focusing on nitpickings. It doesn't help that everyone in the Big Media have same expectations and tastes.
@thiz Why such a negative outlook on Dontnod?
@thiz Care to explain in more detail? I loved Remember Me, great game.
@Th3solution yeah but Detroit is likely release in May, Spider-Man could be in June and Days Gone could be in August
@porhawj2016 What an awesome few months this will be. A major AAA offering at every corner.
