Owlboy launches on digital storefronts this month - 13th February, to be precise - and we're excited to give it a try. If you're still collecting physical copies of games, however, you're in luck; SOEDESCO is set to publish a retail edition of the platformer.
This version of the game will launch a little later in the year on 29th May, so if you're dead set on a disc, you'll have to wait a few extra months. It doesn't appear that the physical edition will come with any extras.
For those not caught up on Owlboy, here's the publisher's blurb from its website:
Owlboy is a story-driven platform adventure game, where you can fly and explore a brand new world in the clouds! Pick up your friends, and bring them with you as you explore the open skies. Overcome obstacles and greater enemies, in one of the most detailed adventures of this era.
Being a mute, Otus struggles living up to the expectations of owl-hood. Things spiral from bad to worse with the sudden appearance of sky pirates. What follows is a journey through monster infested ruins, with unexpected encounters, well kept secrets, and burdens no one should have to bear.
Are you looking forward to Owlboy? Will you be picking up this physical version, or going digital? Swivel your head in the comments below.

Bit tired of 2D platformers at the moment but this looks very good.
The perfect game to double dip on the Switch for!
good on them for announcing the physical release before the digital release. something that not a lot of indie developers do. guess i'm going physical now.
Well i think im going get it on discussie then.
I love the visuals of this game but the gameplay looks boring.
I love 2D platformers, but I've played so many at this point, I've gotten quite picky on what is quality enough to be worth my time.
@sketchturner The boring part is what I've read as well (from people who played it). Pity, because I love the aesthetic AND I love getting little gems on physical format... Time for some let's plays.
