Guns of Icarus is a pretty popular multiplayer game over on PC, and its latest iteration, Guns of Icarus Alliance, is set to launch on PS4 as a console exclusive on 1st May.
If you're not familiar with the game, it's a team-based multiplayer title in which you and three others man an airship, with the gameplay largely consisting of blasting other airships out of the sky. In practice, it should operate a little like Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, with players swapping duties between manning the guns, steering the ship, and making repairs. It features both PvP and PvE modes of play.
Interestingly, you'll be able to play and chat alongside PC players, so there will be a healthy online community straight off the bat.
The PlayStation Blog post goes into more detail, so be sure to check it out here. We're quite intrigued by Guns of Icarus Alliance, but what do you think? Shoot down to the comments below.

So it's Sea of Thieves but cheaper
Updated with a gameplay trailer.
@adf86 To be fair Sea of Thieves captures a life at sea extremely well as its boring.
Quite a few co-op games doing the rounds now but as has been proven with us lot trying to get a group together, we all play different stuff at different times so it just doesnt work well at all without huge commitment.
I agree with themcnoisy the game sounds great on paper but it fails in execution. Guns of Icarus Alliance has been out on PC for a while and has been doing horribly. The player population on PC has died and Muse Games just recycled the content onto PS4 with no added improvements. Like themcnoisy said, the co-op games require huge chunks of your time to both learn the game and develop relationships just to fly a single ship. The GOIA community is very toxic from what I can tell on their discussion forums. Not worth the drama. I'll pass
